Talking SMAC

In this week's episode we discuss sports being back in all 3 counties of the SMAC. We speak with coach Rick Sneade head football coach from Calvert, coach John Childers head baseball coach from La Plata, senior swimmer Tink Tompkins from McDonough, and senior wrestler Kielin Huff from North Point. We also discuss a new bill introduced in the Maryland State Legislature that would allow seniors from the class of 2021 come back and play sports next year. 

Sports are BACK!!! In this week's episode we try to bring you all the information you need to know about sports being back in Calvert and St. Marys counties. We speak with Ryan Hanley, athletic director at Great Mills High School, Keith Powell, athletic director at Patuxent High School, and head football coach Justin Cunningham from Leonardtown High School. As well as a current athlete from Huntingtown Alyssa Nuthall, and a current college athlete from Northern Charlie Sweeney talking about their respective seasons. 

In this week's episode we finish our conversation about basketball in SMAC over the last 20 years with the creation of our own All-SMAC 21st Century Teams. I go a bit overboard with my teams (so you dont want to miss that). We also have some great interviews with coaches and former players including Coach Ox from Northern, Steph Battle from Stone, Tre Mouton from North Point, Coach Rooney from McDonough, and Trey McCray is back again for his take.  

In this week's episode we continue our conversation about the best Boys Basketball Teams in SMAC over the past 20 years with some amazing interviews with some all time great basketball coaches. We talk to Coach Ball from North Point, Coach Lamberth from Stone, Coach Campbell from St. Charles, Coach Gross from Huntingtown, Coach Mouton from Westlake, and Coach Burrell from Great Mills. The Basketball Episode! In this week's episode we dive into the debate over who is the best SMAC Boys Basketball Team over the past 20 years. We breakdown all the great teams and have our own lists. We speak with some experts including Mark Gladfelter and AJ Mason and the voice of the MPSSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament Jon Leavitt. This is just part 1 of a 3 part series on Boys Basketball over the past 20 years in SMAC. Get ready for some great discussions.

This week's episode is dedicated to paying tribute to the legend Dominic Zaccarelli. We have great thoughts and words from some people that knew him best: Cliff Nagle, Denny Tummino, Beth Shook, Marlon Curtis, Jimmy Ball, Kevin Heider, and Steve Willett. Our sincere condolences go out to the entire Zaccarelli family.
