He is out with a collection of odes titled Get Me Through the Next Five Minutes. It’s the kind of book you can pick up and read bit by bit at any time. But you may be tempted as I was…to just keep on going. The odes are that entertaining…from the Ode to Electricity , to Ode to Naps, to Ode to Squirrels, Parker’s observations are fun and often thought provoking… and he invites readers to write odes of their own..

“If you trust your own perceptions. I think that’s really important. And look after it. And then, I think, this stuff will come at you and you’ll find yourself able to write about it in a different way than you imagined.”
