  • Superfluity of Naughtiness

Today we are going to hit James 1:21. Some reason I looked at the King James Version today and laughed out loud at the translation. We'll see if you also find it a little funny. Say it out loud get a chuckle for yourself. What should we do with our superfluity of naughtiness? That's what we'll talk about today.

  • Quick to Listen

Today we are continuing our journey through the book of James. Today we hit James 1:19-20. We touched on it in the message this Sunday, but I thought we could spend a little bit more time because our listening can actually help us. This is very practical advice for us to follow today. So what is keeping you from obeying?

  • God Never Changes

Today we will finish up the last verses that will lead up to the rest of chapter 1 in church on Sunday; James 1:16-18. In a world where everything changes we need a constant, something that will not change. It is good to know that we have a God who never changes values or character. We will also throw in at the end what it means to be God's prized possession. Take a listen today.

  • God does not tempt

Today we will continue in James with a passage that almost sounds like a contradiction; James 1:12-15. We will talk about temptation today. Where does it come from? Is temptation a sin? Does God tempt me? What questions do you still have about temptation? Leave us some comments.

  • Asking for Wisdom

Today we are going to tackle some of the parts of James that I don't have time to address on Sunday. We are going to talk about James 1:5-7. If you want wisdom, then ask for wisdom and God will not withhold it...but don't be double minded. So today we'll talk about standing on a true foundation.

  • "Used By God"

Today we are going to tackle a cliche that I have used, probably even recently. This wasn't one that was a pet peeve of mine, but after talking through it, maybe it should be. Do you see God using people? Even in that question it is almost as if God only needs a warm body and doesn't care about who we are. Let's explore this one today.

  • "Just have faith" or "If you have enough faith..."

Today we are going to hit a cliche that is also a pet peeve of mine. I think these are used to try and get us out of different conversations. Faith is good and having faith is good, but the cliche is really bad to say. We will discuss why I say that today.

  • "Christianity is a relationship, not a religion"

Today we are going to talk about another cliche. Once again it is a cliche with half truth. We are going to break this one down and not always try and find the simplistic way of faith but a constant call to explore and find the depth. Hope this helps you explore further.

  • "God will never give you more than you can handle"

Today we are hitting another Christian cliche. I'm sure that if you have been a follower of Jesus for any length of time you have heard it said or said it yourself...God will never give you more than you can handle. It is a half truth, but even a half truth is a full lie. We are going to explore this cliche today.
