This week, we gave in to the urge to rant. As many of you probably already know, we invest in real estate. Needless to say, we're a little biased when we see things floating around that says "landlords are evil" & "landlords are parasites". Normally, if we feel we're biased on a subject, we skip it until we can take other perspective into account. That's not what happened here, though.

This week, we're talking about going into a different direction. We've talked multiple times on this podcast about racists and racism. This conversation is about whether or not that makes any sense anymore. It'll be better explained what I mean in the episode.

This week, we're talking about entertainment. Technically, the Whispers (and Queen and Slim) started this conversation (it'll make more sense once you listen, I promise). Lately, we've been watching a lot more movies than we had in the past. It occurred to us that a lot of the movies, although they started out pretty good or had a decent cast, they often had either garbage endings or stories that were under developed with characters that did the most illogical stuff. We decided to bring it here to air out all of our thoughts.

This week, we're talking about crack. Yes that crack and yes for real. It's Storytime again, so if you're in the mood for a crack story, you're in luck. Sure, we could've talked about new years resolutions neither of us would keep, but wouldn't you rather hear why we're even talking about crack in the first place? Yeah, me too. (Side note: I've never typed, thought or said the word "crack" that much in my life). (Side-Side Note: No, we've never smoked crack).

This week, we're talking about music. It was actually inspired by Drake (of all people). Apparently, he decided to withdraw his project from Grammy consideration. Now, honestly, neither of us was about to talk about Drake for an hour, but it did bring up some interesting questions: Is this going to become the norm in the music industry? Are the Grammy's still relevant and needed (I'll kill the suspense...the answer is hell no)? We asked these questions, answered even more and really, just had an overall music convo.

This week, we're talking about something we had a conversation about on a recent trip to the Dominican Republic. Over the last few years, we started having a lot of skepticism in the health care system and that has increased during this pandemic. During this recent trip, though, that skepticism was put on steroids.

This week, our conversation surrounded the idea of not being surprised when someone (or an institution or a country) shows you signs they don't care about you. We spoke briefly about the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict and Malcolm X, but overall we spoke about re-membering the past to inform the present and the future.

This week, we're talking money. Essentially, we're asking the question: Does having money make life easier if you're black in America? Obviously, it doesn't get rid of racism or sexism or homophobia. We know that, but does it make life easier or does it not make as much of a difference because of all the other -isms we have to deal with? We talked about this and some follow-up questions that came upas well.

This week's episode was inspired by a breakfast sandwich. I know that makes no sense, so I'm not going to type a long paragraph to make it make sense. It'll make more sense once you listen.

This week, our conversation got sparked by a really, really stupid comment. While we didn't spend too much time on the comment itself, we did dig a little into what we felt was the underlying sentiment behind it.
