We’re back! It feels great to be reunited with our favorite characters in The Walking Dead. The series picks up with the aftermath of the bridge explosion and Rick’s fate after Jadis takes him away to the CRM. Over the years, we’ve had glimpses into this organization, but now we’re getting a closer look. We’ve had some idea of what the A’s and B’s were, but now we know exactly what they mean. Despite Rick’s attempts to escape, the CRM leadership has a different plan for him. In any case, the first episode of the series was fantastic, and we’re excited to see where it takes us.

For episode 157 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Dead City Edition, Brian, Kyle, and LT talk through The Walking Dead: Dead City, Season 1, Episode 6, titled Doma Smo. Written by Eli Jorne and directed by Gandja Monteiro. Tensions between Maggie and Negan come to a Head; Ginny's search continues; questions arise around Armstrong's path forward.

Hey Survivors! Well, we have come to an end with a new beginning with the announcement of Season 2 of Dead City. Am I the only one who thought that they originally were saying this was just a 6 episode mini-series or something like that? That's what I thought coming in, but after we got into episode 3, it just felt like there was no way they were going to be able to wrap it up, so there had to be more coming. Anyway. 

So with this episode and season finale, we get what the main story is going to be. The Croat, with his lady friend, wanted Negan, based on his reputation, to come in and start a franchise with his persuasion skills to unite the boroughs of New York to protect against the coming threat of the outside, i.e. New Babylon. Because they have methane which is a resource to run civilization off the dead. Maggie gets what she wants except killing Negan, and that she seems to be suffering from bipolar disorder with all the back and forth in almost every scene. One minute it looks like she has a bit of compassion on Negan, knowing what he's going through for all the bad he has done to outright crazy eye Kill Kill Kill. And if this was the plan the whole time, why would she jeopardize Herschel by offing Negan? It just didn't make sense. Anyway, Ginny finally speaks her first words.. the whole three or four of them for the entire season, and Negan basically tells her.. hey I killed your dad now, scram. So whatever that means going forward. This season really just didn't land on the expectations we had for this show. And again, we are rehashing a lot of stuff we have already seen. So it just isn't all that interesting and just leaving us with a big o' Meh for whatever they have for us in Season 2. We hope we are wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

Written by Brenna Kouf and directed by Gandja Monteiro. Truths are unearthed and motives are revealed as Maggie, Negan and the others travel further into the city's depths.

Hey survivors, Well, it looks like not only did you all not really like this episode, we were in the same boat. The Negan and Marshall interaction was pretty good, but the Maggie and Ginny sewer adventures were kind of boring. In true red shirt fashion, the Leftover Yorkers, Amaia and Tommaso, were taken out by walkers that you could see from a mile away. I mean, really, taking a break in the middle of a room full of staked dead bodies, and you don't even think to yourself, maybe one of these is a walker that could kill me? I mean, come on. It was a missed opportunity by the writers when just after that, we got one of the most creative walkers we have ever seen. The Walker King was so freaking and terrifying. It was the best part of this episode by far, and they could have used that scene better than what we got. Also, we didn't know her name or what she was being called, but Glynis referred to the new character as The Dama. Who is she? Why are we just not seeing her with only one more episode to go? So The Croat is not the main villain and who are these other people we saw there? So many questions, and are we even going to get an answer? Brian made a good point in that the sneak peek for next week did not refer to that episode as the finale, so is this show really over? Or were they holding back news that we are getting more? because from how it feels there is not enough time to wrap this all up with just one more episode. So that will be something we will see next week.

Hey survivors, here is this week's episode covering The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 Episode 4, titled Everybody Wins a Prize. 

So things are starting to heat up with one side, Maggie and the Yorker leftovers, and their plus one, Ginny. Ugh, this non-speaking character is really becoming annoying because what is the point of her? She is just there, doing nothing for the story besides being a distraction. We, as well as you listeners, have the same questions we do. Where does she fit in all this, and will we even see something? If you asked me, they could have just left her out of the whole season. 

