Eli Roth just spent 20 years plotting the death of the ice cream truck.
This week on Talking Strange, horror icon Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel, Thanksgiving) joins host Aaron Sagers to talk about his tenth feature, Ice Cream Man, opening August 7, 2026. This is his most ambitious, most blood-soaked project yet, and the first release from his new studio, The Horror Section. The film stars Ari Millen as a silent, smiling villain who turns an idyllic small town's children into instruments of mass patricide, with executive production from Nas and original music from Snoop Dogg. (And no, this isn't the 1995 Clint Howard cult movie of the same name.) This is Eli Roth's Pied Piper fairy tale, and it is a completely different animal.
We get into the hilarious and squirm-inducing gore, the surprisingly wholesome chaos of directing 80 kids covered in fake blood, and why Roth thinks the scariest villains are the ones who believe they're the hero. Roth also shares his own tales of scary urban legends and ice cream trucks.
