  • Bills Impose Their Will In Pittsburgh (LIVE Reactions)

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for tons of live reaction soon after the conclusion of the Buffalo Bills going to Pittsburgh and quite literally imposing their will on the Steelers, dominating them 26-7 to pick up an important eighth victory of the season.

The Bills ran the ball against the Steelers in Pittsburgh at their stadium quite literally like no one has in 50 years. Buffalo ran for 249 yards, including 144 from James Cook and 66 more from Ray Davis as the Bills held the ball for over 41 minutes. Pittsburgh was so helpless in the second half that head coach Mike Tomlin didn't even bother using his timeouts when the Bills were up 16 and chewing up the clock in the fourth quarter on a nine minute drive. Incredibly the Bills did this with not one but both their starting tackles out for the game. The guys talk about how the Bills produced what may not be pretty but is probably their best path to winning games in January with this performance.

The defense was very good when they were on the field, which wasn't a ton. The guys talk about Joey Bosa having one of the biggest plays of the season on the first snap of the third quarter that really changed the trajectory of this game. Plus, Shaq Thompson made his presence felt at middle linebacker in place of Terrel Bernard.

They have tons of other reactions from this mostly one side Bills win, including what it means in the standings, how they feel about Buffalo's fortunes going forward and tons more.

  • Bills At Steelers Preview & Bold Predictions

It's a bonus Saturday episode on today's Talking Buffalo, as Patrick Moran is previewing a Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers matchup on Sunday that's very important for both teams and as always includes three keys to a Buffalo victory, five bold predictions for the game and a final score prediction & guess.

Injuries have been a factor for the Bills all season long and perhaps at no point are they feeling that more than this week against a Steelers team in badly in need of a win as Buffalo. For the first time in a long time and perhaps his entire career, Josh Allen will be without both his starting tackles due to injury in a game as Dion Dawkins (concussion) and Spencer Brown have both been ruled out. That injured list also includes middle linebacker Terrell Bernard already ruled out and a handful of other guys questionable. Patrick talks about the injuries especially on the offensive and while it's unquestionably demoralizing and will hamper some of the things the offense may be able to to do, there is one silver lining worth explaining.

After some thoughts on how the Buffalo lineup may look with roster moves and practice squad elevations and spending time talkin about a Pittsburgh team with a lot of star power but not ranking very well on either side of the ball, Patrick gets into his three biggest keys to a Bills win, with the biggest a continuation of the dead horse he's been beating all week about the offense avoiding the turnovers that've killed them in previously losses this year.

Then it's time for five bold predictions and stuck to find five, Patrick enlists the help of his wife to come up with two.  That's followed by a prediction for a game and Patrick deliberates if he's going to go with his heart or his head for who leaves this game victorious. That plus Christmas season has arrived even for the holdouts and much more.

  • There's One Way For The Bills To Right The Ship

On this Black Friday episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran recovers from plates full of turkey to discuss several Buffalo Bills topics as they head towards the critical stretch of the regular season, including what he thinks is the one and only thing the Bills can control and do that can turn around what currently feels like a sinking ship.

The Bills aren't moving on from embattled offensive coordinator Joe Brady this late in the season. The receivers don't get open enough and arguably aren't good enough. There's just too many guys on defense playing well past their prime and of course injuries have been a big factor. It's too late to really do anything about that. So what can the Bills realistically find a way to get back to doing to save this season?

Patrick thinks it's simple----stop turning the ball over so much and get a few more takeaways of your own. The Bills turned the ball over three times in their loss at Houston last week and have turned it over a total of 11 times in their four losses alone this year. That's a far cry from last year, when they had just eight turnovers for the entire season! They've also failed to have a takeaway in three of their four losses and again, they led the NFL last year in turnover margin. Somehow, someway the Bills and specifically Josh Allen have to better at taking care of the football and the defense has to start producing some strips sacks, forced fumbles in the open field, interceptions or something to turn the tide for a defense that's at best inconsistent.

