When it comes to your health, do you create boundaries? Or do you do as you please in hopes of living a long and prosperous life?
We need boundaries when it comes to our health or else we're just living our health to please others.
In my late 20s I didn't know I was living a pattern of people pleasing with my health until I became ill and had to give up meat (specifically beef & pork). It was during this time that I took the initiative to start observing my life and why I was doing/eating/consuming in the same way as the people I surrounded myself with. Surely enough, it dawned on me that I was never taught how to NOT people please with food, let alone my health. I have never been taught how to set boundaries with my health, just like my community. Granted, I don't live in an obese community and my family is quite healthy. Nonetheless, we have difficulty saying 'no' to food.
What have I learned by setting boundaries for myself and for my health?

My interview with Ed Tick could have lasted for hours. But, for your sake we kept it under an hour. Interviewing Ed didn't feel like an interview, but rather it felt like I was learning from an ancient universal wisdom keeper. His experience and understandings of ancient Greek history and Viet Nam are just the tip of the iceberg. We discuss PTSD in the military, death, the art of initiation, and ancient healing practices.
This is a two-part interview. If you are interested in the works of Ed Tick, his information and books are listed below.
Enjoy!

As a child, I wish somebody taught how to decondition what I thought athletics is supposed to be like. Here are the three beliefs I had to decondition to live a healthier and happier life as former athlete.
1) The culture of "quick results"
2) Laziness
3) You are what you eat (you also eat what you are)
How did I come to terms with these conditions? Press play and have a listen.
What does your pain, pleasure, and creativity have in common?
As a child I experienced first hand the painful cramps of PMS. Not knowing what would happen many years later, I wish I would have loved my monthly flow that much more. I wish I would have been taught to love my PMS the same way I love chocolate- to be present and patient and indulge in the emotions I was feeling. Years later I learned how suppressing my emotions related to the painful experiences of PMS would also compromise my pleasure and creativity in adulthood and in life.
What do I do now??

'Freedom' as a child meant something we all could enjoy. Now, as an adult 'Freedom' means something completely different. And, are we truly 'Free' at all?!?!
