It’s Rj’s turn to pick a title to scratch off of his to-be-read list.  This week power through yet another amazing title from Vertigo, Unknown Soldier by Joshua Dysart.  The story takes place in a war-torn Uganda in the early 2000’s and focuses on the crimes committed by Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army.  Trigger Warning: some of the subject matter of this book is fairly upsetting.

This week we are joined by friend of the shop and friend of the show Mike Kaufman, who has brought us the DC sci-fi police drama, Far Sector by NK Jemisin and Jamal Campbell.  What happens when a disillusioned police officer is given a burner Green Lantern ring and sent to the far recesses of space to maintain order in a society void of emotion? This mystical montage of mysterium and machinations brings us on a journey through time, with the Phantom Stranger standing at Madame Xanadu's opposition! The hands of fate are constantly trying to shape destiny with the help of the Stranger, while Xanadu is constantly struggling with the burden of foresight and how to truly do the greatest amount of good. It's high fantasy and high strangeness of the highest order!
