Some of these programs are notorious for kidnappings, forced medication, even brainwashing. All of them use emotionally or physically violent therapy and control tactics.

You'll hear stories about CEDU, an institution like the one Paris went to; a residential treatment center in Utah called New Haven; bare-bones wilderness programs like Outward Bound; juvenile detention in Massachusetts; a Catholic weekend cult, and more...
