We want to start offering Patrons a real reason to stay on our Patreon and to get more people to become Patrons. As such, we are going to start experimenting with bringing you some new content that will really make it worth your while to be subscribed.
We are going to try offering Patrons early access to our regular episodes. These versions of the episodes will be less polished than the final version of the podcast, will largely be uncensored, may contain things we fix up in the final version (like when we speak over each other, awkward silences, etc.), content that we remove from the final version and may not have all of the sound effects mixed in properly (and in the case of this episode, doesn't have the beginning and ending music mixed in at all).

Brian here! And we're back! Joining LT and me is James Rowan of the Rebinge Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Prodigy by RebingeIt, as we talk through Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 1 Episode 6, titled Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach. This episode was written by Robin Wasserman & Bill Wolkoff, and Andi Armaganian directed it. This is the first episode that doesn't focus on any one character and doesn't have any species we have seen before. We all LOVED this episode, but LT and I didn't like it as much as James did. That said, it's the sixth episode in a row getting a 9.5 or higher from us, so we're not complaining!
Episodes 7-9 have been recorded and released to Patreon subscribers. We will work on getting those edited episodes out in the next couple of weeks and are being worked on. We STILL have not yet recorded our episode for the finale yet, so if you're reading this and have feedback, send your feedback ASAP! After those come out, we'll get the remaining Picard episodes out. We were going to have Larry Nemecek join us for the finale but we'll have him on sometime after San Diego ComicCon.
This episode was fraught with a lag between the three of us, so you may find we sometimes run over each other's sentences. That said, Kim did a great job editing a tough episode that was also long! Thanks Kim!

Brian here! And we're back! Joining LT and me is Wes Huntington of the Twin Cities Trekkies Podcast, as we talk through Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 1 Episode 5, titled Spock Amok. This episode was written by co-executive producer Henry Alonso Myers & Robin Wasserman, and Rachel Leiterman directed it. This episode had a great homage to Amok Time, while also being a good character-based romantic comedy. We all LOVED this episode, but I didn't like it as much as Wes and LT did. However, watching using low bandwidth on my cellphone, my viewing experience wasn't optimal, and I (correctly) thought it affected my impressions of the episode, especially on my first watch. NOTE: Since recording the episode, I finally got to watch it on the big screen, and my rating and overall impression did go up.
Episodes 6-9 have been recorded and released to Patreon subscribers. We will work on getting those edited episodes out in the next couple of weeks and are being worked on. We have not yet recorded our episode for the finale yet, so if you're reading this and have feedback, send your feedback ASAP! After those come out, we'll get the remaining Picard episodes out.
You shouldn't notice anything but the iPad was causing us issues. I had to replace all of the sound effects during the editing process.

Brian here! And we're back! Joining LT and me is James the Augmented Sailor, as we talk through Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 1 Episode 4, titled Memento Mori. This episode was written by co-executive producer Davy Perez & Beau DeMayo, and Dan Liu directed it. We all LOVED this episode, and thought it was one of the best, if not the best, of the season so far!
At the time of release, we have already recorded episodes 5, 6, and 7. However, we still have spots open for episodes 8, 9, and 10, as well as our Picard episodes 6-10. If you're interested in being a guest host, please let us know. We typically record Strange New Worlds on the weekend, while we have more flexibility with Picard.
About an hour into recording, the connection between my recorder/mixer and the computer died, and I was unable to get it working again (until the next day). We had to improvise. James and LT had to hear me using wired headphones, and the soundboard, which included a voice mail and the news over the microphone from the tablet, was played to them by bringing the tablet close to my headphones' microphone. The quality was poor, so you may hear us run over each other. Thankfully, I was still able to record myself using a good microphone and I replaced the soundboard effects manually. You shouldn't notice much of a difference, but I wanted to mention it in case anyone notices.

