According to the latest ValuePenguin survey of 2,100 Americans, around 55% of the inquired people experiences sadness and loneliness during the holidays early in 2022 — including 35% who say it's worse than last year.
In the same study, it was founded that members of the LGBTQ+ community face more holiday loneliness than any other demographic analyzed, with 76% experiencing the winter blues. Some of the triggers that affect the most during this time are the ingestion and abuse of alcohol and drugs, the lack of sunlight or the growing sensation of feeling lonely and isolated.

Follow me in this conversation with Ric Mathews to learn what Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) means, what are the symptoms and some tools to cope with it.
