Action movies have been a Hollywood foundation for decades.

These movies have evolved past the era of Arnold, Sly and Bruce. The action movie genre and its stars have changed over the decades, but the great ones are always remembered and honored. In today's episode, Teebs and KidPhoenix induct new members into their Action Movie Hall of Fame. This committee meeting was unscheduled, but the release of "John Wick 4" caused the committee members to meet and debate the candidacy of Keanu Reeves as well as other actors who have strong cases to make for 2023.

Video games seem to be getting their big moment in the media sun these days.

Properties like "The Last of Us" flourish on HBO. "Assassin's Creed", "God of War", and "Horizon: Zero Dawn" are all coming to streaming services. A new animated version of "Super Mario Brothers" will be hitting theaters next month. All of those properties have your hosts wondering ... what would they make into a movie or TV series.

Both Teebs and KidPhoenix will be given a figurative bag of cash comparable to the "Avatar" budget ($250 million for those scoring at home) and tasked with making their video game property to movie adaptation come to life however they see fit.

In this podcast, Teebs starts out by saying that the patron saint of this podcast is the late, great George Carlin -- a man who routinely said how he felt and told it like it was. If you've listened to the podcast over the last two series, you know this to be true of your hosts.

With that in mind, let's open Series Three with a little free floating hostility. There are problems, items and issues that irk Teebs and KidPhoenix. There are WAY too many for one podcast (because we like to keep it under an hour), however, there are larger ones that come to the front of their brains. These are the ones that exit the brains and chests of your hosts. You can't (or shouldn't, at least) walk around with all of this frustration. Sometimes, you gotta let it out.

When it comes to the period of time that shaped Teebs & KidPhoenix the most, many time periods can be pointed to: growing up in West Philadelphia in the 80s and 90s, living in San Diego and going to Comic Cons in the 2000s.

However, if there is one period of time that formed your nerdy, outspoken hosts the most, it would be the period of time where both Teebs and KidPhoenix worked at the Video Library in Philadelphia. The Video Library was an old-school video rental establishment that was a staple of the city of Philadelphia for decades. Many employees have accepted paychecks from the Video Library, and today (as well as next week), past employees join the podcast to reminisce about old times!

There will be funny stories. There will be references that may not be understood. One thing is clear. The Video Library and its employees were unique in their own way, and they were all nurtured. Join us for a trip down memory lane as well as get opinions of where media is now compared to how it was consumed back in the day before the explosion of the streaming service.

With Halloween in the rear view mirror (unless you're simply counting down the days until Halloween 2023), the next holiday on the calendar approaches just as Series Two of the podcast comes to its conclusion: Thanksgiving.

Regardless of how you feel about the history of the holiday, there's one thing that everyone can agree on. The food served at Thanksgiving dinner is epic on a level that defies description if you happen to have a family that gets down on the holiday like that -- or you have a friend who's family gets down on the holiday like that.

Many things are served at the Thanksgiving table from appetizers and sides to the main courses and desserts. Some things are exclusive to more melanin infused people, but that's okay.
