We're back! Brian and LT talk through Star Trek: Lower Decks S2E4, titled Mugato, Gumato. This episode was written by Ben Rodgers and directed by Jason Zurek.
We didn't get a lot of feedback this week, probably due to the Labor Day weekend. However, if you listened the last two weeks, you know we've gotten very special voicemails from Mary Lou. This week, she left another voicemail for us!

For episode 125 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Brian, and LT talk through The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 2 titled Acheron, Part 2. It was written by Angela Kang and Jim Barnes and directed by Kevin Dowling.
Well, Maggie doesn't seem to be bothered by the choices she makes. She also isn't that great at giving a pep talk but I guess she has seen some things and has had to make some hard choices to stay alive. We do get to see the return of Gage and Roy but without the supplies, they ran off with. And Negan has an interesting arch in this episode. Is there going to be a change in relations between him and Maggie? I guess we will have to see.
We did like the look of this episode and a glimpse of those who were surviving down in the subway after the fall. But as with most things, walkers get involved and make a mess out of things. Luckily we know our group can handle themselves. Even if some of their Train car clearing tactics were a bit weak.
This time we see Yumiko show off her skills against the Commonwealth Buerocrats. She knows how to read a room. This does play out well for our group but they did take one last poke at Eugene to break him, but it didn't work. At least that is what Kyle thinks. This in the end gets our group reunited and passing inspection for entry into the Commonwealth and a surprise (well, not really) introduction to the one and only Stephine. Eugene is finally getting a girlfriend...well we think so. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Ratings for S11E2 Acheron, Part II are down a little but a nice surprise in the Parrots as the show jumped up to number 2, really, this is awesome. Acheron, Part II got a 0.52 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.990 million viewers, down from last episode S11E1 Acheron, Part I, which got a 0.60 in the 18-49 demographic and 2.216 million viewers. Talking Dead got a 0.18 in the 18-49 with 779,000 viewers, down from 0.18 and 874,000 viewers.
That's it for Acheron, Part II. For our next episode, we'll be covering The Walking Dead S11E3, titled Hunted. We'd love it if you sent in your feedback. One of the best ways to submit feedback is on our Facebook g
We're back! Brian and Kyle talk through Star Trek: Lower Decks S2E3, titled We'll Always Have Tom Paris. Tendi takes Mariner on a mission, Rutherford is haunted by a mystery, and Boimler's having security issues. And, oh yeah, Tom Paris shows up on the ship! However, not long enough for our tastes.
If you listened last week, you know we got a very special voicemail from Mary Lou. This week, she left another voicemail for us!

For episode 124 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian, LT, Kyle and special guest Ruthie talk through The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 1 titled Acheron, Part 1. It was written by Angela Kang and Jim Barnes and directed by Kevin Dowling.
We have long known Maggie and Negan are not BFFs and we get to see this more out in the open. But what we couldn't figure out is what the heck is she waiting for. Dragging him along on a mission when we know she what's him to part this apocalyptic world. But it seems the tables (or dumpster) have turned by the end of this Episode. So we will just have to wait to find out. Although we do think that Angela Kang and the Gimple have learned from their ways and won't treat their fans to another dumpster gate.
We talk a lot about the opening scene at the military base and the Mission Impossible take to get some MREs in wooden crates. There were some questions about why and what they were doing because while it was a cool way to open the show. It just didn't make a lot of sense. Plus LT brings up some good points about Maggie and her death match attitude that also didn't seem to make any sense. Why put your people through all that when you are going to fight some other baddies for much-needed food and supplies.
Also, we are joined by the wonderful Ruthie who you may know from early Walking Dead Talkthrough seasons as well as the first few seasons of Fear the Walking Dead Talktthough. She joins in midstream to give us her takes about the season premiere of Season 11.
Princess has some Eugene skills but in a more behavioral profiling sort of way where Eugene is all facts and figures. We are looking forward to how she can use this in the episodes ahead. King E might not be able to hide his cancer for too much longer. I mean when you cough up blood in front of your captors, things gonna change. And Yumiko gets a surprise from her past that looks to change the status (hopefully) of the others. I guess we shall see.

