ABOUT JUAN VINCENT:
I have been involved with the spiritual-occult ever since I was 3 in the Philippines. My nanny bought me candles to play with to keep me distracted while she was cooking or cleaning. Later, my mom told me that her father was both a barber and a spirit-energy worker, and I inherited my strong relationship with everything supernatural from my Lolo Kiko (a.k.a. Grandfather Francisco). Growing up in a traditional Roman Catholic household, I strongly resonated with the images and the ceremonies I witnessed in church. I began to explore spiritual practices focusing on nature and shamanism, buying my first deck of Rider-Waite Tarot at 14. During high school, I began to take parapsychology classes, and I joined a Wicca Coven at 22 after moving from Michigan to San Francisco. Eventually, I became a solitary practitioner of the Wiccan tradition until my guides brought me to the Yoruban Religion of Santeria in which I am a priest of the Orisha Ochun since 1996.
I received a Masters of Art in Transformative Art from JFKU and currently combine my creative & craft skills with my spiritual training allowing me to find my cosmic truths with a solid sense of authenticity. I work with the energies of plants, animals, and minerals, which inspire me to design and make empowerment tools and body adornment that reflects my core beliefs.