Negan is on the other side playing hide and go seek, or tag your it, or whatever with The Croat. We did get more backstory on The Croat and a guest appearance from Simon, which was unexpected but so great to see. It really did make the episode better and made for some fun scenes between him and Negan. Next week looks interesting as well because, at this point, the arena is filled with walkers, and everyone bailed to go somewhere else. 

Anyway, great feedback, as always. We have two more episodes left, so let's hope they stick the landing and give us some entertaining television.

For episode 154 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Dead City Edition, Kyle, LT, and Brian talk through The Walking Dead: Dead City, Season 1, Episode 3, titled People Are A Resource. Written by Keith Staskiewicz and directed by Kevin Dowling. Dark instincts reveal themselves as Maggie and Negan form a strategy; Armstrong is tested; Ginny embarks on a daring journey.

This was another centric episode of Negan being Negan. That speech he gave to convince the Yorkers to stand up against The Croat was such an awesome scene, and Maggie seemingly put aside her dislike for Negan, but then we also see that there is something more to her story than what we have been seeing. What motives does she really have? Why exactly did The Croat take Hershel? Was it really what she said it was? I guess we will see because she seems to be hiding something.

Jenny is in New York, and this whole story thread of hers just seems like a setup to put Negan in a tight spot with someone he cares about when he faces The Croat. Otherwise, why is she even here? That goes for The Marshal. These side stories, while interesting, just seem like we could have done without with a six episode season. But at least it seems like, with three episodes down, they are moving right along to what we can only tell will be an epic battle. Also, it's pretty interesting that, once again, Negan being Negan, he kills Luther, well, he was defending himself, but still the outcome was his death which is going to really put him in a pickle trying to keep the Yorkers on the mission. Also, what is Maggie going to think?

For episode 153 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Dead City Edition, Kyle, LT, and Brian talk through The Walking Dead: Dead City, Season 1, Episode 2, titled Who's There? Written by Eli Jorne and directed by Loren Yaconelli. Maggie and Negan encounter native New Yorkers; Armstrong revisits a trauma; Ginny attempts to adapt to change.

This was another good episode with Negan reverting back to his old ways but for good. He's not hurting anyone but bad people. Maggie obviously is still suffering from PTSD from what Negan did back in the day. And we understand that but just feel like this disconnect between what we saw in the finale of The Walking Dead to where we are now. 2 years later. So yeah, I get it, but hopefully, she can get past it, use Negan's abilities, and save Hearsel from the Throat. .... um.. Croat (spell check). WTH?! lol.

For this episode 105 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, LT, and Brian talk through the mid-season finale, Season 8 Episode 6 of Fear the Walking Dead titled All I See Is Red, written by Andrew Chambliss & Ian Goldberg and directed by Michael E. Satrazemis. They also discuss the premiere of The Walking Dead: Dead City, Season 1, Episode 1, titled Old Acquaintances. Fear's episode description: Morgan fights his past as he and Madison race to stop PADRE expansion.

Hey Survivors! Wow, did we get some walking dead action last Sunday. Fear finally wrapped up PADRE baby snatching ways and sent it off with some much-needed deaths; Mogan relapsed into his 'Clear' ways, but with some help from Madison and little Mo was able to recover and looks like he is on to new and better things with little Mo in tow. Madison is taking the show's reins for the back half, and while some have speculated that Troy Otto is returning, LT has another idea, and I think we agree with his speculation. But we will have to see when Fear returns this fall.

Now, on to something bigger and badder. The Walking Dead: Dead City premiered, and did it bring some of the O'Walking Days of yor to our television screens. There were some questions about what was going on with the Marshall on one end, The Croat on the other, and Maggie and Negan in the middle. What is the connection, if any, between the Marshall and the Croat? Is he just the big main baddie or the Marshall? Why does he have little... well, now much older Herschel. Anyway, there are many questions, and I hope we get some decent answers. The atmosphere of Manhattan was stellar, and many fun, creepy tense moments have been a long time coming. So we are looking forward to the next 5 episodes and a fun ride.

Some good news: Brian could finally join us on the podcast. He only has seen episode 1 of Season 8 Fear, but if he is able to catch up we will hear his thoughts. But in the meantime, he should be able to join us while we cover Dead City, and so happy he can join us. We've miss you, Brian.
