  • Breakups Don't Fade to Black - TWB11

Breakups are hard and in this episode, JAC tell stories of loves lost, embarrassing moments, and how to deal with having your heart ripped from your chest like in that scene from Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom or Roadhouse; however, in Roadhouse it was the guy's throat that was ripped out but it hurts all the same.

  • Spoils of Ultron - TWB7

Should A.I. be the next major technological advancement scientists and engineers (humankind) pursue?

We've accomplished many things since we put a man on the moon, however, we don't have a reliable/assessable flying car nor is time travel in the conversation. Drones are one of the best/worse deterrents in fighting wars but now Amazon wants them for a speedy delivery of your online purchases. The smaller home version makes neat-o Christmas gifts and the next best thing for peeping toms in training and those bottom dwellers upskirt aficionados. Should we actively pursue a life beyond attempts at cloning ourselves or have we already created the thing that would eventually create a life for all mankind to... fear.

  • Video Killed the Radio Star and Created The Filmmaker - TWB6

Do you watch music videos? Okay, wait… Do watch music videos as you did back in the days of TRL and Video Soul? If you did you're likely of middle age and would rather spend your time watching Netflix or Hulu or better yet, sleeping. Watching music videos has evolved into something that isn't the experience I remember it to be back in the 80's and early 90's. Back when we would have to wait for the end of the week for Friday Night Videos or pay for video shows, like, Video Jukebox Network (or The Box).

Much like clothing worn these days an MV release is less about the intrigue and anticipation and more about the shock value. Maybe if it's the age disparity or maybe I'm just so reluctant to open my eyes (and browser) to see that there are great things happening on the web with Youtube and the music video. I won't rule it out but when was the last time music video debuted on YouTube and hyped up an album so much you have to rush out to your local Target and purchase a CD you won't even use? I don't really depend on the music video to entice me to buy an album. Most records I purchase are from artists or bands whose music I know or from indie artists I would like to tout about. Otherwise, it's back to the oldies when music was pure and about… the music.

  • Fast Cars Are A Hazzard for Furious Dukes - TWB5

There's driving fast and driving with the sense that you cant do everything you see on television and in the movies. Most of those stunts are very dangerous and must not be performed by the average idiot with a nitric oxide tank installed in his '96 Honda CRX. Those disclaimers that state "Do Not Try This At Home" are not to be ignored. Heed the warnings. You are not Steve Mcqueen! Even he needed a stunt double to perform some of the wildest car chases ever to grace the silver screen. Google movies with awesome car chase scenes and BAM! you'll see Bullit among them.

Back in those days, directors didn't have fancy computers and digital trickery; they had cars. Cars, a camera, and people who could drive those cars at extreme speeds. Both men and women skilled at the wheel with backbones they were more than willing to break for the perfect shot. Nowadays to flip a car means to film the actor reactions in front of a green screen then send the footage to an artist to make the car look real. Fast and Furious (although a great franchise) utilizes the CG car chases to an extreme degree. Most of the car chase scenes today are produced with computer graphics, and they are awesome to watch but not too impressive when you learn of their visual trickery on the DVD commentary.

However, if you truly enjoy a great car chase scene and have yet to watch movies such as White Lightning, Smokey, and the Bandit, and even television programs such as The Dukes of Hazzard then we recommend you sit down, buckle up, join us for a discussion about going fast but staying real.

  • Voice Actors Are The Cyrano De Bergerac's of Hollywood - TWB04
Y' know that voice in your head you recognize from somewhere that isn't your subconscious demanding you run over that bunch of baby ducks slowly crossing the road when you're already late for work?

Voice actors are invisible and materialize here and there as the various characters to whom they give life. They are the Cyrano De Bergerac's within the sea of Hollywood fish who every now and then gulp up the sprinkles of recognition from their holy than thou counterparts. For this discussion, we referenced the documentary "I Know That Voice" -- now on Netflix-- to help us with the ingredients to fulfill this order.

First Impressions JAC discusses their initial reactions to the documentary I Know That Voice.

Legendary actor and Mel Blanc, the best of the best, and that great looney tunes episode Rabbit Season, Duck Season. He played both Bugs and Daffy attempted to outwit himself in an epic debate to convince Elmer which animal is in season.

Actor vs Actors A-list Hollywood actors get paid millions to voice characters in blockbuster-animated movies and quite often only play themselves and not the character. We talk about the good, the paid, and the overpaid. 1. Shrek

Eddie Murphy as Donkey as Eddie Murphy. Mikey Myers as Shrek is a good fit. Justin Timberlake as The Prince convincing us all he is just that good. Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona is always enjoyable to watch. I guess it is easy being green.

    2. Madagascar

Chris Rock as Marty as Chris Rock. C'mon, what'd you expect? Schwimmer as Melman Mankiewicz as Ross. Jada as Gloria is 300 lbs heavier and less serious than normally depicted. Ben Stiller as Marty as Ben Stiller as every other character he ever played - oh, yeah, himself.

Gaming Nowadays when storylines are almost as imperative to gameplay, voice actors are in high demand to portray characters with intense emotion and awesome dialog. To do the job right means to sometime sacrifice the very thing that is your bread and butter: your voice.

Anime Dubbing is tricky. To best to sync dialog to the mouth of a character is to animate a character to the dialog. With anime, this process is done after the fact and can yield good or bad results. It'll never be perfect but effective enough to not distract the viewer too much.

The Syfy network embraced the ridiculousness of Sharknado and so did fans.

Despite horrible ratings and critical dismay, Syfy continues to employ Ian Ziering and Tara Reid's hand stump double along with a cast of cameos to further the epic disaster spoof franchise. But will it continue to pay off?

When Jerry came to The Rupel with the brilliant idea of comparing the tech of today to the technology portrayed in Back to the Future II, he says, "Why don't we just watch all three?" Eureka! But wait... BTTF and BTTF3 have nothing to do with the theme of this episode.

Who the cares, it's Back to the Future!