Patrick also has several thoughts on wide receiver Brandin Cooks signing with the Bills, cutting Elijah Moore and also adding defensive end Shaq Lawson---again. That plus plenty to be thankful for and a lot more. Happy Holiday season!

  • Bills Positional Analysis & Grades Heading Into Pittsburgh

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by SB Nation's Matt Warren for his weekly visit to discuss the Buffalo Bills, including their positional analysis and grades from last week's disaster in Houston before focusing squarely on a huge matchup this coming weekend in Pittsburgh against the Steelers.

It's not a pretty distinction to have but for the time being, the Bills have established themselves as a pretty lousy road team after falling in Houston 23-19, the third time the Bills have lost this season already as road favorites. Like they do every week, the guys go over the Bills positionally with Matt offering his analysis on how they looked last week and in some cases, for the season before assigning a grade.  There's little to no good grades to be had on the offensive side of the ball, but how did the defense fare in Matt's eyes?

They also spend some time on Sunday's game coming up against Pittsburgh, a pivotal one for the Bills. While the AFC east feels all but gone a victory over Pittsburgh pretty much guarantees they'd have to fall apart to miss the playoffs. A loss, however and Buffalo officially finds itself in a fight to make the postseason. That and plenty more.

  • Who Are These Streaky Sabres? Plus, Bills Road Woes

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Buffalo blogger and podcaster Chris Ostrander to discuss both the Buffalo Sabres and Bills, including trying to figure out what version of the Sabres are right now and if the Bills have officially become a bad road team.

The Sabres have become an incredibly streaky team and they've been riding a hot wave recently, winning four of their past five. They're just three points out of a wildcard as a result but also merely two points from being alone in the entire conference by themselves. Chris has plenty of thoughts on the good, bad and ugly of the team as it's now just past a quarter of the regular season gone. There's every bit of reason to have hope they can be a playoff team as a top five lottery team.

Meanwhile the Bills have lost three road games this season to three pretty average-to-bad quarterbacks. Buffalo faces what's suddenly become a borderline critical game on Sunday at Pittsburgh. The Bills are favored by Vegas in this game, but Patrick explains why he doesn't think they deserve to be. What does Chris think about what's going on with Buffalo and what realistically can change to send them on a path of having a realistic chance to come out of the AFC in January?

That and plenty more. Be sure to follow Chris on X at @2ITB_Buffalo and check out the Two in the Box blog in addition to the Instigator Podcast.

  • Can Bills Overcome Their Flaws? Plus, Hallmark Holiday Movie Review

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens to discuss if they think the Buffalo Bills can overcome what's becoming glaring roster flows. Plus, some hilarious takes on the new movie Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story.

The Bills didn't play this weekend and are still licking their wounds, literally and figuratively from their loss last Thursday night in Houston. The guys spend some time having a discussion of the flows with the roster and if the Bills can ultimately overcome it before it's too late, including certain guys regressing and playing in roles well past their prime, some core players who aren't playing like they're paid and young guys giving them next to nothing.

Patrick thinks the Bills even making the playoff isn't the lock that most think it is. Does Joe agree?

Also, the new Bills related Hallmark movie just dropped on Saturday and both guys watched it---Patrick twice because he loves cheesy Christmas movies and Joe because Patrick kinda forced him to. What are their thoughts---did Joe actually enjoy it? That and plenty more.

  • Bills Takeaways - Is This Season Realistically Toast?

On this bonus Saturday episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is going over all his biggest Buffalo Bills takeaways after seeing the film and going over stats on the heels of the Bills going to Houston and getting physically beat--and beat up against the Texans in their 23-19 loss.

The Bills can realistically kiss their hopes of winning a sixth straight AFC east division title goodbye. Before getting into Houston game specifics Patrick spends time discussing what's wrong with the roster for pretty much the entire season to this point and why it's unlikely to change.

