TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ EJA

EJA is the solo alias of one half of Duplicity, a now London based label and podcast series. As Duplicity, EJA emerged onto the local Scottish scene in late 2019, playing at events around Edinburgh and Glasgow. As Duplicity, EJA has spearheaded the label's overall sound through careful curation of podcast guests & artists for recent various artist releases, which have seen solid success. As the label continues to evolve, 2024 is shaping up to be a busy year with many releases in the pipeline. Since the pandemic, EJA has refined his own sound and general approach, focusing on deep, hypnotic, groovy and loopy elements, largely inspired by artists such as Rene Wise, Setaoc Mass, DVS1, MARRØN, Kaiser and has been working on his own productions, with a growing arsenal of unreleased works and a few select releases which have so far had support from the likes of Justine Perry, Lea Occhi, Border One, Kaiser, Annabel Arroyo and been released on Duplicity, .defaultbox, PRTLWRX & SOMA.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ THE SOUTHERN

Born in Matera, Italy, in the 1990s, Carmine Portarulo, known professionally as The Southern, has been deeply passionate about music from a young age.

His journey through music has taken him across diverse underground genres, evolving from pure electronic sounds to the early days of Hip Hop. By the age of 17, The Southern was already immersed in the world of Techno, drawing inspiration from iconic figures such as Carlo Lio, DJ Rush, Truncate, and Ben Sims. His early productions reflected his admiration for these masters, and he quickly developed a distinctive style characterized by a refined and sophisticated sound. Today, The Southern continues to push the boundaries of Techno, striving to create music that stands out in both innovation and quality.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ IKAAR

Ikaar's passion towards club culture ignited at a very young age: his journey first began on the dance floor, where his love for underground music evolved into a deep fascination for collecting and playing vinyls.

Over the years, Ikaar honed his craft by navigating into the boundaries of sound exploration and experimentation, in search for his signature sound. His record collection grew bigger, and his sound became increasingly refined, creating a unique blend of raw techno cuts and 90s-rooted energetic sonorities.

October 2022 marked a pivotal moment for his musical development, as he became Resident DJ of Milan-based institution CLOSER, where he had the chance of sharing the DJ booth with heavyweight artists such as Answer Code Request, Takaaki Itoh, The Lady Machine, Fadi Mohem and more - cementing his place in the heart of Italy's underground scene.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ VIL

Electronic dance music and beyond, Nuno Costa began his ventures into electronic music in 2008 with his Sinner moniker, and with it he created Warface, a local crew and promoter focused on dubstep, drum ’n’ bass, and UK garage.

VIL’s refined taste and set building ability has already earned him a place at some of the best clubs in Portugal, and is a regular presence at many of the country’s festivals as well.

Fast forward to 2018, where alongside Portuguese artists Temudo and menosdois, he creates Hayes, a collective focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases. Already counting with three vinyl releases since its inception, their music has already been played by the biggest artists in the scene.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ STIGMATIQUE

With his punk attitude and his unmistakable hypnotic-driving sounds, Stigmatique has been an integral part of not only the Leipzig, but also the German techno scene for more than five years now.

In 2017, he founded the label Seelen with his friend and partner JANEIN, which has become an indispensable part of international techno culture. As part of events in places like About Blank, Distillery, IFZ, Die Rakete, as well as international clubs like the Meet Compact Club in Italy or the Grellen Forelle in Vienna, he continued to make his way and began to assert himself against the old-established techno artists. As a resident of the Distillery in Leipzig, he has been providing damp, sweaty club nights for three years now, and as the initiator of this year's Distillery Tour, he is also playing throughout Germany.

Since 1989 Uncertain ( formerly known as Boriqua Tribez ) has become a driving force in Electronic Music.

His prevailing interest for different styles in music is responsible for his unique variety of classic elements and recent influences, whether as a DJ or producer. Currently performing on 3 decks Uncertain marks his DJing for being fast, proper & "telling stories". Travelling around the Globe and DJ-Support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Ben Sims, Mark Broom, Radio Slave, Truncate, Honey Dijon, Carl Cox, Luke Slater, Paco Osuna, DJ Rush, Will Clarke, Danny Howard, Eats Everything, DJ Bone, Danny Tenaglia, etc.. confirmes his recognition as an artist. After more than 50 Releases/Remixes on Labels like KMS (Label of Techno Originator Kevin Saunderson), Recycled Loops (former Label of UMEK/Valentino Kanzyani), Ingoma (former Label of Ben Sims), Primate,.. in the last two decades it was finally time to move on from Boriqua Tribez to the next chapter called "Uncertain". Artist and producer Sue Lèwig, Berlin-born and a nomad from an early age, creates music beyond the profane: techno as a social ritual in which everything is fluid and ‘‘one‘‘ - focussing on the emotional, physical and sensual. Coming from and intended for people to whom sound is a key to the world and the ear is the gateway to the soul.

In her studio Sue Lèwig develops midi-based tracks from improvised recordings sessions. In this process she works with various controllers, wich are mapped to vst. Being a trained sound engineer her technical skills make it easy for her to recombine and modulate individual loops and sections from those sessions in her live sets - using a digital audio workstation.
