  • Telnyx surging forward with a “Be your own carrier” with internal network and quality which equals 99.999 approach
David Casem, CEO of Telnyx describes their company, network, and philosophy to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News from Telecom Reseller. David provides very interesting insight into Telnyx which includes the Domestic network Structure, as well as the international structure. It all revolves around the “Be your own carrier’ concept. Customer service is key. Their clients will handle level 1, but they will handle the rest.

Providing the latest technology to their customers is important.  With WebRTC and other technology emerging, Telnyx first makes sure that you can reach the 8 Billion devices currently connected to the internet. They will also be providing the API and SDK tools to enable clients take advantage of the fast communications evolution. Many Cisco and Avaya Resellers are taking advantage of the advanced technology, pricing and commission structure.

    p.s.

Telnyx sponsored a ClueCon reception at their new facilities in Chicago.  It was a wonderful reception with live music, appetizers, and plenty of dink options.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and learned a great deal about Telnyx.  First - they have a great staff! What many attendees may have missed were some of the design specifics.

The office was designed and contracted by Telnyx. This included white board walls to be used for drawing or meetings. A matrix lighting system that can be controller individually by a person on the computer or all at once.  They have a state of the art sound system that can also be used in emergencies and more.

The stand out feature of the office is based on one of my favorite individuals – Dr. Deming, The American Who Taught the Japanese About Quality after WWII and helped them rebuild their manufacturing. Telnyx has taken his Zero Defect philosophy and applied it to Telephony quality. Ian Reither, COO and co-founder at Telnyx, is pointing to the green lights on the beams running down the facility.  The color will change from green to yellow to red based on the network status.  As in Zero Defect, if it goes red, it is all hands on deck until the issue is resolved and the corrective action document completed. Because they have had this philosophy from the start, the lights are green the vast, vast majority of the time.

  • SimpleVisit makes HIPAA-compliant video visits possible across platforms
The advance of video conferencing is enabling products that are delivering vital services in health care. SimpleVisit enables a HIPAA-compliant video visit between patients and their health care providers, with the patient using FaceTime on a smartphone. SimpleVisit's patented Symphony technology allows  these visits to occur across multiple communication platforms. In this podcast Chris Knotts, SimpleVisit CEO outlines for us how this unique approach enables patient conferences to occur even if there are a variety of platforms involved, and how his company hosts each conference, with an operator who buttons down all the technical issues before the actual health care visit begins, thus preventing an RN or physician from spending expensive time making sure the call is working before making the actual televisit. Knotts outlines how this advance helps with patients who might not be able to make a traditional visit, and how this can improve the quality of care and the productivity of the care team at the same time.

  • Not all Hybrids are Equal
    by Gary Audin

Lots of companies are talking about hybrid unified communications (UC), but what does it really mean for you? Hybrid UC gives you the best of the on-premise solution with the redundancy and scalability of the cloud. How well is your hybrid solution suited to your requirements? Does it provide end-to-end voice quality measurements? Do you have multiple points for accessing the PSTN? Can it work when the Internet is down? Disaster avoidance is better than disaster recovery. You need an end-to-end architecture not just a cloud service and an on-premises system connected together.

Colin Johnston, EVP of Business Development at Star2Star www.star2star.com and Gary Audin discuss a blended architecture for hybrid unified communications. Star2Star is unique in that it provides the on-premises technologies that are specifically created for hybrid operation. With its eight carrier collocated data centers, it can deliver better services, offers shorter network delays, and greater voice quality. By pooling, the service can significantly reduce the number of lines required. Think of it as dial tone on demand.

