This week, we had 2 special guests on and, generally speaking, we had an open and honest dialogue on the current state of Black people here in America and abroad as we see it. The bulk of the conversation centered around questions we all tried to answer: What do we ultimately want to see come of the recent protests? Will any of this work or make a difference in the long term? Are we relying too much on "allyship" to help us get what we need/want? So many more questions and so many more opinions on this episode, you'll just have to listen to see where this conversation went. We all enjoyed having this discussion and hopefully, it sparks convo in your part of the world.

This week, we're continuing our discussions on the ongoing protests ignited by the murder of George Floyd (and thousands of named and unnamed black men and women, as well). Now, we've turned our attention to the corporations that just got the memo, apparently, it's pretty dangerous to be a black person in America when the cops are in the vicinity. Anyways, large companies like Walmart, Sephora and Apple have pledged large sums of money to "support" black people and our cause. We are questioning: Why now? We are also questioning the motives behind these "donations". Are we to take this as real or just another PR facade?

This week, we're talking about the recent protests that have been taking place in response to the murder of George Floyd. Although, this happened in Minnesota, protests have kicked off all around the country. We decided to speak freely and candidly about the subject and give our perspective on what we've seen here locally in Atlanta. We also gave our opinions on how we truly feel about the protests, police brutality and what we think the results of all of this might be.

This week, we're discussing whether or not we're going to vote in the upcoming election. Now, we already know some people get triggered hearing someone would use their own mind and decide to not either participate in something or not, but that's exactly what we're deciding on doing. We couldn't help but talk about Joe Biden's breakfast club "interview" in which he felt comfortable enough to say if we, as black people, have to think about whether or not we were going to vote for him, we should also reconsider if we're also black... Yeah, he said that..out loud...and we said some things out loud about it.

This week, we're discussing some thoughts on whether or not we believe this COVID-19 situation will expand the gap between who in America has and who doesn't. We've seen differences in the way people are being policed and required to "social distance" based on race. But now, we're wondering are we going to start seeing (more) financial discrimination as this drags out and creates more "have-nots"? We disagreed on what we'd be doing right now if we had to go into work or get fired. We also disagreed on whether or not we'd be using this time to start a business or "hustle" using our stimulus money.

This week, we're giving our (maybe predictable) opinions on the lynching (let's call it what it is) of Ahmaud Arbery by (at least) 2, white men in Brunswick GA. If you've listened to this podcast for any amount of time, you know we live in Atlanta and, although this happened nowhere near the Atlanta metro area, we weren't surprised one bit it happened in the state. As usual, we said exactly what we felt and pulled no punches...from white men in general to the NAACP to the black "activists" on the internet simply using this murder as yet another way to clout chase, we're TIRED of all of it. This week, we're continuing a private conversation we were having regarding music (mostly) and the emergence of image being more important than actual talent. Well, that spilled over into us talking about image consciousness in our everyday lives as this Coronavirus experiment has allowed us to spend more time online and consuming media that, in turn, potentially fuels increased image consciousness.

This week we're talking about Georgia and the decision of Gov. Brian Kemp to (wrongheadedly) open several non-essential businesses in the state on Friday the 24th and then another round to follow on tomorrow (at the time of this recording) to include restaurants and movie theaters. As Atlanta residents, we obviously have strong feelings about this and as black people we feel like we have a greater stake in the outcome of this experiment...so, here we go...

This week's episode was a long one. We talked about our individual (and collective) journey on developing self awareness during this COVID-19 "down time". As much as we tried to stay on task, we ended up having a pretty productive conversation that revealed some things we've not talked about (even in private). Hopefully, some of the content in this episode will spark something for someone listening.

This is part 2 of a conversation on Coronavirus related rants we've been engaging in lately. This part is mostly involving a report online (who knows how much if any is accurate, but we pretty much believe it) that said Africans in southern China's largest city say they have become targets of suspicion and subjected to forced evictions, arbitrary quarantines and mass COVID-19 testing as the country steps up its fight against imported infections. That was pretty much all we knew and decided to record our first impressions and thoughts.
