Record­ed on Good Fri­day as the lads find them­selves with a lit­tle time on their hands, this one’s been chris­tened in hon­our (!?!?) of Claude Lemieux — one of the great­est agi­ta­tors to ever play the game, and agi­ta­tor’s a word that my grand­ma would’ve used to say a‑hole. He won 3 cups and the only friends he made along the way were prob­a­bly his teammates…

Then we talk about the Jets who are strug­gling to say the least — at the time of record­ing, they’ve lost 5 straight and need to right the plane soon, lest they slip into one of those wild­card spots.

And final­ly we talk about all of the fans mas­querad­ing as emp­ty seats around the league — it’s clear­ly not just a prob­lem north of the border.

We’re back talkin’ about a bonafide hock­ey leg­end — inter­na­tion­al super­star Peter Fors­berg! The man known as Fop­pa, or Peter The Great, was an absolute force in inter­na­tion­al play and still holds the record for World Junior points — both career and in an indi­vid­ual tour­ney. Sad­ly his NHL career was ham­pered by injuries, but he was still part of two cup win­ning teams in Col­orado, and was a key part of one of the league’s biggest trades ever!

Then we talk Jets — the boys had been hit­tin’ the snooze on their east coast swing and have dropped three in a row. Time for some home cook­ing and hope­ful­ly a return to form before they hit the home stretch.

And final­ly, fan­ta­sy play­offs are upon us — does Tom­my’s squad squeak in or does his sea­son long ​‘tendy woes do him in — so much math!

After a week away, the boys are back with Episode 20 — some­thing we’re call­ing the Suter after Flames (and US Hock­ey) leg­end Gary Lee Suter — though his nephew Ryan wears the big two-oh as well! We find out that this Stan­ley Cup and Calder Tro­phy win­ner had a bit of nasty edge when dip­ping his toe in inter­na­tion­al waters, much to Tom­my’s shock and dis­may, but he repped the stars and stripes when­ev­er called upon and is tru­ly an Amer­i­can great!

We talk about our Jets who are rollin’ towards the play­offs with their new addi­tions fir­ing on all cylin­ders, and we recap the Garage League of Hock­ey finale — big shouts to this year’s champs The Spare Parts!

The fel­las are back this week­end talkin’ about anoth­er beau­ty, the pride of Kelv­ing­ton, SK — #17, Mr. Wen­del Clark. He’s a real Leaf’s leg­end and cer­tain­ly a char­ter mem­ber of the pro hock­ey mous­tache hall of fame!

Then they dis­cuss the brouha­ha between the Leafs and the Sen­a­tors — emp­ty net clap­pers, unnec­es­sary cross­checks and the ​“code” — plus a com­pare and con­trast to oth­er sus­pen­sions this year.

And final­ly a break­down and Jets com­ings and goings — get­ting back in the win col­umn and look­ing for­ward to the upcom­ing slate of games.

The lads are back with episode 16, a real beau­ty named after a real beau­ty — the Tuck­er, as in Leaf’s leg­end Dar­cy Tuck­er. He had a tidy 940 plus game career, mak­ing his mark as a guy you hat­ed to play against but loved hav­ing as a teammate!

We’re back after a week off with episode 15 — The Bob­by Smith! The fel­las tell you about this for­mer North Star, Hab and Ottawa 67 who had a tidy lit­tle career, putting up almost a point per game dur­ing his 1000 plus game career! He was the first (???) Nova Sco­tia born play­er to go #1 over­all, and it’s true that he once even beat the Great One in a scor­ing race by 10 points — nice job Robert!

Then we break down the recent devel­op­ments in the hor­ri­ble Team Cana­da scan­dal in con­nec­tion with an inves­ti­ga­tion into an alleged sex­u­al assault by sev­er­al mem­bers of Canada’s 2018 world junior team.

And final­ly, the Win­nipeg Jet’s recent swoon has got­ta have fans feel­ing a lit­tle déjà vu — can Old Bones right the ship post-All Star Break?

It’s cold out­side, but this week’s episode is red hot as the boys talk about a real beau­ty — Bren­dan Shana­han. Cer­tain­ly one of the top 100 of all time, Shan­ny was a hard-nosed scor­er for the Dev­ils, Blues, Whalers, Red Wings and Rangers and repped his coun­try a num­ber of times, join­ing the elu­sive Triple Gold club and set­ting an (un)official record for Gordie Howe hat­tricks! Plus, he’s been the archi­tect of the ​“Shana­plan”, try­ing to lead the Maple Leafs to glo­ry for the past 10 years!

We also dis­cuss this year’s all­star game — who’s in, who’s out and who’s fan base is stuff­ing the bal­lot box — some great throw­back tunes this week too!
