Talking Preds: Nashville Predators

The entire crew of Talking Preds is back for this episode! Feels good to have the whole gang talking about our favorite team, your Nashville Predators.

Pekka Rinne was on IR for about two weeks, but came back and had arguably one of the best weeks of his life. Had 42 saves against Tampa Bay only giving up one goal, then, on his birthday, signed a 2 year, $10 million extension, and put up a shut-out against Boston's high-powered offense.

Ryan Johansen may be an alien with his video game like passes. He has really stepped it up this year and looks like the amazing player we all know him to be. Even with Arvidsson out, the JOFA line has produced.

Chicago fires Quenneville as the head coach. It's more of an ousting on Bowman's part to save face, we think. Is any Pred's fan upset about this? I think not! Basically the Predators broke the Chicago Blackhawks, as they've dissolved into a dumpster fire since the Preds swept them in the first round of the 2017 playoffs.

On the latest edition of Talking Preds, "Big Natural" Stoney Keeley and Herbie Brooks break down the week that was in Nashville Predators hockey. What does losing Pekka Rinne to IR mean for the team? How impressive was the Preds' ability to completely lock down Oilers superstar Connor McDavid? How can the Preds prepare for the revamped defensive corps of San Jose? All this and more on the latest episode of Talking Preds!

Your Nashville Predators are off to a 2-0 start, and you can't have a perfect season without winning the first two! Why not try to win them all? Of course, this is the NHL, where that feat would be difficult, however, it's fun to fantasize about.

What can we look for in the Preds this year? Well, the core of the team is still here. The 4 defensemen, Subban, Ekholm, Ellis, and Josi are locked in. The top line looks better than ever. And the up and comers are up and coming rapidly. There's a lot to look forward to in this season. Maybe even more than the previous two seasons. We should look for another deep run in the post season.

Filip Forsberg never disappoints. It was only fitting for him to score the opening goal of the season. He's only 24 years old, and the skill and talent is starting to leak superstar status. His 40 goals a year is coming soon.

How many games will Pekka Rinne play this year? The confidence in Saros is unbelievable, and he backs it up every time he's between the posts. Over or under 50 games, for Pekka? Let us know what you think!

We look forward to seeing everyone at Bridgestone tonight for the home opener! Come get you banner and say hi to the Talking Preds peeps.

This is what we've all been waiting for!  Hockey is back tonight in Nashville.  There's just nothing like it, and we are ecstatic to be back talking about it.  This is Talking Preds after all.

The summer seemed long, but give this a listen and you'll be right back in the action.  Herbie Brooks and Charlie McCoy dive into what's happened in preseason so far.  The Predators looked good against Florida.  The top line with Kevin Fiala joining Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen looked absolutely unstoppable.  This was fun to watch.  We also has some other contributors that was nice to see.

Austin Watson was arrested over the summer.  Hear our take on the situation and what the Preds have to say about it.  Their statement is pretty powerful for the whole family.

Ryan Ellis is with us for 7 more years!  This is an excellent move by Poile and Ellis to sign a 6 year, 36 million dollar contract.  Ellis left a lot of money on the table for the Preds.  A humble man.

There's nothing like being pierced through the heart by your favorite team. To feel like your soul was crushed and you did everything right, but they broke up with you, still. It's hard to describe this kind of defeat. Sometimes you just want to curl up in a ball and stay in bed all day. You keep trying to convince yourself that it just wasn't meant to be, but deep down you still feel like it was supposed to happened.  That this was the year you were going to go allllllll the way. That's what happened when the Nashville Predators lost game 7 of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Winnipeg Jets... On home ICE!

It's no secret that all of Smashville is defeated and there really isn't anywhere to place the blame. The entire team didn't show up to win 4 games in a 7 game series. We go over some different stats and have some different hot takes, but at the end of the day, the entire team lacked the will to win it.

We aren't going anywhere, by the way! Talking Preds will be here to cover the off season and gear you up to look forward to the next season, so stay tuned! Make sure to follow us for updates!

Well, Smashville, it's here. The Predators face off against the Winnipeg Jets tonight in a game 7 throw-down. Of course, winner moves on, and the loser goes golfing. But, we all knew this. It's a game 7 and almost every one predicted this series to go 7.

Your Nashville Predators finished atop the NHL with 117 points, but right behind them was the Winnipeg Jets in 2nd place with 114 points. Nashville only won one more game than the Jets in the regular season.

This series has literally had it's ups and downs, for both fans, but it couldn't be a more even series. We break down some stats of when these teams are even strength, and I think you'll fall out of you chair listening to them. Hopefully you're not driving and listening :)

We make some bold predictions (Even some ridiculous ones...I won't mention any names... Herbie) and prepare you for Game 7 tonight.  Tune in and follow our contributors on Twitter!

It's okay (for now), Preds fans. Take a deep breath and come on in for a little group therapy. "Big Natural" Stoney Keeley and Herbie Brooks fix the Nashville Predators in a 30-minute vent session before Game 4.

What went so wrong in Game 3? Can't put all of the blame on the refs, but how bad has NHL officiating been? What do the Preds have to do to turn this series around?

Plus, we discuss the outrage aimed at Taylor Lewan and the Titans offensive line for chugging beer on live television (hint: Nashville is much more "Taylor Lewan chugging beer out of a catfish" than it is "cowboy hats and Luke Bryan skinny jeans").

Or, alternatively titled "Episode 11: They hate us, 'cause they ain't us."

The gang's all here, and the gang's all ticked off. Join Charlie McCoy, Herbie Brooks, and "Big Natural" Stoney Keeley as the break down the first three games of the Preds-Avs series. Despite not playing their best hockey, they're still up 2-1 in the series.

Plus, what's up with the Colorado media and Avs fans taking issue with the chants at Preds game, then turning around and chanting "you suck" at P.K. Subban?

All this and some Juuse Saros talk with a quick look around the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

It's that time of year that we have all been waiting for! Your Nashville Predators are the #1 seed and kicking off the playoffs tonight against the Colorado Avalanche! There's really nothing like playoff hockey, and this is the most incredible Predators team we have seen in this franchise's 20 year history.

The guys discuss their playoff hype as well as how they got into the sport of hockey. From Herbie playing NHL Hits on the N64, Stoney just liking the Avalanche logo, to Charlie watching hockey in Louisiana, they all found their way to loving the Preds and what they mean to the city of Nashville.

Did you fill out a bracket? Compare it to ours! We discuss our picks for every single match-up, including our predicted match-ups. This will continue these scenarios as the playoffs progress.