As far as Houston, Patrick goes over all eight of Josh Allen's sacks and what went wrong---from an offensive line that was dominated to receivers not getting open, bad blocking schemes and a quarterback that was holding the ball for too long. Also, it led to three more Bills giveaways as the team has shockingly become a turnover machine.

Defensively things were generally much better but even still---this felt like a game they needed the defense to get sack and force turnovers, something they weren't able to do against backup quarterback Davis Mills.

All this is discussed plus the infuriating 1:03 at the end of the second quarter, guys who are flat out hurting this team at this point, worrying about how the rest of the season will play out and much more.

  • Bills Offense DECIMATED In Houston (Instant Reaction)

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for plenty of instant live reaction just moments after the Buffalo Bills went to Houston and saw Josh Allen take the beating of his career in a Texans 23-19 victory that all but kills the Bills realistic chances of winning a sixth straight AFC east title.

Allen was sacked eight times, pressured countless and times and threw two backbreaking interceptions. While plenty of that was on an offensive line that got utterly dominated by Houston's front four and dominated is an understatement---Allen deserves plenty of blame himself for holding on to the ball too long at times, making a handful of bad decisions and a few lousy throws throughout the game.

Joe Brady deserves a lot of blame too as the Bills far too often vacated the running game with James Cook, with the exception of going to him on an incredibly stupid fourth down call.

The guys discuss the all the other good, bad and ugly of everything from the Buffalo perspective including yet a handful more injuries sure to hurt the team. There's no getting around it---this game sucked.

  • Bills Positional Analysis: Good Versions of Bernard & Benford Back?

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren (SB Nation) for their weekly Buffalo Bills positional analysis and report card grades from last weekend's win over Tampa in addition to taking a look at a Houston Texans the Bills will face on a short week on Thursday night.

Chaos was the name of the game for the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and that was mostly a good thing, especially for a Buffalo that turned back the clock to the Josh Allen days of old and were slinging the ball all over the field. The guys go over each position group on the offense that put up 44 points despite turning the ball over three times and between the mistakes and a rushing game that really didn't take off til near the end of the game, assigning grades could be a little tricky for Matt this time around.

Ditto on the defensive side of the ball as the unit was gashed for over 200 yards in the running game yet again and gave up 32 points. However they did produce two takeaways and got a few key stops along the way. How will Matt's pen treat the defense?

Plus, wow did the special teams return unit ever have their coming out party. That plus a discussion about their coaching, a tough turnaround before hitting the road to face a Texans team potentially down their quarterback in prime time on Thursday night and much more.

  • Bills Big Takeaways: Keon Can (And Should) Have To Wait

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is going over his biggest Buffalo Bills takeaways after watching back the film from their 44-32 victory over Tampa on Sunday, including why the Bills would be best served to leave Keon Coleman on the inactive list beyond just this game.

Coleman was a healthy scratch for the Bills following him reportedly being late to a team meeting on Friday, the third publicly known instance that's led to discipline from Sean McDermott. From what Patrick and surely most of you saw from the receivers and offense in general on Sunday, they may legitimately be better off without him. Snap counts where shared nearly equally by five different receivers and all had a hand in Buffalo's offensive explosion. Patrick explains why Josh Palmer, Khalil Shakir and Tyrell Shavers should be the first three three receivers going forward, with Gabe Davis back in the No. 4 role he had early in his career and Curtis Samuel as the inside/outside No. 5 with versatility. Hell, Keon shouldn't even be the next guy up at this point, a distinction Patrick thinks should fall on Elijah Moore.

Patrick also goes over some of the reasons he felt this was a Joe Brady redemption game and why he's not dwelling on any Josh Allen mistakes when he puts up the kind of numbers he did on Sunday.

It was a mixed bag on defense and Patrick goes over a lot of it, from the good (Terrel Bernard, Christian Benford, Cole Bishop, Jordan Poyer) to the bad (Joey Bosa, Greg Rousseau, Matt Milano) and if some changes could be on the way for the defense.  That plus special teams deserves some love, a quick turnaround in getting ready for Houston and much more.
