  • Season 7, Episode 16 - THE ZUBOV (#56) with guests Jen Glenwright and Dan Emberg from APUCKLYPSE NOW!

It's that time again friends - that's right, we're back with episode 16, #56 - the Zubov! I bet you didn't know that stellar hall of fame defenseman Sergei Zubov, and 3 of his teammates on the 1994 Rangers squad, were the first Russian born players to have their names etched on Lord Stanley's cup! Word is he also liked to smoke a dart or two between periods - pretty hardcore, don't ya think?

Then, we're joined by a couple of real beauties - Jen Glenwright and Dan Emberg, who are part of the organizing committee for one of our favourite events of the year - APUCKALYPSE NOW! This great ODR tourney is back for it's 13th edition and will once again take place at Bourkevale Community Centre. We give you the full rundown - the history, the hijinks and the stories of great camaraderie, plus we touch on this year's spooooooooooooky theme! It's a great interview and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

  • Season 7, Episode 15 - THE MURPHY (#55)

The boys are back at it with our last show for the month of January with a little episode that we're calling the MURPHY, in honour of a real beauty of an offensive defenceman - Larry Murphy! Not only is Murphs the only #55 to be enshrined in the Hockey Hall Of Fame, he was on the ice for arguably the greatest goal in Canadian hockey history - just check out his grin!

Then we talk about an absolute beast of a trade between Carolina and Colorado, with a little Chicago sprinkled in. It's rare to see a player like Mikko Rantanen get traded, even rarer to see it happen in season. We break it down and talk about what it might mean for teams with UFA's looming, like your Winnipeg Jets!

And then finally, we break down co-host Tom's weekend long hockey odyssey - ODR's and 4x4's, with a little GHL sprinkled in.

  • Season 7, Episode 14 - THE McQUAID (#54)

Did you know that before 1992, no one in the league had worn #54 in a game - Jim Vesey, father of Jimmy, did it first and 73 others have followed in 32 years since! We figure the most notable is a good east boy, pride of Charlottetown - Darth Quaider himself, Mr. Adam McQuaid! He was a good stay at home d-man for Boston, the New York Rangers and Columbus amassing 512 games and winning a cup with the B's in 2010-11.

Then we dissect what's going on in Vancouver as the Canucks seem in some serious disarray - Co-Host Tom puts on GM Patrik Alvin's pants and figured out whose gotta go - J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson.

Finally, we talk fun stat lines - goals being scored without shots, goalies getting ginos AND apples, and will Eric Comrie ever get some help?

  • Season 7, Episode 13 - THE MORRIS (#53)

Back at it on chilly Monday with an episode we're calling The Morris, after Derek Morris - a good stay at home defenseman who played 1100 plus games in the league with Calgary, Colorado, Phoenix and the Rangers. He wore the maple leaf a few times, notably winning a gold medal in 2004 at the Hockey World Championships on a team full of real beauties!

Then, we tip our cap to our local tendy - #37 Connor Hellebuyck who just notched career win number 300, to go along with 43 (!!) career shutouts and 500 games played. Are we seeing the best goalie in the world right now in our own backyard? It sure feels like it most nights...

And then it's all about the flow bro, as we talk hockey hair! The greasier and fluffier the better - all this, plus a trio of pop punk bangers from north of the border!

  • Season 7, Episode 12 - THE FOOTE (#52)

The boys are live in 2025 - our first episode of the new year is a nod to noted stay at home D-man Adam Foote, a two time cup champion and a pillar on some really great Avalanche teams. Did you know he was the last Quebec Nordique standing? Neither did we, but you know, we're all about the learning here on the big show!

We talk about Team Canada World Junior disappointment, again, and look at some steps that the maple leaf might need to take to get back to golden glory. We also talk the Jet's mini-slide into 2025 and talk potential playoff implications for some teams on the bubble - a little early, perhaps, but that's what we do!

And finally we get excited to get back on the ice and talk about our own upcoming beer league adventures...

