AN INSPIRED HEALING JOURNEY with two women intuitive painting side by side - We begin tomorrow!
A Message from MUSEA'S Co-Founder, Curate Shiloh Sophia
Hello Dear Ones! I am so glad you are here! In our class, INSPIRED we will be guiding you through a step by step healing journey that includes conversation, education, stories, inquiries, meditation, drawing, AND intuitive painting. You can choose to heal your trauma! That said you don't need to be an artist in any way - the painting we are doing is for processing and for the integration of the material. It isn't about making a cool painting, although you might. It is about bringing you deeper into the story you are working to heal through working with image and language, right and left brain, with a big beautiful heart right in the center. For each of the step with the INSPIRED Curriculum, you will be doing a painting step that pairs with the content offered by Lissa and Jeff from the lifetime of experience with healing and the Guidelines of the CDC. You will also be able to hear from my husband, Jonathan McCloud as he shares with you the way we work with creativity to create a pattern interupt to our default thinking. So you will be experiencing, layer by layer by layer, healing occurs and is realized in ways that it hasn't been able to before, and it is evidenced within the conent of the painting itself.
You can enagage while you are creating with flow state, nervous system regulation, healing your stress response and increased insight - and of course, INSPIRATION! This is BECAUSE we are including the somatics of the body AND the intentions of the brain - as well as your eyes, which witness the visible changes in real time as you move through the storyline connected with how you experience your trauma. Obviously we use the term, "trauma-inspired" as a play on trauma-informed. We don't want to be just trauma-informed, we want to be inspired to act, and do something about it.One of the greatest challenges with healing is not being able to bring the mental concepts of healing to the somatic realites that the body experiences. We need a process that brings them together. We often do one and then the other. We go to the therapist and talk and we go to the bodyworker, and work the body and the energy worker to shift the energy - and yet how are they woven together?
You are the one responsible for weaving them together but maybe no one ever mentioned to you that you get to do that. The trauma that we experienc is stored in the mind and the body - so don't we need to access both if we are going to heal both? We think so. As well as a shift in the storyline we are carrying? This requires some deep diving into the way that we are thinking and the way that we are carrying the trauma in our body. Once again, brain and body. Our approach is designed to access mind and body at the same time, with the power of the heart at the center beaming like a sun!Through self-expression we engage at a WHOLE new and deeper level of what is possible because we are embodying the change, therefore our brain believes we have made the change. Our body records the change through our senses and movement is made in ways that talking and processing alone do not offer. With Intentional Creativity Intuitive Painting, you create a visual artifact of the work you have just done. The entire journey puts you on a path of believing yourself, and believing healing is possible. Believing healing is possible is one of the that is both on Jeff and Lissa's list for healing. In Inspired Lissa and I paint side by side in the videos and you get to paint along with us, tune into our conversation and be inspired in your own healing journey. All the the backdrop of music by the amazing Karen Drucker.
Feeling inspired guides us along on our path, encourages us to keep going. And we sometimes need inspiration to keep going. As you well know, healing can be a long and hard journey - and sometimes very mysterious. All for of us have been on a journey to discovery a pathway to healing that we can repeat again and again. We hope to provide you with tools for inspiration for what you are working to heal now and in the future. Really, you will be able to use these tools again and again. We know that some of you might be afraid of the creative process, you think you don't have skill or you know you won't be able to control what happens. Here's a hint, not being able to control what happens in the painting is part of what brings you to such a richly textured edge within yourself - from here, we dive in. Creativity poses no real threat, but we are often afraid of what might happen! A lot of this stems from childhood trauma related to our creativity, vulnerability, there are people who put the crayon down when one person said one negative thing and never picked it up again. Let's pick up the crayon! Let's be brave, dive in and work with the elements to support us. We will be painting inspired by earth, air, fire, water, sunshine, stardust and moonlight. Let's gather together!Curate Shiloh Sophia

Sending Blessing Beauties,
I love calling you beauties. Because you are beautiful to me. I have been working on this post for a few hours - and I do it for you, for us, for the Muse, for the Ma!
I am inviting you to join us for The Cura Council Ceremony on February 1 that will have a Celtic Poetic flavor with stories of Brigid. We gather virutally at 10am, featuring Lavender Grace with drum and Kathleen Brigidinia, with story. For those of you in Northern California we have circle at the Ranch at 6pm. February 1 is thought of as the first day of Spring in some places, including Ireland, and it is half way between Solstice and Equinox so a cross-quarter day, or what we might call a Peak Season. You can sign up at The Cura Council to get all announcements. This is my other substack that centers ceremony, futurism, activism, community and the wheel of the year.Today’s episode started with waking me up this morning. I am here three hours later finally ready to share it with you. Yep it can take 3-5 hours to get you a post if I really do it the way I love to. There are so many steps, so much technology, so much time, and yet it is a part of my devotional practice. For the post, I found this old painting of mine from over 15 years through googling Shiloh Sophia, Mother Art. I don’t know what it is called…yet I love the feeling.

