Let's get back to what butters this podcast's bread ... complete and utter nonsense!

As fun as it is for Teebs and KidPhoenix to speak ill of media conglomerates like Disney or Time Warner, that gets exhausting to say the least.

Your hosts switch it up a little this week with a little exercise. A random decade was selected and movie titles were generated using ChatGPT. With only those two elements, Teebs and KidPhoenix will have to assemble a director and cast to pitch an action movie from the 2000s.

We are at the halfway point of the new Star Wars series -- "The Acolyte". Since Teebs hasn't "watched a single frame" of show, it will be up to KidPhoenix to carry the ball in the first half of the episode and give his feelings of the show after four (five as of today) episodes.

After the break, Teebs would like to get in to some of the negative discourse around the show in various aspects and voice some concerns and dislikes over how the show was treated prior to its release.

Something that Teebs and KidPhoenix speculated on previously in series two happened this past week. (They're clairvoyant AF, people!)

Brent Lang at Variety reported on the purchase of the Alamo Drafthouse -- a movie theater chain in multiple states across the United States. While the chain isn't as big as Regal or AMC, it does reveal that production companies are at least thinking about controlling movie releases from production to distribution.

Your hosts discuss whether or not this is a one-off situation or the start of a potentially dangerous trend. There are pros and cons to this, and those will be discussed also in today's episode.

Since the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is no longer a thing (R.I.P.), the Summer Game Fest -- an expo similar to E3 but hosted primarily online -- is all gamers have in the summer to see what video game companies are developing in the next year (or quarter as they do in that industry).

Teebs and KidPhoenix are on the job with what they took away from this year's Summer Game Fest. What did they take away? What are they excited for (if anything because you know how they are with video games)?

After the break, there are some things your hosts would love to see, so they're going to hopefully plant some seeds and see if there is any harvest provided.

Is the IP losing some steam after one "mid" project after another since Episode IX -- with the exception of "Andor" and a season or two of "The Mandalorian".

As of today, we are five episodes -- the halfway point -- in to the newest Disney+ television series: X-Men '97. This is a continuation of the X-Men cartoon from the early/mid 1990s.

Teebs and KidPhoenix give their thoughts on the show to this point. Does it capture the spirit of the original or is it better? Are there aspects they don't like?

The year is 2014. It is a strange transitional year for pop culture and media.

We are years removed from the last Star Wars movie and years before its return. The Lord of the Rings trilogy has come and gone. The Marvel Cinematic Universe was still a bit in its infancy -- but ten years ago, some important debuts made their way to the big screen, little screen and consoles.