Ratings for S11E1 Acheron, Part I are up a little and that is a good thing. Acheron, Part I got a 0.60 in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.216 million viewers, up from last episode S10E22 Here's Negan, which got a 0.60 in the 18-49 demographic and 2.124 million viewers. Talking Dead got a 0.18 in the 18-49 with 874,000 viewers, way up from 0.09 and 307,000 viewers. Plus they were actually in studio this time which was a great thing to see.
We're back! Brian and Kyle are here to talk through the Season 2 premiere of Star Trek: Lower Decks, titled Kayshon, His Eyes Open. This episode was written by co-executive producer Chris Kula and directed by Kim Arndt, who directed three episodes last season.
If you haven't seen this episode of Lower Decks, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We'll be here for you!
I didn't mention it on the podcast, but one of the funniest Boimler moments was when Boimler was taking notes at the briefing and Riker said "you don't have to write that down" and Boimler wrote that down. I absolutely LOVED how they used the transporter clone like what happened to Riker in the TNG episode Second Chances.
We meet the new security chief, Kayshon, who is Starfleet's first Tamarian. This was a little different than I expected, but still good.
Like the last episode, there were a lot of Trek references this week. We found a lot of them ourselves, but this Den of Geek article to help us find more. From the giant Spock 2, to those headsets from the TNG episode "The Game", to the Vulcan weapons from Amok Time, to the giant Abraham Lincoln, to a baseball bat and ball, to crates of Chateau Picard wine, there were a lot of them. Boimler also references the Enterprise in his little speech to the away team. Effectively, it was the intellectual episodes vs. the action episodes. Essentially, Trek is both.
I know some people don't listen all the way through the episode, so I wanted to highlight a particularly amazing voicemail we received this week. We couldn't stop laughing. So, if you don't want to listen to the whole episode, skip to that voicemail. Trust me, you will thank me!

We're back! Brian, Kyle, and LT are here to talk through the Season 2 premiere of Star Trek: Lower Decks, titled Strange Energies. This episode was written by creator, executive producer, and showrunner Mike McMahan and directed by Jason Zurek.
If you haven't seen the season premiere of Lower Decks, stop right now!!! Go watch it, then come back!!! We'll be here for you!
It seems like neither of them like the new situation. The episode starts with a big holodeck adventure, which comes to a sudden stop because of the Andorian "Jennifer". It quickly turns into Ransom turns into Gary Mitchell meets Apollo. It was an enjoyable, funny episode, although maybe not quite as good as the last three or four from last season.
Like Season 1, there were a lot of references this week. We used this Den of Geek article to help find them, although we did find a lot of them on our own. Among them: Gary Mitchell, the Cardassians, the Chain of Command two-parter, a Miranda-class starship just like the USS Reliant, and a whole bunch of other things, too.

We're late this time out AGAIN, but for this episode 83 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT talk through Season 6 Episode 16 of Fear the Walking Dead, the season finale, titled The Beginning, which was written by co-showrunners Ian Goldberg & Andrew Chambliss and directed by co-executive producer Michael E. Satrazemis.
We ended up recording the episode over two nights. We started late on Wednesday night, so we finished it on Thursday night. During the two recordings, I started thinking about what I thought didn't make sense, so I watched the episode a second time and did a detailed analysis of how the timeline of the end of S6E15 USS Pennsylvania fits with this episode. The answer: For the most part, it doesn't. There are several examples where either not enough time has passed, or too much time has passed, and there are also some distance issues that aren't related to where the warheads landed. You'll have to listen to the podcast to get more information.
We thought that, although creepy, the writers got Teddy's true motives and actions right on the money, and the scene with Teddy, Dakota, JD Sr and June, we enjoyed Strand (how it was written anyway), Dwight and Sherry, Daniel figuring out Rollie was the mole, and Morgan and Grace finally sharing their feelings once and for all were all highlights. Also, with a radioactive, Chernobyl-like Texas, the showrunners have laid out for what looks like what could be an interesting Season 7.

