Episode 63 - Welcome to the Baseball history lesson podcast, where Art attempts to give us a history lesson about baseball.  Art and Eric are now working on a music duo gig and plan on going live sometimes next year.  You get to be the excited listeners that get to judge us before the band even breaks up. In the news the guys discuss Miley Cyrus and the Flaming Lips going on tour together.  Eric seeks to emulate Cyrus in her live performing chops by singing to a dead fish.  Then Eric discusses the most recent article on how to pitch your music to A&R reps, while Art gets quizzed on each aspect of the article.  Finally Art gives us a breakdown of the American Music Awards and how much he absolutely loves Demi Lovato.  If you were wondering, he absolutely loves her to the point of loathing. In the music production segment Eric interviews Michael Gibbons a musician, guitarist, producer, music engineer at Platinum Sound and Mastering.  Please visit their webpage as they have a fantastic recording and mastering facility in Bountiful UT This is our last podcast of 2015, we are taking a winter break, so we hope to see you in the next year! • Episode #62 - Let's get the band back together man
Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! Episode 62 - In this podcast Eric and Art learned how to solve all the worlds problems in a little under 7 minutes, but since they forgot to hit the record button it looks as if we'll have to stay with the status quo...for now.  As far as music news goes we discuss the reasons Guns n Roses may come back together, or the reasons they may not.  It turns out not all us artists are as absolutely crazy as Axl Rose is.  Also in the news this week we learn that Ringo Starr is selling some of his old Beatles Drum sets as well as other guitars and odds and ends. It turns out that we need the entire TAN fanbase to chip in and buy this drumset for us, so we can play an official "Talking About Noise Set" on the old rooftop of the Beatles last live gig so we can get arrested, and record it all... in the name of science. In the production segment today we discuss playing with microphones again.  At this point we might call this Art's obsession since he loves his microphones as much as, or even more than, his kids.  Art plays with vocals from different positions and angles and we learn and benefit thereby. Visit Studio A here, and share your mixes with the world; this is going to be a lot of fun. Next we discuss Ozzy Osborne's indiscretion of being banned from San Antonio for urinating on an Alamo landmark clear back in 1986 and is finally re-visiting this landmark for a History Channel show he and his son are now hosting.  Finally We discuss Abelton Live releasing to 9.5, which means you should buy and update to the new version if your made of money, or at least use money to keep your fireplace going. In our Songwriting segment we discuss Joni Mitchell and her song Blue.  This turns out to be a very difficult song to dissect, but the hope is always that we can learn something from this style of songwriting, regardless how how Eric feels about the song or songwriter. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast and share us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ ! In our production segment Art and Eric discuss how to record a piano using only your smartphone as your primary microphone. Art took the time to record a piano in multiple positions to see which position worked the best for him.  We always encourage trying out different positions, because you never know which position will be the best one for your style and energy level. Please look into completing your orders for the limited edition Talking About Noise (TBN) Spandex to celebrate this holiday. In the news we talk about Politicians using artists music without permission, and then we talk about whether artists are making any money period.  We are still open to starting our business of writing knockoff pop songs that politicians can use, so send in your resumes today. In the songwriting segment we discuss one of the top 100 songwriters of all time (according to Rolling Stone) and this week we discuss Paul Simon.  We decide to break down his song written with Art Garfunkel "Cecilia."  Once again another good song with an interesting composition structure from which we can learn some valuable lessons, the first of which being, have a love affair that you can actually write about.
