Steve is a lifelong resident of the state of Maryland. He’s married to his beautiful wife Robin, who he met in high school over 50 years ago. Steve underwent a Total Laryngectomy in February 2019 and received his Tracheoesophageal Voice Prosthesis (TEP) in September 2019. He owns, and still actively manages a national wholesale food brokerage business. Steve is a current or former board member of; The Governor’s Advisory Board for Telecommunication Relay (Maryland) as the “Speech Disabled Representative”, The International Association of Laryngectomees (IAL), Web Whispers and The Laryngectomee Club of Montgomery County Maryland (LCMC). Additionally, he’s a mentor for Imerman Angels Cancer Support Group. Previously, Steve was licensed in Real Estate, and held the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD) . Steve shared that because of the early help and ongoing mentoring that he received from many of the wonderful members of the Laryngectomee community, he’s been instilled with a heart felt desire to assist other Laryngectomees or family members in any way that he can. He continually welcomes the opportunity to meet with new patients, family members, Speech Pathologists and others, and to be a staunch advocate in the Laryngectomee community and has always found it to be a very rewarding experience.

She was born in Atlanta, GA. Lived mostly in Live Oak,Florida.  She graduated from Suwannee High School.  Moved to Gainesville in 1997.    Attended Santa Fe College and have been employed at UF Health for 22 years.  Currently theResearch Billing & Ops Manager.  She is married (19 years) and have a blended family.  Consisting of her two biological children, four stepdaughters, four step grandchildren, our family dog AK and family cat Lavender.  she enjoys working out, running ½ marathons, hiking, planting, traveling and bringing positive energy to relationships and situations I she engages in.

 Diagnosed initially with Stage 0 Non-invasive ductal carcinoma in-situ.  After partial mastectomy, pathology confirmed Stage 1A invasive breast cancer.  Re-excision + sentinel lymph node biopsy performed.  Aftercompleting 20 sessions of radiation She is cancer free.  Completing year three of survivorship.

Shai Sewell is a board certified clinical specialist in oncology physical therapy, and the primary acute care physical therapist working with oncology patients at the UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital. His passion lies in finding ways to make physical activity meaningful in order to better engage people throughout their cancer diagnosis. He has spoken on multiple platforms about the importance of exercise throughout cancer treatment and continues to engage with clinicians and patients about the inclusion of exercise to improve quality of life. His passion for oncology is patient centric with goals of optimizing function. Maureen joined Impedi Med in January 2022 as the Key Account Specialist,Rehab. In this role, she uses her 27 years’ experience as a physical therapist, specializing in lymphedema and cancer rehabilitation to promote the prospective surveillance model of care in the oncology space. Having worked with bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) technology for over twenty years, Maureen has great insight into the use of BIS for the early-intervention and prevention of chronic cancer-related lymphedema. She is passionate about implementation science and evidence-based medicine. Maureen is an active member of the lymphedema community and is a member of many organizations including: APTA, LE&RN, ISL, AVLS, NLN and ACRM. Maureenwas a CLT training instructor for 15 years and still speaks at conferences andcontinuing education programs. Maureen has been involved in a long-termvolunteer project to help advance lymphedema care in Cali, Colombia, andsupports the many lymphatic advocacy efforts in the US.

Reordan De Jesus serves as a section chief of the neuroradiology department at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. For this, after graduating as a diagnostic radiologist, he did one fellowship sub-specializing in general Neuroradiology and a second sub-specialization in Head and Neck radiology. As such he interprets imaging related to the head, neck, and spine regions as well as performs procedures guided by imaging in those locations such as lymph node or mass biopsies of the head and neck as well as sampling of spinal pathologies such as tumors or infections. He also leads the imaging component of many multidisciplinary conferences, especially those related to head and neck as well as brain cancers as well as stroke and neonatal/pediatric neuroradiology conferences. He is very passionate about all aspects of learning how to live fully in the present moment which transfers to the care of his patients, especially the ones that require a short physical presence such as when performing image guided procedures. He firmly believes that cultivating the deeper aspects of his life that would lead him to a life out of the ordinary with greater presence during any brief interaction, especially the ones he has with his patients. He is always reminded that one of the greatest gifts one can give is to be fully and totally present and see all beings for the miracle they truly are.

Dr. V. Suzanne Klimberg is a Professor and the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology and Colorectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She is a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon with three decades of experience in breast surgical oncology. Dr. Klimberg holds the Courtney M. Townsend, Jr., M.D., Distinguished Chair in General Surgery and is Clinical Director of the UTMB Cancer Center and Medical Director of the Breast Cancer Service Line.

Dr. Klimberg earned her medical degree with honors in 1984 at the University of Florida (UF) in Orlando, Florida. She remained at UF to complete her general surgery internship and residency as well as a clinical oncology fellowship . Dr. Klimberg went on to complete a breast diseases fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

In her career, Dr. Klimberg has pioneered innovative breast cancer treatment methods and holds several patents in surgical treatment methods. She has authored over 260 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 49 book chapters in surgical textbooks as well as served as editor of 13 surgical textbooks. Additionally, Dr. Klimberg is Chair of the Oncoplastic Breast Skills Course at the American College of Cancer, has held over 30 editorial board positions for surgical journals and publications, has won over 75 awards in teaching, research, and clinical care, and is the past president of three major American surgical organizations.

Dr. Klimberg's clinical interests include prevention of lymphedema using Axillary Reverse Mapping (ARM) technique; needleless breast surgery; minimally invasive breast surgery; treatment of breast cancer with radiofrequency ablation; diagnosis of breast cancer with tears; high-risk management; breast pain; and chest wall pain after surgery.

Shannon Blewett, PT, is a physical therapist specializing in oncology at UF Health. She moved to Gainesville in 1994 to attend the University of Florida and graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physical Therapy. She has been apart of the Cancer Rehab team at UF Health since 2001 and has contributed to the significant growth of the program. She earned her Lymphedema Therapist Certification in 2004. She has spoken at the National Lymphedema Network International Conference. She has been a guest lecturer for the University of Florida’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program yearly since 2002.  She loves to travel, hike, kayak, watch sports (especially the Gators), and any activity or time spend with her family and friends.

Natalie Horback is a Physician Assistant working in Breast Medical Oncology. She is originally from Miami, Florida and now live in Tampa. She graduated undergraduate school from the University of Florida with a major in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. She worked in Obstetrics and Gynecology as a Medical Assistant prior to applying to PA School. then She attended Wake Forest School of Medicine - PA studies and graduated in May of 2023. She officially started working as a PA in Breast Oncology in August of 2023 and have loved it ever since.
