Talk'n Throws with David Winkler- 2020 Inductee Mesquite ISD Hall of Honor, 1997 USA Nationals Bronze Medalists in Weightlifting,1990 HS All-American and member of Junior World Team. Shot put PR in HS 65'2, 3 Time Texas HS State Champion in Shot Put at North Mesquite HS.
David's father passed down his love of throwing to David by putting a shot put in his hand at an early age. That love and passion for throwing led them to seek out Olympian Sammy Walker who coached and mentored David throughout his career.. along with bribing him with BBQ. Sammy introduced David to weightlifting during Junior High and David goes on to have successful weightlifting career after graduating from SMU.

Talk'n Throws with Tim Swords-USAW International Level Coach, Coached Sarah Robles in 2016 Olympic Games, Currently runs a non-profit weightlifting club in Houston called Team Houston Weightlifting.

Tim was a multi-sport athlete that loved to hit people on the football field, but Tim's favorite sport is Track and Field. His passion for coaching and kids has led him to start a non-profit weightlifting program for At-Risk kids out of his garage.  Tim talks about the importance of Olympic lifting for throwers and all athletes. He has coached numerous professional weightlifters including the Bronze Medal winner of the 2016 Olympics in Olympic Lifting in Sarah Robles who was also collegiate thrower at Arizona State.

Eileen Vanisi is truly a Texas Legend.  A young lady that spent her extra time working and taking care of her family all while perfecting her craft of throwing.  Her story of not having a clue about anything related to athletics, much less track and field, to becoming an All-American, Hall of Fame Honore and  competing in the 1996 Olympic Trials... is a story of hard work and perseverance.  Eileen has a tough road ahead of her with her health issues, yet she is ready to just take care of business and do what needs to be done.

Talk'n Throws with Matt Spears current throws coach at Canyon High in Canyon, Texas. Former All American thrower at Wyoming, Canyon High School Shot Put State Champion and Alumni 
Matt Spears story is one of a young man having throwing success  in high school, going off to college and having more throwing success to paying it forward to the current Canyon High School student athletes and specifically throwers. Matt has turned Canyon High School into one of the top throwing programs in the big state of Texas.

Haley Teel was a 2018 All American at Alabama, 2014 Texas High School Athlete of the Year, Qualified for the Texas State Track Meet all 4 years of High school, 2013 Shot Put State Champion, 2014 Shot Put and Discus State Champion.  Haley is currently training with Throw1Deep in Georgia.

Talk'n Throws with Chris and Chandra Cralle
Chris was a Texas High School State Champion discus throw, All American Hammer thrower at Sam Houston State and Runner-up in the 2012 Olympic Trials in Hammer.
Chandra made it to the Kansas State meet in all three throwing events (discus, shot put and javelin) her junior and senior year of high school. She was outstanding thrower at Wichita State, where she threw all 5 implements. 
Their love for throwing the hammer allowed them to cross paths several times before they finally met and got married in a hammer circle.

Maggie Malone 2016 Olympian in the Javelin at the Rio Games, 2016 US Olympic Trials 1st Place, 2016 NCAA Div. 1 National Champion Javelin, American Collegiate Record Holder in the Javelin. Maggie talks about her growing up in Nebraska, attending the University of Nebraska, following in her parents footsteps, to begin and develop her javelin career. She took a leap of faith in following God's path that took her to Texas A&M and to one of the greatest javelin coaches.  That led her to the 2016 Olympics.  She currently is training for the 2021 Olympics and has started the USA Javelin Project.