Churning Butter of Remothering
Today the paper white narcissus
called to us and we answered
We bowed our heads at their glorious entry
into a landscape of black branched trees
against a soft velvet sky
They are sending us a herald to Spring
A garland for St. Brigid's head,
offering the hope we need at the start of February
The start of February in the old country
was the beginning of Spring,
and we needed to see it,
even if most of the buds stayed wrapped tight
in their little fisted nest
We, we walked with the full moon overhead in a blue sky.
We were amazed at the verdant green of the meadow,
the softness of the meadow's hair
looked like a mermaid's mantle after a sea storm
We heard frogs calling to one another,
a call and a response that delighted us
Childlike, we listened for their song
Brigid, will you churn the sweetness
of the butter for us and pour us a good measure of ale?

Have you noticed the transcript button? You can watch it move on the text as you listen, it’s a really cool newish feature. I am still working with it because it is hard to edit so there are some discrepancies.
Tea with the Muse is here for your delight and encouragment. An invitation to beauty in hard times. Poetry, paintings, possibilities and passionate musings. Sharing of your resources is always received with the utmost of gratitude.
Hello to you! I am coming by today to share my WHY for a trauma-inspired approach.
Join us for INSPIRED - you will be inspired looking at what we have dreamed up!

The Tenth Muse and
the Midnight of New Beginnings
The Muse is at the back door of your heart
She opens it without a sound
and enters in with bare feet covered in red dirt
She holds all the colors in her nimble fingers
She strokes you gently
You feel the colors blending
She causes your wild animals to stir
Your body is filled with
the passion of sunset orange
the melancholy of blue sky turning pink
the longing green of soft moss after too much rain
She opens you to magenta with a kiss on your open lips
You can feel it all the way inside the wilderness of you
A pulse, a power, a paint color you can’t even see
A pulse, a power, a paint colorIn the depth of your forest your animals awaken
Your black bear blinks
and nurses her cub with white milk in a pink cave
Your tiger roars from deep within the stone enclosure
and moves out solo onto ochre soil to huntYour swan chooses a mate forever, opalescent feathers flowingBut it’s the snake that surprises you, she always does
She is licking the air
testing to see if you are paying enough attention
The Muse always brings her own weather
Are you paying enough attention?
You have a crush on the Muse and for good reason
Even your wild animals are no match for her colorsAs you accept from her open hand,
the color bone black, you shiver
It’s the black you know you need to use now
to paint your bear!
You are afraid, and rightly so
She wants you to go deeper,
to go darker into that cave
She wants you to drink her milk
To suckle the teat of life
She wants you to renew yourself
She is here to help you
She is here to help you
You don’t really like the word help.
but that is what she is here to do
She is wielding brushes of hog hair,
magic wands to make your worlds awaken
You aren’t sure you want to be that awake
You don’t know if you are ready
The soft brush she uses on your arm,
the hair from some exotic animal long ago
It’s the brush from Paris in the shape of a ram’s horn
It is the horn itself
She is smoothing the hairs as you begin to breath rapidly
What exactly is she inviting you into anyway? The lines of creativity and sensuality blur and blend
Your heart stirs as your thighs turn to liquid
The tiger leaps ahead, her black stripes blinding orange
The swan’s open black beaks to make babies with red nostrils
The snake is the color of midnight with a pink tongue
You smooth the canvas with an open palm
You kiss the fibers and you breathe a prayer
You dip the brush into liquid black with flecks of gold and
You begin
You just begin again and again and again
The Tenth Muse,
The Muse of Painting and Pleasure has visited youYou are covered in black fur and white feathers
You have your own pink tongue to flick
You begin You
The Midnight of New Beginnings
Is upon you
Begin beloved with honoring
What makes you come fully aliveWhere do you come more fully alive?
This is the place to begin the painting of your life
The Muse is at the back door of your heart
She opens it without a sound and enters in
with bare feet covered in red dirt
You aren’t exactly sure what she is inviting you into
But you just say YES, YES and YES!
~

Hello Community,
Today’s topic, pleasure, had me crying right away, lol. I want so much for us to have access to pleasure in our Path of Practice, and as a way to navigate pain and increase the quality of life. You might think I work too much - but you will hear the truth in how I navigate my day to day in this episode. AND how I want to share it with you. Everything is available at your fingertips :)
And if you aren’t joining us for TEMPLE - STILL listen in so that you can CHOOSE pleasure for yourself in the coming months. What have we got to lose? A lot of joy is what we have to lose.
