We’re “back” from our top secret mission entailing raw footage of the legendary, Blackbyrds, in London. Summer is winding to an end but the hustle and fun does not stop for TB&P and friends. Lessons are being learned, knowledge is being gained, power is being cornered, imagination is set for the ultimate foliage. The beginning is now.
DJ Amen Ra brings two sets of uninterrupted house, while Aperture and HotSauce, joined by in-house guest Giggle Foot AKA Des the Destroyer AKA Diabolical Des AKA GodDES, feed your brains with some comical, knowledge. Hot takes on everything from happenings in the TB&P community, sexism in the hip hop industry, and of course, the alt-right — actually, let’s keep it 100 and call it what it is — nazis. We have a multi-cultural discussion on how it’s 2017, our President is a nazi sympathizer, and all we do is tweet about it.
Whether you’re working out, in your ride, or crunching those numbers in your cubical, enjoy this audible escape cause we’re taking it to a whole new level.
Tracklist
1. Friend Within & Kideko – Burnin’ Up
How’s this for a surprise? TB&P is invading the UK! The chaps, along with semi-permanent guest, @DeEnfinite (Charles DeRaun), go into detail on their upcoming business-adventure to London, taking part in the production and direction of a future documentary for legendary funk act, The Blackbyrds.
Fronted by an episode of UK-inspired, house beats from @DJAmenRA, the lads discuss their previous arse-over-tit, nutter ventures to Europe and how this will be their first dog’s dinner trip. The never-ending sub genres of garage music are discussed, as well as, pop culture in the UK vs the US. Is it acceptable to do a few “touristy” things when on vacation?
1. Craig David – ReReWind (HavocNdeeDRemiX)
Coming at you live (from a few days ago) from Washington D.C. is the improved sound of The Beat & Path podcast with the global-educated sounds of DJ Amen Ra.
HotSauce and host, Brandon Russell, delve into the latest TB&P happenings around The District, as well as at your fingertips on the Internets. Could the simple sound of a DMX bark replace a symbol of hate? Nostalgia leads to a discussion on the global impact of the 1993 film The Sandlot and scrambled porn.
1. Miles Davis – So What
Are you tired of Prince-tributes yet? Shut your damn facehole! No you’re not! Besides, you haven’t heard one like this before. This is beautiful! We’re back from LA and recording in DC for the first time since December. Amen Ra pays homage to The Artist, Rogers Nelson, whom he dubs as, “the creator of the visual mixtape”. Our award-winning soundtrack to the web series, Walk of Shame, is featured heavily throughout. We’re bringing a funktastic, sensual blend of music from all generations for this episode of funk-n-roll. Take a seat on the couch as we talk about the ongoing, controversial, world-wide issue of #TallPeopleProblems – yes, the hashtag was very necessary.
We’re coming at you LIVE from Los Angeles, Southern California; fresh off our, now SECOND, BEST SOUNDTRACK award for Walk of Shame. This episode we’re joined by WoS Soundtrack contributor, Ellis Tenza, otherwise known as DJ Dynamix (2011 & 2012 Los Angeles Red Bull Threestyle Champion, VH1’s – Master of the Mix).
Recording from the legendary, DJ Quest9’s, crib in Anaheim – Dynamix gets the tectonic plates shifting back and forth like only SoCal can – kicking things off with an exclusive 20-minute set and interview.
Amen Ra & Dynamix let you into the psyche of the DJ, on how to shed labels and transition that into spinning records. Amen Ra gets Zen. Brandon shouts out tacos and gets rejected by bouncers. Plus, playing it like a noob in front of Karrueche Tran and Obama interrupting our plans in Beverly Hills.

DJ Amen Ra takes us to a backyard-BBQ, underneath picturesque sunny clouds, with an unofficial-officially-themed podcast; featuring some of hip-hop’s fallen greats on top of some legendary, nostalgic tracks. The cliché, “they just don’t make them like they used to” is the subliminal, musical thesis for your next hour of audio enjoyment.
We remember Phife by taking a trip down memory lane to the time we each popped our Tribe-cherry. TB&P babies are dropping (pun? If so, gross!)! A brief, intellectual breakdown of the direction toilet water spins based on your location on earth; which leads into another short, segment, of brain-food, on the verb-usage in our history textbooks.
Casey Kills Jobs joins us to discuss our upcoming trip to Los Angeles for the 2016 Indie Series Awards. Walk of Shame is nominated for three awards – Best Supporting Actor (James “Prince” Coley), Best Supporting Actress (Stephanie Ray Glass), and Best Soundtrack.

Morgan Freeman introduces episode 15 which may or may not have an element of jungle and drum-n-bass sprinkled in throughout. Shout-outs galore! T-shirt ideas. HotSauce gets existential for a moment by blending telepathic computer devices with the MPAA. The conversation then sways to the greatest reality TV show of 2016 — the GOP debates. Amen Ra and HotSauce gives the audience a history lesson. Brandon and Amen Ra discuss crosswalk etiquette in the United States.
