  • Telecom Team vs Network Team: Why can’t we all get along?
The network and telecom teams work in the same company, and typically in the same IT department, and may even share senior management. But it’s no secret that even decades into the marriage of voice and data, the people in charge of a company’s voice and call services might end up working at cross purposes with the people in charge of the company’s network. Conflicting goals can actually lead to strange situations where success for one team can occur at virtually causing failure for the other. In this podcast, Tim Titus of PathSolutions discusses the nature of this challenge and how to get the UC and network teams to work together.

  • Carrier Network Virtualization at risk from the Internet of Things lack of security at endpoints
Rick Conklin, Vice President of Development with Dispersive Networks, discusses security panel topic of Carrier Network Virtualization conference with Don Witt of The Channel Daily News from Telecom Reseller.
Dispersive Networks provides a virtual network topology on top of legacy infrastructure and software dramatically improving speed and reliability. Protocols were written to be trusting and cooperative. With the addition of the internet, the private network becomes exposed to the public network creating problems for the trusted cooperative environment originally planned. Now with the addition of the Internet of Things, more vulnerabilities exist for these networks.
    Learn how:
Dispersive™ Connectenables out-of-office users to communicate with each other and with a Dispersive™ Edge network to access an enterprise’s network services, including cloud applications.
Dispersive™ Critical Infrastructure Software-Defined Network delivers security, reliability and resiliency for critical infrastructure data communications over the Internet.
Dispersive™ Edge is a software-only product line that provides site-to-site communications and site-to-cloud communications. It also allows Dispersive™ Connect users to access network services.
Dispersive Technologies was formed as a Georgia corporation in 2010. Today, they provide software-defined solutions that virtualize routing and data storage for IP-based networks. These solutions manage connectivity that avoids congestion and thwarts cyberattacks. This empowers organizations to leverage the economics of the Internet, cloud-based services, and commodity hardware.
Their technology helps enterprises move data faster, more securely and more reliably.
This enables them to reduce cost structures, streamline and secure operations, and perform more efficiently.
Their officers and directors hail from various fields: media, finance, telecom and government. However, they share the same goal: maximize the incredible power and potential of the Internet.

  • Learn about the Telehealth business failures to discover the Secrets to Telemedicine Success
For a market that has had millions of dollars poured into it, the market is still struggling and experiencing growth well below expectations. Dr. Milton Chen, CEO at VSEE and one of the Organizers of the conference, explains to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News by Telecom Reseller and Telemedicine Update, how the technology improves the quality of care to the patient. Telehealth does not eliminate the doctor patient experience – it enhances it.  The patient does not need to go to the doctor every time they have an issue.  A video call may suffice in 50% to 75% of the cases.  The patient would still see the doctor via a laptop or browser video feed.
The patient is still able to see the doctor when absolutely needed.
This takes a page out of the Dr. Deming zero defect philosophy.  While defects will exist and illness occurs, the earlier in the process they are discovered:
    Reduces cost
    Reduces downtime
    Improves quality of life
    Saves lives
These are some of the goals of Telemedicine and indeed some companies and technology accomplish these goals. But how do we get society to accept this style of medical practice and how do companies make money delivering this service?
These are some of the answers attendees will obtain from this highly regarded Telehealth conference.

  • Delivering Services for a Positive User Experience
    by Gary Audin
Service providers are migrating to multi-vendor networks so they can deliver the capacity required for a projected 1,000-times increase in data volumes by 2020 while supporting an excellent user experience. There are two common factors in planned networks – greater variety and complexity, and a greater number of sites. There is an increasing demand for vendor-independent solutions, especially for BSS, OSS, and network management software and services. Delivering a great customer experience requires more than just raw capacity. It requires streamlining, ordering, billing, and fulfillment with fast acting solutions. This embodied in the Third Network approach.
Dr. Gabriel Kerner, VP, and Head of Product Management OSS at AMDOCS www.amdocs.com recorded this podcast at the MEF 16 conference. He discusses the development of software solutions and services for the provider back office. • The State of Service Assurance
    by Gary Audin
Static WANs are dependent on single-purpose, physical devices, and fixed circuits. They require truck rolls to setup, upgrade, and maintain them. Enterprise demands have increased, IoT, and data center connectivity and services also increased. The volume of equipment and the manual processes required to conduct moves, adds, and changes for static WANs make them complex and expensive for both service providers and their customers.
SD-WAN promises to reduce CAPEX and OPEX associated with private, static MPLS networks delivered over remote special purpose hardware. By employing centralized, programmable software and commodity hardware, SD-WAN enables service providers to provision and assure services from the cloud, eliminating truck rolls and accelerating agility.
Chris Purdy, CTO for CENX www.cenx.com and Gary Audin recorded this podcast at the MEF 16 conference. Chris discusses the dramatic shift from static to virtualized networks. He covers SLAs and the assurance that they are clearly delivered. He points out that there is an evolution into customer self-service portals. Chris addresses the service management market, its reach, and the sophistication of its service information model, algorithms, and single pane of glass view.
CENX www.cenx.com transforms network big data into real-time actionable intelligence. They accelerate end-to-end operations by harnessing dynamic analytics and web-scale computing to visualize, manage, and assure data services across multi-vendor, SDN, and NFV networks. Their software solutions are deployed by the largest, most innovative service providers worldwide. For mobile, wireline, and cloud data center service providers, a comprehensive service assurance solution is essential to deliver advanced data services with high Quality of Experience (QoE) across complex, multi-vendor infrastructures. CENX, a next-gen software company, turns vast amounts of network big data into actionable intelligence. The intelligence enables service providers to dramatically reduce the time needed to operate and troubleshoot their networks, and supports the transition to virtualized (NFV) and software-defined networks (SDN).
