The Animorphs survive a fruity, Freudian hellscape  and infiltrate a mental institution. Meanwhile Miranda, Eddy, and Chris try to figure out what, if anything, in Rachel's past led to her self-destructive tendency to throw herself into harm’s way.

Miranda wonders if sweet and sticky banana goo is ever just sweet and sticky banana goo. Eddy enters his Zordon era. Chris stumbles upon three kids, each smaller than a slightly larger child.
