What is stewardship within the local church? In today's episode, we talk about giving of our resources and belonging to the body. Join Matt, Candace, and Joe as we continue our discussion over the covenant.

In this episode, we consider what it means to humbly submit ourselves to the care, correction, and teaching of the elders of the church. This is not a passive posture, but an active expression of trust in God's design for His church. Our covenant reminds us that we walk in obedience not only by submitting to faithful shepherds (Heb. 13:17; 1 Pet. 5:5), but also by "diligently striving for unity and peace within the church" (Eph. 4:1–3). In a world often marked by division and resistance to authority, the church is called to a better way—a way shaped by humility, gentleness, and submission to the Lord.

In this episode, we reflect on our covenant commitment to confess our sins to one another. As members of Christ's body, we are not isolated individuals but a redeemed people, called to confess our sins to God and to one another. Our covenant reminds us of this vital rhythm of church life: "by confessing my sin to God and to fellow believers; by repenting and seeking help to put my sin to death" (Rom. 8:13; Col. 3:5; James 5:16; 1 John 1:6–10). Confession is not merely a personal act—it's a communal grace. May this conversation lead us deeper into the light, where grace abounds and transformation begins.

In this episode, we come to a weighty and necessary part of our church covenant: our shared commitment to pursue and uphold biblical church discipline. This is often misunderstood or neglected in modern church life, but as members of a covenant community, we do not walk alone—we walk together in grace and truth, holding one another accountable in love. Church discipline is not rooted in punishment, but in restoration; not harsh, but holy. We pray this conversation deepens our understanding and strengthens our resolve to love one another enough to speak the truth, even when it's hard, all for the glory of Christ and the good of His church.

Today we continue our walk through the church covenant by focusing on our commitment to be faithfully connected to and serving within the local church. In a world that often prizes individualism and loose affiliation, in our covenant we commit to something so much more—biblical membership marked by intentional presence, sacrificial service, and mutual care. We believe the local church is not incidental to the Christian life, but essential. Christ has purchased a people, not just persons, and He has placed us in covenant community for our good and His glory. In this episode, we reflect on what it means to live out that calling in practical, everyday faithfulness.

In this episode, we begin by reflecting on our church covenant—a covenant we joyfully affirm together as members of Christ's body. At the very outset, the covenant draws our attention to the ordinances, those sacred and visible signs given by Christ to His church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. These are not empty rituals, but God-ordained means by which the gospel is proclaimed, the church is identified, and believers are nourished in faith. Since we revisit our covenant at every members meeting, and having just recently gathered as together as a church family, now is a fitting time to begin the conversation over this topic. We pray this multi-episode conversation will help us all walk more faithfully in the covenant we have made together as a church.
