We're back!!! Ruthie and Brian talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 6, titled Scavengers. This episode's teleplay was by Anne Cofell Saunders, and it was directed by Doug Aarniokoski.
If you haven't seen this episode of Star Trek: Discovery, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We'll be here for you!
I don't get it. They replaced almost every piece of the Enterprise NCC-1701, but it didn't get the A. That was called a refit. This is called a retrofit. Why does it get the A?
Let me specifically say why I don't like them. We can't see enough detail in them to see how many pips there are, and the color changes aren't varied enough to be seen very well.
We both had issues with Burnham and Saru in this episode. It leaked into practically every section of this podcast. Specifically, we don't like the direction they are taking her character. We also think that Saru could have stopped it from happening before it started!
You will notice, if you're the type of listener that uses our chapters, they're a bit sloppy this week. Ruthie and I delved into Burnham and Saru's actions in this episode during our Yeses, and they are clearly Nos. Rather than try to edit them to all be together with the rest of the Nos, it felt more authentic to leave them as they were.

Ruthie's back!!! After a forced two-week hiatus, she's back with Brian to talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 5, titled Die Trying. This episode's teleplay was by Sean Cochran, based on a story by James Duff & Sean Cochran. It was directed by Maja Vrvilo. We apologize for the lateness of this episode. Unfortunately, a long episode combined with life getting in the way led to a late episode this week.
If you haven't seen this episode of Star Trek: Discovery, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We'll be here for you!
We have decided to eliminate the Spot the References section of the podcast.
More to come...

For this episode 73 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through Bury Her Next to Jasper's Leg. Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 6 was written by Alex Delyle and directed by Sharat Raju. We also discuss a little bit about World Beyond Episode 7 titled Truth or Dare.
Wow, in the episode it looked like the tides would turn for our group but kind of was surprised on June's decision. I'm not sure if it was a power move or a stupid one and seemed to put a wedge between her and John in the end. We are reunited with Luciana and while its good to see her alive and working Tank Town but the apparent sabotage by The End is the Beginning people really looks like a death throw to Ginny and the rest of the settlements. No Oil, No Life! I can only imaging this is going to make everyone's relationship on both sides more tense. This season so far has been getting better and better so I just hope that continues.
Please leave your feedback! We will be covering Fear The Walking Dead in it's entirety but if you have feedback about the Spinoff World Beyond we will cover that too, but the main focus will be with Fear! Next time, we'll cover feedback we get for the mid-season finale S6E7 Damage from the Inside, and then briefly talk through any feedback for The Walking Dead: World Beyond S1E8, titled The Sky is a Graveyard. Ratings for S6E6 Bury Her Next to Jasper's Leg were a mixed bag again from the last episode, S6E5 Honey. This week, Fear was able to get a 0.32 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.27 million viewers, up in the viewers this time but down demo from 0.35 and 1.244 million viewers. World Beyond S1E7 Truth or Dare got a 0.20 in the 18-49 demographic with 783,000 thousand viewers, up from 0.21 and 726,000 thousand viewers last week.

For this episode 72 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through Honey. Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 5 was written by Ashley Cardiff and directed by Michael E. Satrazemis. We also discuss a little bit about World Beyond Episode 6 titled Shadow Puppets. Kyle fixes his mistake and we included Brian's Ratings, Sauces for last episode of The Key and hopefully can get him out of the doghouse ;)
In this episode, we see Dwight and Sherry together again but that doesn't last so long. Sherry has been with a mask-wearing group of Ginny misfits with plans to try and rid the apocalypse of her but again Morgan seems to come out of nowhere to spread his word of a place where they all can be safe... again lol. We do get some insight on how bad Negan's scars are on our crossover characters and I really did enjoy seeing that even if it was brief. In the end, Dwight sides with Morgan and AL and Sherry decides that she's just not ready to walk away from her new friend’s plans.

Ratings for S6E5 Honey were a mixed bag from the last episode, S6E4 The Key. This week, Fear was able to get a 0.35 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.244 million viewers, up in the demo but down with total viewers from 0.31 and 1.276 million viewers. World Beyond S1E6 Shadow Puppets got a 0.21 in the 18-49 demographic with 726,000 thousand viewers, down from 0.18 and 742,000 thousand viewers last week. These ratings represent an all-time low for both shows.

We're back but not all of us. Unfortunately, Ruthie cannot join us again this week due to her power still being out at the time of recording, so Brian is joined by LT from NC for the second week in a row to talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 4, titled Forget Me Not. This episode was written by Alan McElroy & Chris Silvestri & Anthony Maranville and directed by Hanelle M. Culpepper, who directed the first three episodes of Star Trek: Picard.
If you haven't seen this episode of Star Trek: Discovery, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We'll be here for you!
We arrive on the Trill homeworld and, unlike Earth, the world is welcome to Starfleet. What they weren't so welcome to was a symbiont in a non-Trill host. We both enjoyed most of what we saw in this story, although it did have a few weak points.
One of the more amusing parts of this story was the Saru dinner, a sort of Thanksgiving day festivity on the Discovery, followed by a holo-movie.
We finally see something from the second Short Trek, Calypso. Zora, the artificial intelligence we see interact with Craft in that Short Trek, emerges when the computer does not give Saru good recommendations. Limiting dairy and therapeutic coloring books aren't going to do it for this crew!
Again, there were a lot of references this week, more than last week. I used this Den of Geek article to help find them.