  • Season 7, Episode 11 - THE CAMPBELL (#51)

After a week off to take part in the seasonal merriment, the boys are back to talk a little hockey with an episode we're calling THE CAMPBELL! That's right, we're giving a nod to Brian "Soupy" Campbell, a great offensive d-man who wore #51 for his entire career, which included stops in Buffalo, San Jose, Chicago and Florida. He won a cup, a Lady Byng and we think that makes Soupy superb!

Then we talk World Juniors thus far - Canada is getting good tending, but has yet to find their scoring touch on the eve of a big December 31st matchup against the US! Then we catch up on the Jets, who have been having a festive holiday season and aim to finish 2024 on top of the whole darn league!

In our final segment, co-host Tom puts on Chevy's new boxing day pants and considers what should be done with free agent to be Nikolaj Ehlers, who seems to be heating up!

All this and we play some musical favourites from 2024!

  • Season 7, Episode 10 - THE CRAWFORD (#50)

Not a lot of fellas have worn number 50, but 'tendy supreme Corey Crawford certainly stands out as a two-time Stanley Cup and Jennings award winner. He backstopped a few monster Blackhawk teams in the 2010's before his career trailed off and ended prematurely due to concussion issues - he's a real beauty though and we had fun talking about him and his many nicknames!

Then in period two, we fill you in on all of the must haves for your favourite hockey player this holiday season - we're not talking shiny bells and whistles here, we're giving you the essentials. And we spend way too much time talking about stick tape and the best ways to apply it...

And then, it's almost time for another holiday favourite - the World Junior Hockey Championships! The big tourney kicks off with Canada vs Finland in the nation's capital on Boxing Day, and we talk a little bit about this year's squad of fresh faces.

All this and some weird Christmas tunes...

  • Season 7, Episode 9 - THE SAVAGE (#49) with guest Chris “Keener” Dougherty (Keener Jerseys)

The boys are back with episode 9, number 49, with a nod to a good ol' Sudbury boy - Brian Savage, who wore the number for his entire career which included stops in Montreal, Phoenix, St. Louis and Philadelphia. Word is he's a pretty stellar street hockey player as well!

Then, we're pretty stoked to be joined by local legend Chris “Keener” Dougherty, who's the driving force behind Keener Jerseys. Not only do they outfit the best of the Winnipeg Beer League circuit, but they've expanded operations into working with a number of NHL teams as well! Great conversation with a real class act who takes us behind the sweater so to speak!

Finally, we talk about our own personal jersey Mount Rushmores and talk about the big trade sending Jacob Trouba to the sunshine state!

  • Season 7, Episode 8 - THE BRIÈRE (#48)

Co-host Tom is still under the weather, but he's a gamer and we're back for a new episode - talking all about a great 48, player turned GM, Daniel Brière! This man of many great nicknames plied his trade with Phoenix, Buffalo and Philly and then finished with short, unmemorable stints in Montreal and Colorado.

Then, Tom puts on GM Doug Armstrong's pants and projects the final roster for Canada's roster for the upcoming Four Nation's Cup! Lot's of bubble buzz and who's between the pipes?!?!

Finally, a quick chat about the Jets and their road woes - getting back to the 204 for some home cookin' can't come soon enough!

  • Season 7, Episode 7 - THE LEBEAU (#47)

We're back in the game with our final episode of November - episode 7, celebrating number 47 - the Lebeau! That's right, we're talking Stéphan Lebeau, the second all time points and goal leader for the QMJHL! He had a good run early in his career with the Montreal Canadians winning a cup in 1992/93. He finished up in Anaheim before heading over Switzerland, playing 6 seasons in the Swiss A League.

We also do a quick Jets check in, before breaking down what the heck is wrong with the once mighty Pittsburgh Penguins. Co-host Tom slips on GM Kyle Dubas's pants and tells us if they should tear it down, trade Sid the Kid or try and rebuild on the fly.

And we finish off with a rapid fire hot stove, as Tom gives his quick takes on some of this week's big stories - all this and some good tunes too!
