I talk about how I've started to really enjoy shopping my heart out online, filling a cart and then abandoning it.  It scratches that itch I get to do something nice for myself/buy something, without the cost or buyer's remorse.  I highly recommend it.

I also talk about how my new boss is really relatable and acts quite human, aka "normal", at work, so that I don't feel like I have to be "on" every second I'm there.

I talk about how my real plumber finally came back to help me with my washer and dryer and how I discovered that Nick messed up parts of my plumbing pretty badly when he put in the PECS.  I was pretty upset about hearing that news and then angry that Ricky was pointing this stuff out to me and acting like I really messed up by hiring this other person when Ricky was the one who wouldn't come back no matter how many times I asked.  I'm so sick of getting the runaround and feel like this wouldn't be happening if I was a man.

I talk about all the vaccine stuff and negativity surrounding it that's on the news and at work.  (N.B.  I state some information about the percentage of people vaccinated in the U.S. that is incorrect, so please disregard that part of the podcast.)  I am irritated because people at work don't want to  sign up on the vaccine registry at work even though they are vaccinated, thus preventing the campus from going mask-free, because our numbers are too low.

I also talk about going over to a bar near work last night, which was a Monday, and how many people were there. I acted like it was the weekend, which I had no business doing, so I'm disappointed in myself.  I had fun, but it's really strange partying on a Monday.

I talk about how good it feels to take back a whole bunch of stuff that I didn't actually need.  I returned the push mower that I was on the fence about and am so glad I did.  It definitely felt like I removed a weight from my shoulders.  I also was able to set up the makeshift kitchen on the second floor.  Henry brought over the old childhood shelves from 59th St. and we set them up as the pantry area.  I feel like I've taken one more step towards making the house better.

I talk about how I've been listening to some of Eileen McKusick's clearing calls about food and the body and how I really enjoy her style and delivery of content.  I like how she mixes the science with the energy and comes at the work from a really practical and researched point of view.  I love how open she is when she's clearing and how she keeps the audience in the loop the entire time she's on the call.  Her transparency is very enjoyable to me.

I talk about how different it is having someone in the office with me all day.  Even though I like my new boss a lot, I feel all this pressure to perform every minute of the day and it's starting to affect me and impact how I'm taking care of myself.  

I talk about how well the kids are doing this summer so far and how poorly progress on the house is going.  I ultimately talk about many of the things I'm learning about archetypes from Carolyn Myss' book Sacred Contracts.  

I talk about how I finally took some massive action and unpacked all my books.  I was up until really late, but feel great, because I did something to get myself more settled in the house.  I also talk about dealing with my new plumber and how I feel gaslit by the whole exchange.

I talk about how nothing is getting done around the house anymore for a variety of reasons and excuses.  I also discuss how I'm not used to socializing anymore and after a busy few days need to take a break.

I talk about how I've been buying tickets to see live music and so have my friends and it's very exciting.  I can't wait to go hear some live music!!
