August 04, 2021A Major Scale ABRSM Lesson Free Download with the Tale Teller ClubA Major Scale ABRSM Lesson Free Download with the Tale Teller Club.hi guys welcome to a major uh this is the grade two scales uh lesson i'm just going to tell you the names of the notes and i'm going to talk a little bit about fingering actually because a couple of ways that you could um use your fingers to your best advantage it really depends how comfortable you are with stretches um what else there's it's quite complicated isn't it because there are three sharps suddenly oh goodness me what kind of sharps are they well we've got an f sharp a c sharp and a g sharp so basically we when we play let me pop the backing track on there we go so when we play this a play with the g and then we play the a we're going to start on that a with our first finger and then in normal first position we just play the b with our third but then it's this extension so you need to really extend that but you could um stretch to do the b with your second if you were more comfortable doing that i'm going to use one three extension to do mine okay so we've got one three extension open one three extension open extension and my hand is still in that position you see this is what makes it easier three one open extension three one okay so we've got a b c sharp d e f sharp g sharp a g sharp f sharp e d c sharp b and a it's quite hard calling them out let's try it it's quite a skill um so for the let's turn that up a little and we'll do the nice that's also always keep it slowly really slow so let's just uh tryupokay i'll do that once more withoutspeakingokay now the other version for the grade 2 abrsm is version and it's only two notes on each snare so downdownand um that should be long enough for you to play both versions the examiner could ask you for either version so you need to be really adept atbothokay guys hopefully that was enough um you can just replay the tape obviously um it's difficult but it's beautiful isn't it i don't know if it's my favorite what's your favorite we're doing the b flat major in a minute um so it's three a day i think three new ones a day and what you need to do is after you've done your three new ones the next day before you do anything new you start from the grade one again and you play everything all the scales and the arpeggios and the broken course whatever that you've learned thus far that keeps it fresh you only have to play through them once that keeps them nice and fresh in your brain but keep them keep doing that every day every make that part of your ritualistic practice program okay and you'll find then that you become um a really good musician and you'd be surprised at how it improves your technique and your ear and all the other things that are so important uh to especially to string players we have to work on our ear a lot all the time okay so come back in a minute and join me for b-flat major...more7minPlay

August 04, 2021F Major Scale With The Tale Teller One Octave ABRSM Free DownloadPlaying together with Orchestra F Major Scale With The Tale Teller One Octave ABRSM Free Download.hi telltalers welcome to our first challenge class of the day here at telltale kids and the performing arts free school um we're going to do grade 2 the scales and we're going to work this week we're going to spend a few days on the grade 2 section this is the abrsm book um we're going to look at f major a major and b flat major today but i'll split the lessons up so that you can access them individually that's by far and away the best way and i think the the nicest way to practice these is with the string section so i've roped um claudine in once again to be our accompaniment our accompanist for today um so let's talk about first of all i'm going to put her on in the background just hear that slightly i think when when we're playing strings we really should at all times have um some sort of oral uh key to to cling on to um but she's not very loud at mode because i'm going to just tell you the fingering so we're starting on an f is an f major scale only one octave guys not too much to think about so we've got an f with foura g with open uh an a with one and look we've got a b flat so it's two and then four for the cnow you should have all your fingers down to remember how we learn we don't use one thing we use the whole hand and that just helps it really helps imprint in our heads a much better way of fingering so there's the c cross strings to that d and then you can lift and release and move along ready for the e with one and the f with twoand then we're going to come back down again because our fingers are nicely organizedand open across with c and that lovely b flat and then oneand then that open gand it's nice across don't forget to keep that bow nice and straight okay now i've got a few tips for you if you practice really slowly from right at the frogall the way downstraight down to the tip it's going to really help your bow movements and then you just twist around make sure that elbow's nice and straight for that g and so on and so forth a really really good way to remind yourself how to get a really lovely beautiful tone okay so let's um increase that volume a littleand play the scale this is the separate bow patterns methodumespecially if you've been doing different you know if you've been working on triplets for example and a beautiful dreamer we're doing the dreamer or three minutes on one bone movement and that can be a bit tricky so imagine really concentratedokay it's terribly pretty isn't it when you're in perfect tune with the string section this is why people love the orchestra so much so i'll leave that running a little so that you can play without me and i advise you do it once you separately and then the next timeokay guys i hope that was enough backing for you can always replay the recording um so uh do um download the apps if you um if you're really keen to follow the uh the sort of grades or the suzuki method or any of the other styles that we're doing we're doing jazz we're doing blues and then you'll get updates you see and you can follow the lessons it's much easier to do that it's quite hard once you lose track to sort of re-establish but i try to label everything as it's labeled in the books that we're using so you know if you just scoot around you you hopefully you'll be able to find stuff you can always drop me a line and ask and i can link you up with one of the classes okay so um i'll be back in a minute with a major how exciting...more8minPlay

