We're very, VERY late this time out, but for this episode 79 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT talk through two episodes of Fear the Walking Dead: Season 6 Episode 11, titled The Holding, which was written by Channing Powell and directed by K.C. Colwell, and Season 6 Episode 12, titled In Dreams, which was written by Andrew Chambliss & Ian Goldberg & Nazrin Choudhury and directed by Michael E. Satrazemis.

We first discuss Season 6 Episode 11 The Holding, which members of our gang go undercover to meet the underground bad guys. Wes finds out his brother didn't die, but has instead taken up with this underground cult. We also meet the charismatic Teddy and his from death brings life.

We then discuss Season 6 Episode 12 In Dreams, which was a very different episode than the preceding one. Grace is in a dream state after an explosion, as she's going into labor with her baby. This is an uplifting episode until the very end, when it delivers the worst of gut punches.

Ratings for S6E11 The Holding and S6E12 In Dreams were down from S6E10 Handle With Care. S6E11 The Holding got a 0.26 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.033 million viewers, down from the 0.26 and 1.102 million viewers. S6E12 In Dreams was slightly down to 0.25 in the 18-49, but reached an all-time low of only 988,000 viewers, the first time Fear the Walking Dead was under 1 million viewers in first run.

After complaining that we haven't had enough Rubén Blades this season, we get a big Daniel Salazar episode this week. Unfortunately, by the end of the episode, our former Salvadoran torturer has yet again been made toothless by the showrunners, and we're not talking about his shocking bridge plate. This one was an interesting episode, with some issues. How did Daniel do all this without getting detected by anyone else? Or was he framed? Only time will tell.

This one was a tense episode, with lots of action, drama, and conflict, but it wasn't without issues.

It got a 0.22 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.119 million viewers, down from the previous episode's 0.26 and 1.171 million viewers. If you haven't seen this episode of Fear the Walking Dead, stop now!!! Go watch it and then come back and listen to us! Unfortunately, we lost a fan favorite this week. John Dorie, who has been a favorite since Season 4, died in this episode. John Dorie was almost universally loved by fans, and Garret Dillahunt was also loved by fans for playing him. I personally believe this is one of those examples that you reap what you sow. This is speculation on my part, but I think the poor storylines of Season 4b and 5, as well as the fan reaction to Garret/John vs. the show, were the reasons why Garret left the show. It was probably a mutual decision. The showrunners probably realized that they needed to kill off a character, and when Garret got wind of it, he probably volunteered.

Ratings for S6E8 The Door were even with the last episode, S6E7 Damage From the Inside. It got a 0.26 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.171 million viewers, improving from the previous episode's 0.26 and 1.085 million viewers. At the late hour, Talking Dead rated out of the top 150 cable shows Sunday night, with a 0.03 and only 132,000 viewers, down from the midseason finale's 0.04 in the 18-49 and 254,000 thousand viewers.

For episode 123 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT and Kyle talk through The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 22 titled Here's Negan. Here's Negan was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and directed by Laura Belsey.

We have waited for a long time to get more about Negan and his wife before he turned into a murderous villain. And it was worth the wait. This was the best episode out of the six that we got in this extra Season 10c and we wish all of the episodes we got were as good as this one. The acting chemistry between Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his wife Hilarie Burton Morgan was one of the best and made this episode even better. There was so much to this and the end scene with a very tense stare-down between Maggie and Negan make us look forward to what they have in store for us in Season 11.

Ratings for S10E22 Here's Negan are up and that is a good thing and not surprising. Here's Negan got a 0.60 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.124 million viewers, up from last week's S10E21 Diverged, which got a 0.55 in the 18-49 demographic and 1.938 million viewers. Talking Dead got a 0.09 in the 18-49 with 307,000 viewers, down from 0.13 and 620,000 viewers.

