In general, sin must be acknowledged and confessed in order to be forgiven

Several testimonies from the Bible make clear that God uses His Word to convict us of our sins and sinfulness. The Holy Spirit opens our hearts to the reality of our lives: That is how we find out how dirty of sin we really are. But the Holy Spirit also brings us to Jesus Christ to find forgiveness of all our sins in Him.

Nobody can confess every sin he or she has done. We easily forget many of our sins. We only create a hindrance when we deliberately refrain from confessing particular sins, in order to continue doing these sins. Don’t fear confessing all your sins! Read and reread 1 John 1:8-9: “If we say we have no sins, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to clean us from all unrighteousness.”

The Bible mentions two specific types of fear. The first type is beneficial and is to be encouraged. The second type is a detriment and is to be overcome. The first type of fear is fear of the Lord. This type of fear does not necessarily mean being afraid of something. Rather, it is a reverential awe of God, a reverence for His power and glory. However, it is also a proper respect for His wrath and anger. In other words, the fear of the Lord is a total acknowledgment of all that God is, which comes through knowing Him and His attributes. It is the desire of most Christians today to have God work through them in a powerful way. However, what many Christians do not know is that God has the same desire to work through each and every one of His children. We have seen some men and women in the Body of Christ operate in great and powerful anointings, but God desires to work through each and every one of His children in a powerful way. The short answer is that we believe Jesus is the only-begotten Son of God, the only mediator between God and man, and the only savior by which men may be saved. He is head of the church, heir of all things, creator of the world, and judge of the world.
