  • ISI gives enterprises visibility into the fundamentals and foundations of customer service, Podcast
“You can’t improve what you don’t measure,” says Jason Forehand, CEO of ISI. Speaking on the second day of Enterprise Connect, Forehand walks us through the ISI announcement that the UC Analytics company will now provide visibility for Microsoft Teams. The firm has a long history of offering insights for Avaya and Cisco customers. Forehand describes how these services go beyond a cold set of numbers and talk directly to core business imperatives. In a competitive market, most companies can suffer if they don’t understand where they are, unknowingly, failing to communicate with customers. ISI can offer a larger firm to know if a given retail location is talking to customers, connecting with their needs, or not. “We help enterprises make better decisions,” says Forehand.

  • Commio merger – how and why it happened – enabling full redundancy – from dial to delivery – maintaining quality and security, Podcast
With a vision of the future, ThinQ executed a strategy that placed them in the center of the CPaaS market with very differentiating technology.

On this podcast, Commio announced their newest communications feature - Total Voice Redundancy, in addition to the current redundant texting. This is groundbreaking for the industry.

    Tim McLain

Why the merger? ThinQ wanted to move into the CPaas market more aggressively. They knew they needed some additional technology to make it happen. STIR/SHAKEN is a required technology for carriers by the government that a small company called Commio developed in addition to other technology. What better way for ThinQ to enter a market - rebranded as one of the major players - so they bought Commio. In addition, they have been utilizing Teli SMS technology for 10 years.  It made sense to make them a part of the team, so they bought them also. Now, they have all the key components in house.

Through it all, quality, and the customer experience, continues to be their goal.

It’s been difficult to find a cloud communications solution that gives you peace of mind.

You need voice and text messaging that gives you total control, transparency, and redundancy. So, you can rest easy and focus on what matters most: building amazing experiences that engage and delight customers.

That’s why more companies trust Commio to deliver better communications.

  • Sennheiser’s Evolution Wireless Digital allows for seamless product pairing and management, Podcast
“Now more than ever audio is extremely important,” says David Missall, Insights Manager Consultants and Technical Application Engineer Manager - Business Communication at Sennheiser. “The far side has to hear it, the people in the room have to hear it,” Missall adds. Having the right devices and having the best design, in-order to deliver excellent audio, has become critical in the new virtual and hybrid working environment. In this podcast we take a closer look at the Evolution Wireless Digital solution.

Evolution Wireless Digital is a versatile and feature-rich digital wireless system for those who sing, speak or play instruments that allows for seamless product pairing and management via the EW-D Smart Assist App. Receive state-of-the-art live sound featuring Sennheiser‘s renowned e 835 capsule on a lightweight handheld transmitter with integrated mute switch. Evolution Wireless Digital breaks the boundaries by providing more dynamic range than any wireless system currently on the market. Automatically securing the most reliable signal in a matter of seconds and scalable up 90 channels thanks to 56 MHz of tuning bandwidth, also features an equidistant tuning grid previously only found in our flagship Digital 6000 and Digital 9000 wireless systems. Quality components with exceptional linearity eliminate intermodulation between EW-D transmitters, allowing frequencies to be equally spaced every 600 kHz alongside each other. This simplifies frequency coordination for wireless beginners and seasoned professionals alike, and also contributes to the system’s scalability and impressively high channel count. The EW-D also comes in other variants like the ME 2 Lavalier set and ME 3 Headmic Set that are applicable for corporate and education environments.

  • Commio, having successfully completed a merger with thinQ and teli, discusses the results of their revealing CPaaS survey, Podcast
Newly formed Commio positions themselves in the Twilio arena with their CPaaS technology. Being able io install the thinQ Voice API in 60 seconds while allowing carriers to scale faster, send more calls and messages per second at a rate that cost 40% less makes Commio a real force in the market.

To that point, Tim McLain, Director of Marketing at Commio discusses a survey they are releasing that provides insights into the affects the pandemic has had on the CPaaS market. The report identifies that more spending is to be made on voice and messaging this year implying that employees will continue to work from home. Some of the funds will be directed to STIR/SHAKEN implementing additional features to reduce SPAM and fraudulent calls. Additionally, 10DLC brand/campaign registration requirements have become daunting for customers allowing Commio to deliver their successful solutions to a wider base.

Ultimately, it is all about the customer’s experience and Commio delivers the best for both voice and messaging.

thinQ Voice API connects to twilio and any existing CPaaS tech stack fast, so you can enable higher-quality domestic, toll-free, and international calling today.

Whether you need to route five thousand or 50M calls, thinQ’s multi-carrier interconnections and intelligent routing scale to meet any to deliver maximum uptime. See beyond the API to get complete routing control, full transparency, and automated cost-savings in a solution that has redefined better cloud voice for more than a decade.

  • iBASIS BUILDS BRIDGES TO NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR CLOUD AND CARRIER COMMUNITIES
September 21, 2021 - Lexington, MA - iBASIS, a leading provider of communications solutions for operators and digital players worldwide, announced today at Cloud Comms Summit that it has joined the Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA).

