Talkin' Schmit

Jason Adams checks in from his studio in San Jose for my first in person interview since the pandemic. Really stoked on this one although my mic had some issues,(but who needs to hear me talk anyways). Listen to Jason talk about growing up in San Jose, meeting Salman Agah and discovering skateboarding, early days of Think and becoming pro, living with Tim Brauch, getting named 'The Kid' by Corey OBrien, his epic route 66 trip, Slappy hour and his art, and so much more. Also, I want to thank Jason for opening up, being honest, and showing vulnerability as we dive into his sobriety and his recent rehab situation. Hopefully his story can help someone out there that is struggling. It's 8.23.2022 — this marks 24 years since Phil Shao passed and this episode is dedicated to him. Spread the love everyone, we ain't here long enough to fuss and fight. Cheers!

So thrilled to have Steve Alba on this week. In the same way I honored BK with episode 43, I handed Salba 169 and we carved our asses off for over 3.5 hours. Listen and learn as we talk about early days of Thrasher Magazine, winning the first organized pool contest at Hester series, influencing slam dancing at Kezar in SF, getting busted skating pipes with Phelps in Texas, opening for Guns and Roses, working with Jim Phillips on his graphics, Bob Burnquist at Baldy, Hackett doing the loop, Montana vs Brady and much much more. The honor is all mine Steve—I didn't want to cut any of it out. Appreciate you!
