For episode 147 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, LT, and Brian talk through The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 19, titled Variant. Written by Vivian Tse and directed by Karen Gaviola. Eugene is on the run. Mercer is tasked to find him. Aaron's group faces a complication on the road.
Here is another great episode to discuss with some new questions now that we've been introduced more to different kinds of walkers. I don't know what that means for the rest of this finale season, but maybe it has something to do with the spinoffs. Pamela is out for blood, and Eugene is at the end of her deathly stare. She is not the unknowing leader and looks like she is behind some of the dark issues behind the curtain of The Commonwealth. Lance looks like he's on the losing end, but we will have to see.

Hey, Survivors! We have finally recorded this episode, and here it is. It's so good to be back and catching up since Tales, so you can expect things to get back on schedule with the rest of this final season of The Walking Dead. This was such a great episode, and as we hoped, they are starting Part 3 as intense as ever. I can't believe that this is all coming to an end, but we are just happy to enjoy this ride with you listeners.
A note on a few things we are covering Tales of the Walking Dead Episode 5 on this podcast and will cover Episode 6 on the next one. We didn't want to spend a lot of time on these episodes, but as a way to catch up, we wanted to cover the feedback you left as well as give a little of our own reactions. If you want to skip it, you can jump to the Chapter for Episode Discussion or the 30-minute mark in this episode, and that is where we start covering S11E17.

Brian here! And we are back after an unexpected hiatus. This time out, LT and I are joined by Kim from Rebinge Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Prodigy: A RebingeIt Podcast. We talk through S1E9 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds titled All Those Who Wander. This episode was written by Davy Perez and directed by Christopher J. Byrne. Overall, we loved this new terror-filled take on the Gorn. We thought All Those Who Wander was one of the best of this incredible season of this show!
We have really sucked this year, and I'll put that on my shoulders. Unfortunately, with a new job and a lot of other things going on otherwise and the same goes for Kyle, and so has everyone else on the team. As a result, we have been unable to get episodes out in any regular or even irregular fashion, but I am hoping that the worst of that is over now and we can finally get back to releasing episodes and eventually catch up. We've got several episodes recorded on the back burner.
This first one we're releasing was actually recorded on July 6th. The Patreon version has been out for some time now, but there was a problem publishing the final audio to YouTube and the podcast feed, as the files would not compile properly back when we tried to release this episode back in August; after that, my schedule went haywire and I couldn't even try to fix it. Over the weekend, I finally went back and did a new edit on the audio and that fixed the issue.
We have one more Strange New Worlds and three Lower Decks episodes recorded and we'll get them out ASAP. We are sorry for the delay. Our hectic schedules have been an issue this year, especially mine, but I hope this will be the first of many episodes released over the next several weeks. We're hoping to catch up by the time Picard Season 3 comes out on February 16th with the remaining Season 2 Picard episodes coming out in the weeks prior to that date.

For episode 144 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle and Brian talk through Tales of The Walking Dead Season 1, Episode 4 titled Amy / Dr. Everett. It was written by Ahmadu Garba and directed by Haifaa al-Mansour. Amy tries to convince Dr. Everett that people need to take back the land from the dead.
LT was unable to join us, so Brian and Kyle take the reigns, cut off some chomper heads and go forth into the wild unknown of the Dead Zone.
This was an interesting episode that Kyle felt left many more questions than it did answers. We do know that they are treating Tales as just being set in The Walking Dead Universe, but there was just so much that they didn't say that left a lot of what, when, where, and how that the focus of the episode between Amy and Dr. Everett got a little lost or just out of focus. Overall, we enjoyed the science part of the episode, but the characters left us a little dry. As with any new show, there are some growing pains, so I hope the showrunner and those behind the scenes can take all the reactions from fans and make future seasons better.
So enjoy as Kyle and Brian discuss Tales of the Walking Dead, Season 1, Episode 4, titled Amy / Dr. Everett.

