This week, we’re joined by our cousin Kyle of the 12Kyle Podcast. It’s become customary nowadays for us to start recording an episode prior to the other party knowing anything about what the subject is going to be and this one is no different…except, we gave Kyle the honors and he hit us with the concept of survivor’s guilt. You’ll have to listen to get a full idea of the concept, but we had a really interesting conversation that took us from our individual childhoods to our current adulthood and briefly analyzing how we all felt about how far we’ve come in life, but simultaneously knowing there are friends and family members we grew up with that haven’t “made it” and whether or not it created personal conflict within each of us.

This week, we’re talking about music. Apparently, Ruben Studdard is coming to Atlanta soon and will be singing Luther (Luffa) Vandross classics. Now, one of us cares and the other could care less, but it did spark a conversation about music in general. We had a previous episode about this same subject roughly a year ago, so we decided to continue that conversation. We also wondered aloud how we thought the replacement of our aging musical geniuses is going to happen or if it’ll happen at all.

We talked about a couple of instances where we weren't communicating as well as we could and discussed how we are still working to get better at it. We also explored some of the communication challenges we've faced at work and just in everyday interactions recently.

This week, we had a conversation about a topic that was on a recent episode of The Friend Zone podcast dealing with negativity bias and how our brains deal with it that Mia listed to. She wanted to have a dialogue between us two, but (as is now becoming customary) she was the only one who knew what we were talking about before recording. We ended up talking about different aspects of negativity: is it sometime necessary? how we deal with it, how it affects us in our daily lives and how we try to get past it.

However, we had a conversation with a fellow podcaster, 12Kyle of the 12Kyle podcast and he was partly the inspiration for us going ahead and airing this subject out. This week is yet another week where one of us had something on our mind and the other had absolutely no idea what the show was about. We ended up speaking on toxic family, friends, co-workers...basically, anyone in your life that's making it harder and not easier. We gave some advice in this episode, but mostly just spoke on how we've had to deal with the toxic people in our lives and what we've done and tried to cope.