“iBASIS builds bridges between communities, technologies, and opportunities,” says Guillaume Klein, VP Product Management at iBASIS. “Our mandate is to propel monetization opportunities for the Cloud Communications ecosystem at the incredible pace now demanded by the market.”

iBASIS brings to the CCA a diversified technology global perspective with a quarter of a century of leadership in a broad set of connected fields. “With more than 100 patents across multiple products such as IP connectivity, anti-fraud, quality monitoring, and IoT domains, innovation is embedded in our DNA,” adds Klein.

CCA chairman Clark Peterson called iBASIS’ decision to join the CCA “an exciting addition to the CCA membership. Opportunity and innovation are the CCA brand and iBASIS brings those qualities to the table.” Peterson believes that iBASIS will offer CCA members new vistas in expanding their cloud communications practices. iBASIS offers new pathways for traditional carriers to explore and partner with cloud communications companies. "As communications become ubiquitous, both geographically as well as in the integration of fixed and mobile communications, the value of global providers with collaboration tools that enable this ubiquity becomes strategically critical to enable the transformation of the future of cloud communications."

In today’s announcement, iBASIS identified the launch of their Carrier Voice for Teamwork solution, which enables carriers globally to add PSTN to Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other collaboration platforms, as an important milestone in iBASIS’s cloud communications enablement journey.

The iBASIS Carrier Voice for Teamwork™ provides global service availability from and to the cloud via two-way PSTN numbers, delivering native voice service in over sixty markets for global termination. Helping carriers respond to their local Enterprise demand, the solution is built on iBASIS’ established wholesale leadership to drive voice capabilities for Microsoft Teams and deliver proven performance. Carriers like China Telecom Europe, one of their flagship customers, gain quick time-to-market with its pay-as-you-go model, flexible pricing plans, easy configuration, and self-service portal.

Klein adds, “I like bridges and our new CCA membership is a bridge that opens up new possibilities, bringing together carriers and cloud communications companies.” This opens the door for many traditional carrier organizations to offer their existing customer bases a successful migration while retaining business relationships and partnerships that sometimes go back decades.

“We have connected several global CPaaS players to iBASIS’ global network to allow interworking between cloud and traditional networks,” says Klein. “We have also created our own telecom APIs (Number, IoT) and continue to add our own APIs and those of our partners to our marketplace. As an independent carrier, our partnership model enables carriers, service providers, and digital players with all their global communications needs – fixed voice, mobile, messaging, data, IOT – as well as security. Our customers benefit from instant access to a global reach, scale, and expertise so they can offload the complexity of managing international communications to us and focus on their core business.”

“This is clearly the right time for the CCA story and the iBASIS story to become formally connected,” said Peterson. “The iBASIS membership in the CCA, announced today at our conference, marks another chapter in our organization’s ongoing quest to bring excellence, opportunities, and new business partnerships to our membership.”

  • Enterprise Connect 2021 reflects communications challenges of our time, Podcast
“We serve the enterprise communications decision maker,” says Eric Krapf, General Manager and Program Co-Chair of Enterprise Connect. As the job titles of those decision makers have changed over the past thirty years, so too has the annual event, each year showcasing the largest players, but also offering a glimpse at the up and comers. It was at an Enterprise Connect event, not to long ago, that a new video conferencing company called Zoom first appeared at a 10 x 10. As we learn, this year Zoom is one of five companies offering keynoters.

Over the past few days, like many September events, the conference announced that it would go virtual. In this podcast, we learn about how the virtual event will offer new opportunities for regular attendees to have new experiences. We also learn that this years virtual edition will mean access for thousands of enterprise UC professionals who otherwise might not have been able to attend because of non-Covid related travel freezes that companies often clamp on, even in normal years, or where travel has been restricted to only a narrow number of team members. Everyone can come to Enterprise Connect 2021.

Krapf discusses show floor highlights and conference session content. This year, conferencing, contact center and related areas such as collaboration will be “super-hot”. People can attend sessions and tour the floor as they explore strategies to make it through the pandemic and plan for a post-pandemic, altered landscape of hybrid workforces, and the new ways workers and consumers will be using the communications services.

  • Poly designs for a new work and life landscape, Podcast
"Our business is virtual collaboration,” says Jennifer Adams Senior Director Go-to-Market Strategy, and Programs at Poly. “That’s what everything we make is designed so this has a real proving ground for our employees and our customers.” The pandemic has changed the way we work as we start to return to the office. In this podcast we discuss the importance of redesigning the office for hybrid work and why Poly believes a one-size fits all approach will fail. Adams discusses how Poly’s product development is driven by research the company does on how people live and work. Poly’s products, even pre-pandemic, often make their way through people’s day, in many places, even before the work from anywhere concept came into clear view over the past year. “Our research provides that insight to our customers,” notes Adams, pointing out that now, not only does Poly’s careful study of different types of work and workers help with product development, but the research is also useful to the customers themselves as they too learn more about the remote environments their workers use, and work to pull together buying strategies for the hybrid workplace. Adams discusses some work with Zoom and some recent product development that takes video conferencing to a new level, creating an experience where people sitting in a conference room appear in the same kind of configuration as those attending from home, or remote. Adams discusses the centrality of how the personas that Poly derives from its research are very central in building products to closely match the specific needs and challenges that people in various occupations, verticals and situations, encounter.
