In this third installment exploring my experience with burnout, I explore the connection between repetitive stress injuries, training as an improviser, and Bill Murray’s Ground Hog Day.
This week, I continue the journey out of burnout with a phrase I used to interrupt my habit of jumping in.
This week, I revisit a key question that helped (and continues to help) me rethink my expectations, goals, and output in light of my own personality and formation.

Do you have a question you like asking? I’m curious. If you’re willing to share a question that has helped guide your journey, post it in the comments below.
How do we think of the people we share our lives with? How does our conception of our family, friends, work colleagues, and acquaintances affect us and how we show up? How would these questions shape our lives when applied to God?
Here are quick links to last weeks note and talking note, mentioned in this episode.
A Word of Thanks
This is my last note for 2021. I’m taking the next two weeks to rest from writing and recording these notes. Before I go, I want to thank each and every one of you for taking an interest in this work and your financial support. It is a humbling experience to see these notes gain some traction in a world full of better writers. Wishing you and your loved ones many blessings in this time and in the year to come.
What does it mean to choose to be in relationship? How do we think about it when it comes to all the relationships we are involved in? How does this affect how we think about God?

I’m trying something new here as some recent notes have been gaining some attention. I don’t want time or medium to be a hinderance to sharing the idea. So, here is the note in audio format. This is the pilot episode, and audio recordings take some time to get right, so let me know if you like the idea, format, and delivery. I’ll work to make it better :-)
