In the last two months, life has changed drastically. I turned 34 and secretly moved from Maryland to Los Angeles during WFH orders to make a 13-year dream come true.  Less than a month after leaping a MASSIVE net appeared in only a way God gets the glory for. Here's how it happened.

One of the worst things women do is make men pay for a heart they didn't break because of unresolved daddy issues. In many ways, I feel like a fatherless daughter. It has shaped my life in more ways than I can imagine. Every relationship in my life, albeit personal, familial, or romantic has been impacted by growing up without my father in the home.

It's normal to outgrow people and things and jobs, but if you're not honest about your feelings you can find yourself stuck in a loveless relationship, a friendship that lacks reciprocity and a job that doesn't value you. Want to chase your dreams? Want to start over? Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Disappointment means you're actually living and not just existing. You've opened yourself to love but found yourself heartbroken. You've accepted your dream job but now you hate it. You've forgiven but only to be taken advantage of again. How do you process pain in the wake of constant disappointment?  Why is everything a lesson? God, if I'm Your child why is everyone else winning? 

At the end of April Netflix announced a new podcast hosted by two popular Black women in the media and social media space. Alongside the many congratulations were several declarations of disappointment from women that worked in the same industry. The question? Why did it seem as if the same group of friends always got the big opportunities? While I completely understood the feeling and had felt the same in many ways prior, it served as a reminder that you can't win if you don't play.

This has been my life's motto for as long as I can remember. And if I'm honest I always felt as if my journey was unnecessarily hard and wrought with annoying challenges and unavoidable heartache. This episode starts at the beginning, growing up as an only child in a single-parent home. Riddled with loneliness and a crazy amount of creativity, both would go on to shape me as a woman navigating life and career in her mid-thirties. This episode is a reminder that although life may not always be kind, scattered seeds still grow.
