  • Logitech innovates in carbon impact labeling

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  The leading maker of computer peripherals…Logitech ….is saying it will change labeling …to inform consumers about the environment impact of all of its products.  The first carbon impact labeling will show up on Logitech’s gaming products later this year.  And Global Head of Operations Prakash Arunkundrum tells us…

“One of the reasons we are doing this is partly to inform consumers, but also partly to make ourselves and our teams, especially our design and engineering and product teams, really be aware of the carbon impact of our products.  So that when we make the next generation products we are looking to lower the amount of carbon.”

Logitech is hoping to get other corporations involved as well in the labelling and certification efforts.

  • Quench Sea turns sea water drinkable affordably

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  Following a successful campaign on Indiegogo, a company called Hydro Wind Energy is bringing a device called Quench Sea to market.  It is a device that weighs under two pounds and is capable of turning more than 2 liters per hour of sea water…into water that is drinkable.  And even at just 70 dollars…the company is donating one for every one sold.  Founder and CEO Lee King…says it uses reverse osmosis….and the filter is long lasting…and replaceable for just about ten dollars.  And he hopes to bring the pricing down even more..

“Once we reach a hundred, two hundred thousand units the costs of producing Quench Sea are going to go drastically down.  Even eighty or sixty dollars is still very expensive for the humanitarian sector.”

You can watch the interview on the Techstination YouTube channel.  And find the company at www.quenchsea.world.

  • Hudl offers tech to help school sports teams and fans

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.  I’m Fred Fishkin.  These are tough and confusing times for sports teams….and their fans.  Whether you are talking about pro sports …college…or high school.  Hudl…a company that has pioneered technology to assist a wide range of sports teams at all levels….is offering to assist with what it calls a Return to Play program.  VP Greg Nelson..says that includes the Hudl Focus streaming software…that will help fans…

“Hudl Focus automatically streams to YouTube and a number of other destinations to be able to provide access to fans who might not be able to be in the gym,  to allow the teams to still reach their fans even if they can’t be on the sidelines cheering them.  They can still see the action happening in real time.”

It's hard to know when fans and teams will see normalcy again….but for now…there’s more info at www.hudl.com.