For this episode 71 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through The Key. Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 4 was written by David Johnson and directed by Ron Underwood. We also discuss a little bit about World Beyond Episode 5 titled The Madman Across the Water. We had some issues this week when trying to record and Kyle couldn't make it due to work and other issues so everyone recorded their own parts and Kyle edited together so it's a little different but in the end it worked out fine.
Actually, everything did NOT work out fine. Most of my segments were left out of the recording this week, due to a lack some confusion as far as how many segments I had recorded, although a few of them were read by Kyle. I had recorded a segment for each segment we have in the episode. My rating was 9.4/10, which I believe was one of the things left off. I'll have to go back and update this after I do.
In this episode, John Dorie seems to be adjusting to this new Ginny controlled world and top cop of Lawton. That all changes with the murder of another citizen of Lawton and Sherif John is on the case. But we are not in a right vs wrong kind of world and in the end, Ginny is the one who calls the shots. This pushes him to his limits and we see again that there is no justice in the ZA. Morgan is looking for Grace and has Rufus the bloodhound on his side but he gets derailed by those two tagger boys. This does finally clarify that whatever that Key that Morgan has is going to be something important but to whom? Again, Fear the Walking Dead just keeps getting better and better and there is still so much more to come.

Ratings for S6E4 The Key were down from the last episode, S6E3 Alaska. This week, Fear was able to get a 0.31 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.276 million viewers, down from 0.39 and 1.501 million viewers. World Beyond S1E5 Madman Across the Water got a 0.18 in the 18-49 demographic with 742,000 thousand viewers, down from 0.28 and 1.020 million viewers last week. These ratings represent an all-time low for both shows.
We're back but not all of us. Unfortunately, Ruthie cannot join us this week, so Brian is joined by and Ruthie talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 2, titled Far From Home. The USS Discovery has arrived at Earth to find what's left of the Federation and Starfleet, only to find that both have left Earth. Earth has turned into an insular, xenophobic world. This episode suffered from needed exposition but it was needed this week. It's a classic trope for Star Trek to show that two enemies aren't really enemies. Wen turned out not to be an enemy but a human. We enjoyed this episode but not as much as the first two,

For this episode 70 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through Alaska. Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 3 was written by Mallory Westfall, and directorial return of Colman Domingo. We also discuss a little bit about World Beyond Episode 4 titled The Wrong End of a Telescope.
In this episode, we are paired with Al and Dwight on one of Ginny's errands roaming around who knows where to document the fall of civilization. Not that we don't already know that most didn't survive, but I guess that doesn't stop Ginny's giving out some ZA busy work. This was a good episode focused on Al and Dwight’s budding friendship and their struggles with this new reality that our group has been in since the Ginny takeover. AL is still stalking Isabelle on the walkie that leads them to some office dwellers who seem to not have moved on outside of their workplace. In any case, we get some highs and lows but overall a really good character-driven episode, again. Fear is running on all cylinders and this is a great thing this season. Oh, and we get a surprise (well did we not already know this was going to happen, at some point?) at the end that I know for one, got me a little misty-eyed.

Ratings for S6E3 Alaska were just slightly down from total viewership from the last episode, S6E2 Welcome to the Club. This week, Fear was able to get a 0.39 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.501 million viewers, down from 0.44 and 1.546 million viewers. World Beyond S1E4 The Wrong End of a Telescope got a 0.28 in the 18-49 demographic with 1.020 million viewers, down from 0.30 and 1.040 million viewers last week.
We're back! Brian and Ruthie talk through Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 2, titled Far From Home. Like the premiere, this episode was written by Michelle Paradise & Jenny Lumet & Alex Kurtzman and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi.
If you haven't seen this episode of Star Trek: Discovery, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We'll be here for you!
The USS Discovery has arrived in the 32nd Century, but it had a bumpy ride. It lands on an inhospitable planet, known only by its inhabitants as The Colony. Several people have their bells rung, Detmer especially. There wasn't really any payoff to Detmer, but we might see something from this in future episodes.
Jett Reno is back, and boy was she funny this episode! She had some of the best lines ever heard on this show.
This episode had a bit of a Western feel, with a barroom brawl and a villain. More to follow...
Again, there were a lot of references this week, though not as many as last week. I used this Den of Geek article to help find them.

For this episode 69 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through Welcome to the Club. Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 2 was written by Nazrin Choudhury, and directed by none other than Lennie James. We also discuss a little bit about World Beyond Episode 3 titled The Tyger and the Lamb.
In this episode, we get Alicia and Strand and Ginny enacting some punishment for their defiance towards one of her Rangers. Only to be sent on a mission... well punishment... to clean out some sticky walkers from a warehouse that Ginny has some interest in. Dear old Charlie returns; Kyle still does not like her but it's nice seeing some of the group being united after all this time. Daniel shows up cutting Ginny's hair but after some pleas from Alicia and Strand, it would seem he's suffered some mental damage at the hands of Ginny's men. (Yeah Right!)
It was a good episode and from the feedback, our listeners enjoyed it as much as we did, well mostly all our listeners. It's nice seeing the show come back to elements of what we loved about this show from past seasons. Show us the characters we love and do it in a character-driven way. This season does seem to have some promise and that makes us happy.
