  • NetPlus enables enterprises to optimize UC, IT and Mobility assets
It's a common IT and UC challenge. A company or a government organization enters into a merger, which means networks, gear and other systems never designed to work together must now work as one. The same organization might enter into a period of growth, or alternatively a period of shedding staff, closing sites, or enduring a hiring/spending freeze. IT and UC managers have little say over these events but are faced with consequences that other parts of the management team may not have anticipated.
In this podcast Tom Stallone, Vice President of Sales for NetPlus walks us through how his company helps an organization's technology management team bring their networks together and how NetPlus can find savings by improving active management of the organization's technology assets. Stallone also discusses how NetPlus helps UC and UCaaS managers get their arms around mobility challenges, and related expense and security issues.
According to Stallone, mobility was a key topic at his booth during the Avaya ENGAGE conference. NetPlus is an Avaya DevConnect Partner.
NetPlus is a leading Communications Management solutions provider for both commercial and government entities. • The way work today needs an Acoustic Fence
    Telecom Reseller Featured Product
The "office" used to mean a physical space, defined by four walls and a door. Thirty years ago, the office evolved into a layout of cubicles, a style of work parodied in the movie "Office Space". But as the new century got underway, the concept of office radically changed again, this time into two forms. If the office is a physical place at all, than it's likely to be an open space without walls or the privacy barriers of the cubicle era. And in many companies, some or all of the week, the "office" becomes whatever is available in each associate's home or other spaces: bedrooms, spare rooms, home office, and garage are now among the many places where people carve out space to work. While workers have enjoyed the freedom of being able to work from home or having a nice open space to use at work, the new office leaves one big challenge: noise. The noise of fellow workers, the noise of the barking dog and a distant TV, are all now within range of the traditional microphones found on traditional phones. Polycom's solution: an acoustic fence.
In this podcast, Polycom's Darren Knapp walks us through what Knapp describes as a home run for Polycom. Knapp describes how Polycom is offering end point products that essentially remove noisy background noise, sidebar conversations and so on. The technology also eliminates the annoying roar of noise in contact centers and creates privacy to meet regulatory requirements in environments such as health care. Knapp also talks about the "U in UC", in how conferencing and communication products can help service providers seeking up market clients to offer immersive conferencing that goes well beyond some consumer options that never quite bring people close.
Polycom's Acoustic Fence was demonstrated at ITEXPO, where people were able to use Polycom phones in a noisy expo environment.
