  • Bills "Lose" To Pats, Will Face Denver In Playoffs (Live Reactions)

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for tons of live reactions shortly after the conclusion of the Buffalo Bills regular season finale loss at the New England Patriots, 23-16, though of course the bigger story is they'll be facing Denver next week in the Wildcard round.

Sure, Buffalo lost on the scoreboard and fell short of setting an all-time franchise record for regular season wins with 14. However, in "losing" this game they blocked their division rival from having the first overall pick in the 2025 draft. Patrick and Joe have tons of thoughts on New England winning and how they'd feel about it were they Patriots fans.

In terms of the game itself the Bills rested several starters and had but a quick cameo from others, including Josh Allen. The guys talk about what and who they liked and didn't like from the game and why. As usual Joe puts zero stock in a game that doesn't mean anything in the standings while Patrick probably puts too much, leading to plenty of bickering.

Obviously the big news of the day wasn't whether the Bills would beat New England or not, but who they'd be playing in the first round of the playoffs. That answer is Denver. While most people including Patrick are relieved to not see Cincinnati, the Broncos aren't a team that should be slept on. The guys discuss why, get into yet another heated Josh Allen vs Lamar Jackson for MVP discussion and much more.

  • Bills at Patriots Preview & Bold Predictions

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran previews the Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots season finale at Foxboro, complete with Bills keys to victory (is there really any "keys" in this game?) as we as bold predictions and more.

It's a matchup where the Bills have nothing to lose by losing and New England nothing much (if at all) to gain from winning. That's probably the most intriguing storyline going in. The Bills are locked into the number two seed for the AFC playoffs regardless of how this game plays out while New England is guaranteed the top pick of the 2025 NFL draft if they lose to Buffalo.

That said, Patrick still finds things worthy of talking about, mainly what starters will see the field for Buffalo, who should and shouldn't and what kind of lineup we may see on Sunday. Also, Patrick points out that a Bills win would set the all-time franchise record with 14 wins in a season, which may result in them making a more concerted effort to win with their backups.

That plus three bold predictions for the game, plenty of thoughts on the announcement of the AFC Pro Bowl roster that included just two Bills and plenty more.

  • Nine Reasons Why Josh Allen Is Your 2024 MVP

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran lays out nine different reasons why he objectively believes that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen should and ultimately will win the 2024 NFL MVP.

While making it abundantly clear that this episode and specific exercise is in no way, shape or form meant as any slander towards Lamar Jackson, who's had yet another spectacular season especially statistically Patrick digs and convinces himself and hopefully you as well that it's Allen who's most deserving of taking home the hardware.

Reasons dug into in detail include how Allen has been able to do more with less, expectations going into the season, how MVP is different than best player and a lot of context behind some of the statistical comparisons. While it certainly will come off as series of Bills homer point of views, especially to any Ravens fans who may be listening, Patrick attempts to assure he's taking a look through the scope as objectively as he can.

That plus a little bit of potential concern for Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard, a very low key New Year's celebration and plenty more.

  • Is Matt Milano Playoff Ready & Other Bills Musings

Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation for plenty of Buffalo Bills and NFL talk on the final episode of Talking Buffalo for 2024.

The Bills are locked into the second seed in the AFC after smashing the Jets last Sunday and will surely be resting most of their starters in Sunday's finale at Foxboro on Sunday. Of course, the Patriots are currently locked into to the first pick of the 2025 NFL draft so their incentive to win may not be the greatest either. Still, there's plenty of worthy talking points surrounding Buffalo and how this week gets handled and beyond.

Among them discussed is linebacker Matt Milano, who Patrick think played far and away the best of his four games against New York last week. Matt Warren has thoughts on if the version we saw on Sunday is good enough to feel confident in starting over Dorian Williams in the wildcard round when the playoffs begin. Both also have thoughts on how much if at all Milano should play against the Patriots--weighing one final tune up against the chance of getting hurt again.

The guys also hit on Von Miller playing very well last week, Mack Hollins continuing to be a great addition to the team, potential concern about Damar Hamlin's prolonged absence and if they're getting Josh Allen vs Lamar Jackson for MVP debate fatigue.

That plus projecting what Bills will make the Pro Bowl, some of their favorite 2024 NFL storylines around the league and much more. Hope everyone listening has a blessed 2025!

  • Buffalo Bills Biggest Week 17 Takeaways

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is breaking down his biggest Buffalo Bills Week 17 takeaways after watching the film and sifting over PFF grades of their dominant performance over the New York Jets, an effort made easier by an opponent who looked disinterested if not completely checked out.

Not to take away credit for Buffalo, but seeing in real time and especially after film review, the Jets were without a question the path of least resistance for the Bills to lock up the two seed in the AFC. Patrick spends a few minutes going over a few specific plays and moments where it was obvious the Jets had mailed this game in along with their season and why it's such an unserious organization. Also, Aaron Rodgers played like garbage, even when he had time to throw the ball and Patrick documents a few instances of that as well.

As for the Bills, it was a well rounded game in all three aspects of the team. Patrick talks about Josh Allen maintaining the level of excellence he has almost the entire season without needing to get into any specific MVP talk today. Specifically discussed is him eluding several would-be sacks and having trust in his wide receivers Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman to make plays.

The defense was pretty good as well and Patrick talks about being most encouraged by a pair of veterans who'll absolutely need to play well if they want to make a playoff run---Von Miller and Matt MIlano.

That plus the unsung heroes on a few of Buffalo's biggest plays, a couple things about the game he didn't like including one that may be an unpopular opinion and much more.

    Happy New Year!

