  • VS The Great Debate: Playstation 2: Greatest Console Ever?

    It's debate time once again!

This time, Teebs and KidPhoenix delve into the evolution of gaming consoles, focusing on the PlayStation 2 and its impact on the gaming landscape since the console's inception in 2000.

The duo debates the strengths and weaknesses of various consoles, launch titles, and the franchises that emerged during the PS2 era, ultimately highlighting the significance of the PlayStation 2 in gaming history.

On the other side of the coin (Teebs's coin), the merits of the Xbox 360 as a revolutionary console are compared to the PS2. What impact on gaming culture, online gaming, and its extensive library of games.

The discussion culminates in a light-hearted debate about which console would be preferable on a deserted island, the PS2 or the Xbox 360.

After your hosts' federally mandated hiatus, Teebs and KidPhoenix have returned from whatever multiversal madness they were trapped in and returned to the sacred timeline!

This week is a catch up episode. We know what they've done all summer, but no one else does. What have they been watching? What have they been doing? What are they looking forward to, and what do they think of recent nerd news that has released or is soon to be released.

  • VS San Diego Comic Con 2024

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IT IS THAT TIME AGAIN!

It is July, and KidPhoenix has been on an airplane (or pair of airplanes) to convene with Teebs in San Diego for San Diego Comic Con 2024!

Your hosts preview this year's Con -- the first since the actors and writers strikes last summer. Savanah Tiffany (now a seasoned veteran attendee) also joins your hosts to tell you all what panels you can find us in ... for example ...

  • VS The Movie Randomizer (2000s Action)

Let's get back to what butters this podcast's bread ... complete and utter nonsense!

As fun as it is for Teebs and KidPhoenix to speak ill of media conglomerates like Disney or Time Warner, that gets exhausting to say the least.

Your hosts switch it up a little this week with a little exercise. A random decade was selected and movie titles were generated using ChatGPT. With only those two elements, Teebs and KidPhoenix will have to assemble a director and cast to pitch an action movie from the 2000s.

  • VS The Acolyte - A Mid-Review

We are at the halfway point of the new Star Wars series -- "The Acolyte". Since Teebs hasn't "watched a single frame" of show, it will be up to KidPhoenix to carry the ball in the first half of the episode and give his feelings of the show after four (five as of today) episodes.

After the break, Teebs would like to get in to some of the negative discourse around the show in various aspects and voice some concerns and dislikes over how the show was treated prior to its release.

  • VS The Sony/Alamo Merger

Something that Teebs and KidPhoenix speculated on previously in series two happened this past week. (They're clairvoyant AF, people!)

Brent Lang at Variety reported on the purchase of the Alamo Drafthouse -- a movie theater chain in multiple states across the United States. While the chain isn't as big as Regal or AMC, it does reveal that production companies are at least thinking about controlling movie releases from production to distribution.

Your hosts discuss whether or not this is a one-off situation or the start of a potentially dangerous trend. There are pros and cons to this, and those will be discussed also in today's episode.

  • VS Summer Game Fest

Since the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is no longer a thing (R.I.P.), the Summer Game Fest -- an expo similar to E3 but hosted primarily online -- is all gamers have in the summer to see what video game companies are developing in the next year (or quarter as they do in that industry).

Teebs and KidPhoenix are on the job with what they took away from this year's Summer Game Fest. What did they take away? What are they excited for (if anything because you know how they are with video games)?

After the break, there are some things your hosts would love to see, so they're going to hopefully plant some seeds and see if there is any harvest provided.

  • VS Star Wars: The Acolyte

The summer is here which means there will be lots of new content for the kids on summer vacation to consume.

If you're a Star Wars kid (of any age), "The Acolyte" was released last night before the taping of this podcast. Teebs and KidPhoenix will be having a "first thoughts" pod soon, but you can (and should) check the socials to see how your hosts feel about the show.

On the pod, today, Teebs and KidPhoenix preview some of the plot points and characters of the show and then ask the Star Wars developers one thing: "You good, bro?" Is the IP losing some steam after one "mid" project after another since Episode IX -- with the exception of "Andor" and a season or two of "The Mandalorian".

If Star Wars is not good, your hosts are solutions oriented and give some ideas in the second part of the pod.
