Takes All Over The Place

Need a lil break from this crazy world? Well, luckily there is plenty to watch (or just listen to us talk about) these days! Flight Attendant Season 2 is proving to be just chaotic as Season 1, but even more enjoyable. Julie also finished Ozark, Pachinko and Slow Horses and started Shining Girls, Under the Banner of Heaven and Real World Homecoming: New Orleans. And Nick’s remodeling and still watching Heartstopper - potentially on a loop for the rest of time.

Show Notes:

Hearts are bursting in the studio because we’re smitten with Netflix’s new series Heartstopper - a kind, sweet and addicting story of friendship, love and queer identity (based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman). We also continue our journey with Pachinko and fall back in time with Natasha Lyonne to kick off Season 2 of Russian doll.

We also pop by this season of Survivor, take a stroll through Anne Hathaway’s career and check in with Nick on his Friends journey.

Nick insists on a trip down memory lane, Julie’s got a delightful mix of feelings wrapped in tweets and Emma has compiled far too many games along the themes of “Who are we?” and “What have we been doing for the last couple of years?”

Shout out to our listeners who contributed to the party and everyone who’s been hanging out with us for these 100 episodes - we love having you here and laughing with you!

They tried to talk about this week’s drag race LalapaRuza but end up just reminiscing on the best lip syncs of all time and moving on quickly and giving plenty of time to this week’s best Tweets!

To avoid the looming Avery v. Nancy decision, Jack turns his attention instead to an urgent janitorial negotiation between Khonani (Kapil Bawa) and Subhas (Subhas Ramasaywack). Liz is very unhappy to find she’s been excluded from her work family’s weekly karaoke night, but eventually finds strength in her role as mama dog for the TGS cast and crew and gets her windmill high five with her pal/co-manager Jack.

This week’s comforts included creatures, psychics and some of Licorice Pizza. Turning Red was a darling coming of age story with great effects and multiple interpretations and Life After Death with Tyler Henry is an entertaining reality show meets murder mystery - and he’s gay! All. boxes. checked. If you’re looking to get uncomfortable, look no further than Severance - the fantastically spooky show on Apple. And if you just want to play a game, join us for Scattegories

Nick’s Unbreakable with Kimmy Schmidt (and clairvoyant to boot), Julie teaches us about True Romance, and there are tweets, laughs and games galore!