For episode 143 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, LT, and Brian talk through Tales of The Walking Dead Season 1, Episode 3 titled Dee. It was written by Channing Powell and directed by Michael E. Satrazemis. A story of Dee's evolution. Dee must revisit her violent past in order to protect her child.
Hello, my favorite Survivors! Here is Tales of The Walking Dead, Season 1 Episode 3 titled Dee. This was a really good episode that took us into another glimpse of Alpha's beginnings. There were some questions about where this takes place from what we saw on the main show, but overall, this was a great episode.
So enjoy as Kyle, LT, and Brian discuss this motherly love of her daughter's survival in the zombie apocalypse episode.

For episode 142 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, LT, and Brian talk through Tales of The Walking Dead Season 1, Episode 2 titled Blair/Gina. It was written by Kari Drake and directed by Michael E. Satrazemis. Blair and Gina, hostile co-workers, try to escape the city and each other at the Apocalypse's start.
Hey Survivors, Here is the mixed reaction episode of Tales of the Walking Dead. It seems some of you did not enjoy this episode as much as Kyle and Brian did, which is okay. This was a significant departure from anything we have seen from the powers that be. So wonder if they will keep that up this season or maybe after, they will change what Tales will be. I know next week is all about Alpha, so that could be an episode that is more in line with sticking with TWD than just something entirely out of the box but still set in TWDU. In any case, we love to hear all of your thoughts, even if you don't like the episode.
So enjoy as Kyle, LT, and Brian (happy that he was able to join us this week) discuss this looper of an episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, Season 1, Episode 2, titled Blair/Gina.

Brian here! And we're back! LT and I talk through Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 1 Episode 8, titled The Elysian Kingdom. This episode was written by Akela Cooper & Onitra Johnson, and Amanda Row directed it. This episode was a lot of fun. We all thought it was a great episode and it's Trey's favorite of the season so far!
Good news and bad news listeners. I've got a new job, and I'm still working part-time at the old job. I've also got a lot going on at home right now that hasn't relented. All of that means that we STILL haven't recorded the finale episode yet. I am going to try to get that done before I travel out of state.
It's time to make some radical changes. Starting with episode 10, the episodes will be edited much less than they are currently. We'll have something new for Patreons. We will have more information on that as we get closer.

Brian here! And we're back! LT and I talk through Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Season 1 Episode 7, titled The Serene Squall. This episode was written by Beau DeMayo & Sarah Tarkoff, and Sydney Freeland directed it. This episode brings in a new villain and hints at an old one. Although we enjoyed this episode and liked it a lot, we both agreed that it was our least favorite episode this season. That said, it's the seventh episode in a row getting a 9.25 or higher from us, so we're not complaining!

For episode 141 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle and LT and a surprise visit from Brian, talk through the Series Premier of Tales of The Walking Dead Season 1, Episode 1 titled Evie/Joe. It was written by Maya Goldsmith and= Ben Sokolowski and directed by Ron Underwood. A prepper leaves his bunker, only to be saddled with a hippie who finagles her way on the ride.
Hey Survivors! We are back to cover the new series, Tales of The Walking Dead. This new series is starting pretty decent, and with five more to go, I hope it stays interesting and fun to watch. This episode had some good things but also some, how do we say it, unrealistic apocalyptic decision-making? Or something like that. Why do these people just leave completely functioning bunkers with tons of supplies to go off into the sunset with nothing but an unloaded gun and a goat? I get that the relationship between Evie and Joe was the point, but still, they could have shown them with backpacks full of gear, which would have made the point. Anyway, still, this was a refreshing return to The Walking Dead Universe for our viewing enjoyment.
Brian was able to pop in from time to time to share his thoughts, and hopefully, he will be able to join us again. If not, he will send in voicemail or written feedback, and we will cover it when we get it. So Enjoy as Kyle, LT, and Brian discuss Tales of The Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 1, Evie/Joe
00:00:00 Intro
Ratings for the premiere of Tales of the Walking Dead S1E1 Evie/Joe got a 0.09 in the 18-49 demographic, with 572,000 thousand viewers. Taking into consideration that the season finale of World Beyond got a 0.07 with 428,000 thousand viewers and the season 7 finale of Fear got a 0.11 with 710,000 thousand viewers. So right in the middle which isn't bad considering. There was no Talking Dead, so we don't know if they will come on after episode 6 airs. We will have to wait and see.