Brian here! And we're back! Joining LT and me is Kim from Rebinge Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Prodigy by RebingeIt, as we talk through Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 1 Episode 3, titled Ghosts of Illyria. This episode was written by co-executive producer Akela Cooper & Bill Wolkoff, and it was directed by Leslie Hope. We all LOVED this episode. Kim enjoyed it more than the first two, while LT and I enjoyed it less, but only by a fraction.
At the time of release, we have already recorded episode 4, and that has James the Augmented Sailor as our guest host. At this point, we will probably use a guest host every week. We are also looking to do the same with the remaining Picard episodes that we haven't recorded yet. If you're interested in being a guest host, please let us know. We typically record Strange New Worlds on the weekend, while we have more flexibility with Picard.

For this episode 99 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Brian, and LT talk through Season 7 Episode 16 of Fear the Walking Dead titled Gone, written by Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss and directed by Sharat Raju. Morgan finds a new ally who turns out to be more trouble than he bargained for.
Hey Surviving! We did it! We survived Season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead. Man, we are glad that you stuck through this with us; there were some good parts of this season, but a lot of it was all over the place. But now we are left with the return of Madison, her meeting with Morgan, and the face-off with, newly revealed baby snatchers, PADRE. It took a lot to get here with the direction they took with our people and the so-called war with Strand at the Tower to now. Season 8 will be all about PADRE and how this fits in the bigger TWD Universe? CRM? Rick Grimes? Or is this going to be completely detached from that, and they go it on their own. I hope we get more to connect all of the shows, but I don't know if that is even a goal of theirs after this season. Let’s just hope PADRE doesn't take the Teddy route and nuke the whole place because If I see another sepia filter, I'm going to lose my SH$T!
Brian joined us in the middle as he was still trying to finish watching the episode before we started recording, and he called in using his phone, so it might jump a little here and there. Also, stay tuned as our next recording will be the 100th episode of Fear the Walking Dead Talkthough, and we are bouncing a few ideas to have something that all our listeners can participate in before things start back up again.
So, Enjoy as Kyle, LT, and 'Phone Brian' discuss the Season 7 Finale of Fear the Walking Dead, Episode 16, Gone.
00:00:00 Intro
Ratings for the season finale S7E16 Gone are up this week! Gone got a 0.11 in the 18-49 demographic, with 710,000 thousand viewers, up from episode S7E15 Amina, which got a 0.08 in the 18-49 demographic, with 598,000 thousand viewers. Talking Dead was back and got a 0.05 in the 18-49 demographic, with 327,000 thousand viewers.

For this episode 98 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle and LT talk through Season 7 Episode 15 of Fear the Walking Dead titled Amina, written by Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss and directed by Michael E. Satrazemis. Alicia turns back to save one more person trapped in the fallout.
Hey, Survivors! So another what-the-hell-is-going-on episode that we had to sit through. It was Alicia's goodbye episode, and the showrunners seemed to let it be vague on if she really did die or just walked the wasteland with her Ghost Child companion. So much of this season has been a mess, and now that we know Madison is returning without Alicia, there doesn't seem to be much hope of a good story next season. And by the low ratings you listeners gave and our own, it’s not as fun or exciting to see what will happen next. We will still be here and hope you are too to cover Season 8, but for now, we march forward as we still have one more episode of this season.
So Enjoy as Kyle and LT discuss Fear the Walking Dead, Season 7, Episode 15 - Amina
( Brian couldn’t join us, but he should be back for next week’s finale and will get his thoughts on this episode. I want to hear his take on it. )

For this episode 97 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, LT, and Brian talk through Season 7 Episode 14 of Fear the Walking Dead titled Divine Providence, written by Alex Delyle & David Johnson and directed by Edward Ornelas. As the battle for the Tower heats up, Alicia brings the fight to Strand's front door.
What can we say about this episode other than, what the hell is going on? Everyone is all over the place. There is no rhyme or reason with how everyone is acting, and it's just like the writers completely forget about what happened in previous episodes and just throw it all together without even a thought about it. This is making our expectations for how this will land even more precarious.
We have some good news to share with Renae calling in and leaving an update on her husband, and while she may not be back for the rest of Fear, she has been listening to the podcast and will return in the future. We miss you, Renae, and thank you for keeping us updated. Big hugs from all of us here.

We both LOVED this episode even more than the first episode and we both LOVED that episode, too!
At the time of release, we have already recorded episode 3, and that has Kim from Rebinge Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Prodigy by RebingeIt as our guest host.
