Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 73 - This week the guys try to stay on topic as they discuss their fabulous celebrity lives.  In the news they talk about the demise of American Idol; Art seems to have found a cathartic relationship with the old show, while Eric is just ready to say goodbye.  Next the the guys talk about the latest inductions into the Rock and Roll hall of fame and the drama that will always accompany older rock groups.  Interesting peeks into the lives of Eric and Art ensues as Art gives us insight into the discovery that music actually makes people happy. In the songwriting section the guys break down the song Renegades by X Ambassadors.  It is an interesting song to really break down as there is much to be learned from a production aspect. • Episode #72 - The Loops are on fire!
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 72 - This week the guys talk about Kanye West again, but this time we promise it's interesting.  If you thought a mashup between Beethoven and Kanye was impossible...think again as the guys break down the potential impact.  Art gives us the news that he is a Batman fantatic, which may or may not actually be news to the Talking About Noise fanbase.  Finally the guys discuss the importance of MC Hammer on 90's culture and why he isn't touring with the 90's bash concert; which brings up the next question as to why the Talking About Noise show isn't going on tour this summer. In the production segment Art breaks down his new video, "Hero Blues" where he was playing different Brass instruments and working with looper pedals and with different video loops. • Episode #71 - Well call me Kardashian
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 71 - Thank you for your patience this last week as we had some technical difficulties...This week we bring you an "Art Rant" (TM) about content aggregators before you even get a chance to settle in.  The news session is off the hook as we have multiple "Kanye Watches!" (TM) Kanye actually updated his music while it was live on TIDAL, just like you'd upgrade a software program;  then we blow your mind even more about how he opened a new clothing store just for 2 days and then shut it down cause he's the Robin Hood of this generation. If we were in Star Wars our catch phrase would clearly be, "The Kanye is strong with us"....and even then we love Kanye so much we're practically Kardashian. In the lyric section we discuss using stresses, rhyme structures and amount of lines that we can use in creating our lyrics.  Join us as we deconstruct Common Meter and why it's a good starting point, not necessarily a good ending point. • Episode #70 - Man sickness?
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 70 - This week the guys decide to go financial and breakdown the sale of Michael Jackson's song estate back to Sony, and what that means for their new business plans, such as bots!  In other news the guys try to break down how the streaming music industry is working and how it might possibly not work in the future.  This may or may not include the brand new streaming service "Talking about Getting Rich" or TAGR streaming, brought to you by us here at Talking About Noise. In Eric's songwriting segment we breakdown the song Wanna Get Better by Bleachers.  If you get a chance go support these artists because this is a fantastic song and there is a lot we can learn from this song as artists and songwriters. • Episode #69 - We are video famous
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 69 - We are live and have an actual YouTube Video.  It's time to become internet famous people!  In today's podcast the guys talk about Eric's year of 100 songs and his upcoming live shows...if it ever happens. In the news Art and Eric talk about our "twerk nation" and how your show could possibly get banned or cancelled if you include twerking.  Be careful out there with your twerking people.  Then we talk about how bad the job market is for people who want to work in the music streaming business, or just the music business for that matter. In the Production segment Art gives a rundown of how he records and produces bass.  He gives us multiple experiences with different EQ and Compression.  This is actually a fun little segment to give any good ideas on using different types of EQ and Comp with your bass tracks. • Episode #68 repost
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 68 - Today the guys decide to jump right into the "Kanye watch" and decide to discuss if Kanye is 50% more important than Camels or 50% more important than himself, which would probably make the most sense After a long and drawn out discussion about how awesome Kanye is for our lives, Art and Eric throw down in our battle of the musicians in discussing Halsey's statement that guitar music is nostalgic.  I don't think a more important debate has ever occurred on the internet, and this debate was at least 50% more important than the Deadpool movie....at least 50%. In the music segment this week we decided to analyze the song "Just what I needed" by the Cars.  Once again there is nothing better in life than breaking down these songs and learning something from the best songs out there.  This is the highlight of the week and is clearly 50% more influential than peanut butter.  This song is actually a fascinating song to analyze. • Episode #67 - We are still here
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 67 - Our feed died so all of you may need to re-subscribe to our podcast again, so we all hope you do so.  We have our motto: no listener left behind. This week Eric and Art discuss the lawsuit with Warner music and their copyright of the song "Happy Birthday."  Just when you thought it was safe to sing that song royalty free at your birthday, you may be slapped with a licensing fee by Warner music.  Once again we learn to be very careful with what we sing in public because who knows what copyright infringement you might engage in.  In other news we learn that all our modern problems can be blamed on Mickey the Mouse. In the Kanye Alert this week we talk about Kanye dissing, then un-dissing Michael Jordan.  At this point there is nothing Michael Jordan could do to offend us, so obviously we are shaming Kanye...maybe because he's a gay fish? In Art's songwriting segment he discusses how to create a MIDI drum loop for a song, and somehow happens to bring the Tuba back into the mainstream.  Check out what Art has come up with and see how the guys break down Arts new song. • Episode #66 - We are the original
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 66 - The guys are back for another week of serious music discussion.  Eric got invited to audition for America's Got Talent, which was a shock to both Art and Eric that the show was still going or even a greater shock that Eric and Art are now AA list celebrities. In the news Eric brings up the fact that Weezer had a person spend 25K to hang out with Rivers Cuomo and that wouldn't have happened had the podcast not existed, because obviously a TAN listener was the one who purchased this option after hearing the guys talk about Weezer's new album on the last podcast.  Then Eric and Art discuss the twitter war that ensued between Wiz Khalifa and our friend of the podcast, Kanye West, obviously we side with Kanye on this one! In the songwriters segment we breakdown the song One by U2, which is actually a pretty easy target as far as songwriting goes, but here is a lot of good stuff that can be learned by analyzing this amazing song. So dive in and listen and Art and Eric break it down like it's hot for the listeners. • Episode #65 - What's the motto with you?
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 65 - Art and Eric seem to have a bit of ADD these days as they can't even stay on topic, even when the topic is 5 seconds long. The guys discuss creating an archive for the podcast since they are now in season 3 and have so much experience under their belts. In the news the guys discuss Kanye West first, of course, since Kanye is the voice of our generation.  In the modern digital world we discuss the news of songwriters getting paid for their songs on streaming sites, not just production companies and performers but the actual songwriters, this is a very interesting development in the 150M dollar lawsuit against Pandora. In the song production segment Art gives us some direction on how to create a YouTube video that won't look like your garage band style video.  Remember to use the "Infocus Front" camera and the "Blurry Back."  Next Art decides to plug in live with a Baritone Guitar...yes you heard that correct a Baritone Guitar and he discusses how to use an open tuning to make your live shows pop and sizzle, or if not your live shows your YouTube videos and if not your videos your at least the shows in front of your cats. Remember kids, playing with "Poly" Chords will change your life forever. • Episode #64 - Here's Johnny!
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 64 - The whole gang is back including Art and Eric. Welcome to season 3 of the podcast, hopefully in this season we'll see some actual character development.  Eric wants to have a centerfold in his newest album and wants Art to join in and we just need to push Art a little bit more and I think he'll do it. In the news Eric and Art discuss the recent passings of major musicians (Scott Weiland, Lemmy, David Bowie) and how that affects the music industry.  Then somehow this devolved into discussing whether our current music industry is a "golden age" or some other type of music age, maybe an industrial age? In the songwriting segment we break down Pink Floyd's song Comfortably numb.  Lots to learn from this very popular song, especially how they specifically utilize the hook of this song and using the solo right after the initial chorus.