Well if you haven't already started the podcast yet just know this one is marked explicit. There were no more F's to give by the time we finished. This episode was just too F'ing slow. And really? Did we need another episode about Carol and Daryl? I mean where's Maggie? Or Rosita? I mean it was nice to see Jerry but they could have given us more. While it was not all doom and gloom and we understand that Covid made its mark on production, but this just wasn't great. And the ratings, while have been going down for some time, was the lowest. Ever. And I don't blame anyone. We did get good feedback and the listeners did make some good points. And we do agree with them, but just want good TWD content and not just filler, just because. Next week does look better. And I hope it delivers. With that I hope you enjoy our discussion, that is not just all bad, just hard to cover, this time around.

For episode 121 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT and Kyle talk through The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 20 titled Splinter. Splinter was written by Julia Ruchman & Vivian Tse and directed by Laura Belsey.

I mean did she ever. I mean there's the ADHD, the anxiety, the PTSD, the depression, the crushing loneliness, and the active imagination that helps her cope with all of it. I guess you could say we had spilt personalities this episode. Kyle liked the episode after the second watch but Brian and LT were just okay with it. I mean for what it was we did get a little introduction of Princess but what does that mean going forward into Season 11. I guess we will have to wait a see. We did get more insight into the stormtroopers and about how they operate when they meet new people. This is our first introduction of the Commonwealth and it didn't look like it was going in the way Eugene may have thought it was. We did have some feedback, good and bad, but while I hope what we are being given in this Season 10.5 of the Walking Dead, that it pays off for when we get to see Season 11 this fall. It turns out that Gabriel is a bourbon connoisseur. Who Knew? This was a better episode as some of you thought the last two were slow. But we did get a good Aaron and Gabriel pairing on their journey to find supplies. There was a lot of blood, dead families, and a crazy tense encounter with none other Robert Patrick playing a character named May who forced our two into a deadly game of Russian Roulette. In this episode, we get to see sides of Gabriel that I don't think we have seen before. A deeper sense of his view of others and this world where Aaron is still holding on to hope and the good in people. Even if they are not so good to him. In the end, these last few episodes are giving us new insights into our characters that we hope pay off in Seasons 11.

One More got a 0.57 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.170 million viewers, down from last week's S10E18 Find Me, which got a 0.65 in the 18-49 demographic and 2.259 million viewers. We get a Dog origin story this week. It turns out that Daryl WASN'T the one to name him Dog. It turns out... Leah did. Who's Leah, you ask? We've never seen her before, but what happened to her? Will we see her again? Will she be in the next series?

It turns out that Daryl met and had a relationship in that seven-year period after Rick's death, Daryl had a relationship with a woman he met named Leah. Daryl was given an ultimatum, where he had to choose between his people, staying out there looking for Rick, and being with Leah. By the time he decided, it was too late, but why did he have to make that decision? It seemed baffling to us, especially me. And while we're at it, put the map away!!!

When Carol leaves Alexandria with him, he calls her on it. He even says that he should have let her stay on that boat. Until he said it, I forgot about that boat. Of course, we know they are going to end up together in a series, so any conflict between them is a little anti-climactic, but it was still good drama nonetheless.

Find Me got a 0.65 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.259 million viewers, down from last week's S10E17 Home Sweet Home, which got a 0.92 in the 18-49 demographic and 2.891 million viewers. The previous low was the original season finale, S10E16 A Certain Doom, which got a 0.87 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.727 million viewers. The looks exchanged between Maggie and Negan in the cold open was classic. Clearly, there is a confrontation in their future. Will she kill Negan? Will they make peace?

I didn't know the term ghillie suit before this episode. Of course, I've seen ghillie suits before, but I've never heard the term. He takes care of Maggie's redshirts. Why Pope marked Maggie (or their group), no one but the characters know at this point.

Ratings for S10E17 Home Sweet Home are up from historic lows. It got a 0.92 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.891 million viewers. That beats S10E16 A Certain Doom, which got a 0.87 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.727 million viewers. Talking Dead was also up. It got a 0.32 in the 18-49, 1.036 million viewers. It improved from 0.20 in the 18-49 demographic with 682,000 viewers back in October.