August 04, 2021Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Variations Suzuki Bk 1 C Demonstrationhello child tellers welcome to the third class of today for piano we'll be doing some cello classes later as well this is variation c from suzuki book one of the theme of uh twinkle twinkle little star okay now then this one is i don't think it is the hardest i think variation b is the hardest myself let me play it through for youdosookay simile at bar three tells us that we have to carry on with this staccato which are the the dots that means treat the notes as if they're hot with a little space in between them you can be a little bit flexible i think about how you play your staccatos because one thing that suzuki may have a habit of doing is making everybody who performs a suzuki track a piece sound exactly the same and i don't know if that's a good thing at all so um i'd recommend that you play these in lots of different ways really quietly uh really fast uh really slowhowever you want i mean it's not much variation you can get on a yamaha um we'll be doing we'll be using our uh forever piano tomorrow it's being delivered hopefully i ordered a baby grand piano and it was held up last week ended up in london and then in bath and now it's i think it's in bath again um but it's due for delivery tomorrow and um i'm terribly excited unfortunately you can only get so far on an electric piano there are many many advantages with an electric piano of course the biggest one is you can plug it whack it straight into your computer and um it's perfect for you know logic pro and garageband and all these wonderful things i'm a composer so i use that stuff all the time darlings but you will never get the wonderful wonderful breadth and depth of sounds and variations and wonderment that you will from a an acoustic piano but for our purposes this is absolutely fine and early days you don't need to have you don't need to ask mum and dad for a baby grant yet um maybe when we get to the next book hey um so let's ask livy to play us um livy could you see major arpeggios please you actually if you're if your ear's very good you could play along with libby just on the on the base there nice very nice...more4minPlay

August 04, 2021Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Variations B Beginner's Suzuki Book 1 Private School Lessonshey gorgeous tale tellers from all around the world welcome to the music room at royal clarence now today we're going to have a look at a few of the variations we're going to do all three variations today and um maybe we might we might get some left-hand tonalization in as well so this is a free lesson from the performing arts free school and from telltaler kids club as well you can go to either of my podcasts and get this this show okay and whichever one you prefer the tail teller kids has lots of stories so that's why there are two different ones one has lots of kids stories and ones just um things to do with performing okay so lots of recitals actually and i do some poetry and things and um you could do some poetry with this actually it would work quite well you could make up your own version of twinkle twinkle little star so we're using the suzuki book and um we're using suzuki book one and this is rather interesting version because this is variation b and it's got all these things going on wait if you hear it it's much easier to follow than if you look at it so easy isn't it so let's do that whole barsoand back again to the front so i did the whole thing instead of the whole bar um so that's what it should sound like and when you look at it it's called these strange dots and tails and all it looks really hectic doesn't it well the dots underneath means staccato so act as if the note's hot but don't fly off the note stay close to it um it's a little bit harder to get a really good staccato really interesting staccato on an electric uh piano i've got a yamaha it's not brilliant much nicer on a real piano but we do our best we do our best darlings um the other thing to remember is that you're you're starting on your fifth and you've got to be ready with your second for this g so that you can reach the a okay so there's a lot going on and then so you've got a circa to c and then a hold c and then a staccato and a staccato and then a whole g so it's slow uh sorry quick slow quick quick slow quick quick slow quick quick slow you see but listen i'm going to get livy to play um to help us with the metronome and we'll slow that right down now and i'll just do a couple of bars for you and then um i'll leave it run and you can play yourselves because you know the only way to learn is to yes listen but to try it yourself if if you don't try you're not going to um do very well at all so livvy would you mindso the thing is to have your own timing and keep it keep true to it but also understand that you're fitting in with with livy on our bass guitar so you know you've got to feel it don't don't think it feel it one and two and three and fourandokay and that's all there is to it so slowed it down a bit it's not too fast is it i'm going to let that run for a bit and just enjoy it livy's great it's really good to play with um a mute i call it a musical metronome so she's keeping time for us um but she's also keeping tuned for us and we're starting to understand what c major sounds like that's what's really exciting about playing with um an accompanist like in this manner so enjoy my friends sign up to any of the apps download them everything we do is free here at telltalerkids and the performing arts free school all three all absolutely wonderful short lessons little bursts that we can all understand let's make it fun let's make it fabulous i love thisdododookay guys i think that's probably enough um you could also do you could find those notes on the piano and you could actually play liv libby's part livi's i get her name terribly muddle up it's livy because she plays a liverpool base that's why it's livy right i'm going i'm going to go and do variation c if you'd like to have a listen to that then please do so um it looks harder than it is don't ever be afraid of music just listen just listen and everything will be completely......more7minPlay