We didn't have the ratings for S6E15 USS Pennsylvania when we recorded last week but we posted them on the blog post. We'll post them again. Last week, the episode received an all-time low of 0.17 in the 18-49 demographic, with 872,000 viewers, down from the S6E14 Mother's 0.23 and 940,000 viewers, which was the all-time viewers' low at the time. The season finale got a 0.20 in the 18-49 demographic but was up in total viewers with 1.045 million viewers. I speculated that it was because the episode did better with 25-54 and 50+ viewers, but I didn't have the ratings for those demos. Unfortunately, I did not have any ratings information for Talking Dead, though it returned for the season finale.
We're very late this time out AGAIN, but for this episode 82 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT talk through Season 6 Episode 15 of Fear the Walking Dead, titled USS Pennsylvania, which was written by Nazrin Choudhury & Nick Bernardone and directed by Heather Cappiello.
We were split with this episode. LT gave it a 5, while Brian gave it an 8. Neither of them thought it was the worst episode, but clearly, Brian liked it more. Listener reactions were similar to LT's than Brian's.
One thing that we all had a problem with was Morgan telling Teddy and Riley to go. That just seemed dumb for everyone. Also, it seemed weird that everyone went to the sub, but they weren't used very well. Only Strand and Morgan go forward. Why were the rest of them there? What did they do?

We're very late this time out AGAIN, but for this episode 81 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT talk through Season 6 Episode 14 of Fear the Walking Dead, titled Mother, which was written by Channing Powell & Alex Delyle and directed by Janice Cooke.
We get a great scene in the cold open. We see Teddy on death row, just as the apocalypse is starting. A fellow death row inmate gets lethal injection, and then starts a zombie attack in the prison. Teddy just thinks he had the right idea all along. He was just too soon.
Teddy takes Alicia and new arrival Dakota on a road trip and they meet up with old friends from the stadium: Douglas, his wife Viv, and Cole. Do you remember Cole? He was a character who had a thing for Victor, but they never consumated the relationship. Unlike Alicia and the gang, Cole, Viv, and Doug became bad guys. You know, I hadn't thought of it when we recorded, but, for a time, Alicia, Nick, Luciana, and Victor had turned to be the bad guys for a short while before they ran into John Dorie and Morgan.

We finally have the ratings are for S6E13 J.D. It got a 0.27 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.091 million viewers, up from the previous episode's 0.25 and 988,000 viewers. For S6E14 Mother, it got a 0.25 in the 18-49 demographic, with an all-time low of 940,000 viewers.

We're very, VERY late this time out AGAIN, but for this episode 80 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian and LT talk through Season 6 Episode 13 of Fear the Walking Dead, titled J.D., which was written by Nick Bernardone & Jacob Pinion and directed by superfan Aisha Tyler.
While looking for clues about these underground dwellers, June meets up with John Dorie Sr., who has a connection to our bad guy Teddy. It's ironic that John Dorie's dad was so close by for so many years but they never saw each other. It turns out that the criminal John's dad framed was none other than Teddy. Sherry intends to say goodbye to Dwight while she heads to Virginia to kill Negan, but that ends up not happening. Instead, Dwight and Sherry decide to start over and have their own family unit.

We don't know what the ratings are for S6E13 J.D., even though I'm writing this more than a week after we recorded the episode. The website where we have been getting ratings, showbuzzdaily.com, had been down for several days, and now, although they have the pages up, they can't add new ones, so we until then, the chart will stay the same. If you recall, S6E12 In Dreams got a 0.25 in the 18-49, with an all-time low of only 988,000 viewers, the first time Fear the Walking Dead was under 1 million viewers in first-run.
Please leave your feedback! Next time, we will be covering S6E14 titled Mother.