  • Bills Stomp Disgraceful Jets (Live Reactions)

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens for tons of live reaction shortly following the conclusion of the Buffalo Bills absolutely embarrassing the New York Jets at Highmark Stadium, 40-14 to lock down the two seed going into the playoffs.

The Bills went undefeated at home during the regular season for only the third time in franchise history and first since 1990, the first year the Bills went to the Super Bowl. The guys talk about a winning effort from Buffalo in every phrase of the game, including Josh Allen making what's almost certainly one final case to capture the league's MVP award.

They also discuss several players that had big impacts on the game for Buffalo--ranging from Greg Rousseau to Ed Oliver, Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman. Also Matt Milano had a few big plays in his fourth start of the season, did he do enough to gain confidence in him starting over Dorian Williams going into the playoffs?

As far as the Jets, they looked like a team that quit once the game started to get away from them, in particular Aaron Rodgers, who Patrick goes as far to call disinterested. That and plenty more.

  • Buffalo Bills vs NY Jets Preview & Bold Predictions

On this bonus Saturday episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran previews the Buffalo Bills home finale coming up on Sunday against the lowly New York Jets, including three keys to a Bills victory as well as three bold predictions and a final score guess.

The Jets are a season-long disaster at 4-11 and the epitome of what happens when an organization is a mess from the top on down. Buffalo fans who follow the Sabres are very familiar with the consequence. Patrick talks about why the Jets are so bad, starting with an aging, egomaniac quarterback and an offensive line that in part due to injury is about as bad as it gets. This also isn't the same Jets defense that gave Josh Allen fits in recent years, even when the team overall wasn't great.

On the Bills side Patrick talks about how the injury report is looking and why it's so important for Matt Milano to play in these last two games, regardless of what's at stake for the team overall. Also, is this finally the week Micah Hyde gets a look? It feels like now or never for him.

From there it's the weekly three keys to a Bills victory and Patrick keeps it simple, highlighting that what's most important is not give a lifeless team life by sleepwalking at the start like Buffalo did against New England last week. Then it's bold predictions time, and Patrick is feeling an interception for a reserve defender among other things. He explains why he's got the Bills winning this game by three scores and plenty more.

  • Buffalo Bills Post Christmas Big Talking Points

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation to go over several of the biggest Buffalo Bills talking points after a pair of Christmas games around the AFC most definitely did not go the way the team hoped.

The presents were great, as was the food and of course spending time with loved ones. But from the perspective of the Bills things did not go well in the Kansas City vs Pittsburgh and Baltimore vs Houston matchups. As a result the Bills are officially out of the running for the one seed despite a 12-3 record and also couldn't lock up the second seed either. In terms of how those two games effected the Bills path to a Super Bowl, it was a worst case scenario--which of course doesn't mean Buffalo can't win the AFC when it's all said and done, the guys just talk about how that road will likely be significantly tougher.

As a result of Wednesday's games the Bills will have to knock off the hapless New York Jets at Highmark Stadium on Sunday to officially wrap up the second seed and surely rest their starters in the finale next week at Foxboro. The guys talk a little about the upcoming game and some of the silver linings that come from Buffalo not locking down the two seed before this Jets game, including the chance to get some of the stank from last week's performance against the Patriots off them as well a little season stat padding for those who care about that kind of thing.

Speaking of for those who care, the MVP battle between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson is definitely on full blast and the guys have plenty of thoughts on that, Kansas City yet again being a thorn to everyone's side, the Texans being toast, who may be be the seven seed and tons more.

  • Buffalo Bills Biggest Week 16 Takeaways (Merry Christmas Eve)

On this Christmas eve episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is going over his biggest Buffalo Bills takeaways after watching back the film from their too-close-for-comfort 24-21 victory over the New England Patriots to improve to 12-3 on the season.

Let's be honest---the Patriots are pretty much hopeless for the time being, came into the game at just 3-11 and lack the talent to play with the better teams in the league. The expectation was the Bills would win this game with ease and as things turn out, that was anything but the case. Truth is it's hard to win in the NFL any week and good teams sometimes struggle with and even lose to bad teams. The Bills were able to narrowly escape with a victory and Patrick goes over several reasons why.

On the positive side Patrick talks about James Cook being the best player on the field for Buffalo on Sunday him coming up big yet again. Also, Dorian Williams was fantastic and Greg Rousseau made the big plays that big time edge rushers make.

Fortunately that was enough to carry them to a victory because there was a lot that went wrong. Among that discussed is Kaiir Elam and Baylon Spector's woeful days, part of a defense that is without question overly relying on turnovers to make up for a lot of deficiencies. Things weren't all that much better with the passing game on offense either--just an all around sloppy game.

Patrick also has thoughts on how Sean McDermott should and probably will handle the roster if they're locked into the second seed before taking the field next Sunday against the Jets. That and plenty more!

  • Bills Barely Hang On Over Patriots (Live Instant Reaction)

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe From Queens shortly after the Buffalo for tons of live instant reaction following the Buffalo Bills narrowly hanging on to beat the New England Patriots, 24-21.

It was anything but pretty on a fridge Sunday at Highmark Stadium. The Bills offense didn't play well and the defense wasn't great either. However, they did force three second half turnovers including a defensive touchdown and it proved to be the difference in the game.

The guys talk about a Bills team that looked overconfident, unprepared and possibly uncomfortable in the elements. That said, a win is a win and the Bills are now 12-3 and still in the hunt for the top seed in the AFC.

Was this game an exception on what's been a brilliant Buffalo run? That's discussed and much more.
