He holds a doctorate in public health from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and a medical degree from Columbia University. He is the host of the “America Dissected: Coronavirus” podcast and a CNN commentator. Senator Bernie Sanders has referred to him as “one of the brightest young stars in the future of the progressive movement.” He is a former candidate for Governor of Michigan, and was one of eight appointees to the Biden-Sanders "Unity Task Force" on healthcare. The organization is working on the Vote Yes campaign for a redistricting reform amendment.  Before leaving to run the vote yes campaign, Brian was Executive Director of OneVirginia2021, which raised the issue of ending gerrymandering in Virginia. While in law school, Brian studied election law and was on one of the winning teams in the 2011 state-wide redistricting competition. We discuss the state of undoing gerrymandering in Virginia and around the United States.

She is a retired FBI agent and former Minneapolis Division Legal Counsel who testified about the FBI's pre 9-11 lapses as a whistle-blower in 2002 to staffers of the Joint Intelligence Committees' Inquiry; the Senate Judiciary Committee; and to investigators of the Inspector General of the Department of Justice. Along with two other whistle-blowers, she was selected that year as Time Magazine's "Persons of the Year." Coleen Rowley has been a terrific activist and advocate for peace and justice ever since.

Ray McGovern was an infantry/intelligence officer in the early Sixties, and became a CIA analyst.  His duties eventually included chairing National Intelligence Estimates and preparing The President’s Daily Brief. He conducted the one-on-one morning briefings of President Reagan’s five most senior national security officials, including VP Bush, from 1981 to 1985. In retirement Ray co-founded Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) -- an attempt by intelligence veterans to hold former colleagues to account for “fixing” intelligence to “justify” wars like Iraq. Ann Wright resigned from the U.S. government in March 2003 in opposition to the war on Iraq. She is the co-author of Dissent: Voices of Conscience.

Marjorie Cohn is professor emerita at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, former president of the National Lawyers Guild, deputy secretary general of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers, and a member of the National Advisory Board of Veterans for Peace. She writes frequent columns about human rights, U.S. foreign policy, and the contradiction between the two.
