Talk Insta to Me

After many months of going back and forth on whether I should or shouldn't, I finally bit the bullet: I said goodbye to 190,000 followers and started a brand new account 😳

In this episode we'll discuss it all: why I decided to abandon my account, why starting over was the right choice and the final push that made me do it.

In fact, she believes this is not very far away - about one or two years from now.

So in today's episode we're going to talk about whether Instagram will ever be pay to play. It's an important one, so strap in :)

If you're a regular Talk Insta to Me listener, you know I've been playing with the idea of starting a brand new account...

And when I do: what will I actually focus on? What are the things that really make a difference when it comes to growing on Instagram in 2026? 🤔

In this episode I share the 5 non-negotiables I would focus on if I started my account from scratch today.

These are the same things I'd tell you if you've been working hard on Instagram without seeing the results you deserve 🤗

We need to talk about some Instagram advice that seriously needs to retire 🥱

And even though the strategies I'm breaking down inside this episode are old, they are still used by lots of people on Instagram today (and even still get taught by some coaches today 😬).

Unfortunately these strategies are just a huge waste of time... but before we get into what to leave behind, I'm also sharing what's still working, because not everything has changed, and I want to make sure you're not throwing out the good stuff too 🤗

Last month 2500 people unfollowed me.

On both my accounts actually: about 2400 on @evelongfield and 2500 on @sydneyguide.co.

You know what I didn't do?

I didn't crawl into a corner and cried about it.

I didn't hate on the algorithm.

And I didn't spiral out thinking that maybe I should quit Instagram alltogether.

I'll tell you why and what I did do in this episode 🤗