What you will learn in this EDUcast:

    Business challenges today
    Using broadband in your network
What is a true hybrid architecture?
Blended architecture reliability and business continuity
How a hybrid architecture protects your business, provides you with more functionality and lowers your costs
Technology that delivers the best hybrid solution

Star2Star www.star2star.com offers products and services to their customers and partners that are unmatched in the industry, and their satisfaction rates reflect this. Star2Star customers enjoy call quality and reliability that competitors just can't provide with advanced unified communications (UC) features. Their partners and customers appreciate that Star2Star does the heavy lifting, allowing them to focus on building relationships. No one in the unified communications as a service (UCaaS) space can rival Star2Star's full service quote assistance, deal registration and protection, sales and discovery support, marketing program, pre-sales engineering, implementation and installation services, or ultra-reliable solutions.

  • ClueCon 2016 delivers the venue, the FreeSWITCH and WebRTC technology, the attendees and the continued spirit of an ongoing open source project with a bright future
Brian West, the spokesperson for both ClueCon and FreeSWITCH discusses the current state of FreeSWITCH with Don Witt of The Channel Daily News from Telecom Reseller. It is hard not to get enthused about FreeSWITCH based on the people and the companies that now support the technology. Brian reviews the origin  of the project, new features and moves on to what is new at the show.

One of the major sessions include a conference call based on WebRTC in which participants from Safari, Mozila and Edge were all communicating through a FreeSWITCH server. It was very impressive to see and to understand that active development groups are working on WebRTC with the other browsers and with FreeSWITCH.

FreeSWITCH is a major player in the telephony world and the project should be complimented on what they have done so far and for what they plan to implement in the future. Check out Brian’s enthusiastic review of ClueCon and FreeSWITCH.

FreeSWITCH is a scalable open source cross-platform telephony platform designed to route and interconnect popular communication protocols using audio, video, text or any other form of media.  It was created in 2006 to fill the void left by proprietary commercial solutions.  FreeSWITCH also provides a stable telephony platform on which many applications can be developed using a wide range of free tools. FreeSWITCH was originally designed and implemented by Anthony Minessale II with the help of Brian West and Michael Jerris.  All 3 are former developers of the popular Asterisk open source PBX.  The project was initiated to focus on several design goals including modularity, cross-platform support, scalability and stability.  Today, many more developers and users contribute to the project on a daily basis.

  • OpenSIPS is the muscle behind the scenes for many Telecommunications solutions around the world
The founder of OpenSIPS Bogdan Iancu discusses OpenSIPS beginning, the open source community that supports it and the technology currently implemented within the telecommunications work horse software at ClueCon in Chicago. Bogdan also discusses how to determine if OpenSIPS is technology you need to implement as well as a few of the key features such as the dashboard and the new clustering capability allowing OpenSIPS to scale into a much larger solution with Don Witt of The Channel Daily News from Telecom Reseller. WebRTC and API availability are also discussed.

OpenSIPS (Open SIP Server) is a mature Open Source implementation of a SIP server. OpenSIPS is more than a SIP proxy/router as it includes application-level functionalities. OpenSIPS, as a SIP server, is the core component of any SIP-based VoIP solution. With a very flexible and customizable routing engine, OpenSIPS unifies voice, video, IM and presence services in a highly efficient way, thanks to its scalable (modular) design.

What OpenSIPS has to offer, comes in a reliable and high-performance flavor - OpenSIPS is one of the fastest SIP servers, with a throughput that confirms it as a solution up to enterprise or carrier-grade class.

  • The telecommunication engineers preferred show to receive the most recent information on the latest and newest communication technology in the world
Don Witt of The Channel Daily News from Telecom Reseller speaks with Anthony Minessale II, the Inventor and Original Author of FreeSWITCH. Starting out with a history of FreeSWITCH as an observer from Don Witt followed up with the inside history from Anthony as he describes the several stages of his evolution to ultimately transition Web Hosting, AsteriskTM  coding and support into the FreeSWITCH project.

ClueCon started in 2005 as a brainstorming session on what FreeSWITCH should be and continues, starting today, for the 11th year. Anthony discusses the 2016 ClueCon main subjects which include FreeSWITCH and WebRTC technology. Anthony provides great insight into one of the hugely successful open source projects.

ClueCon is not a typical cookie-cutter EXPO that aims to get you face to face with a salesman in an endless sea of booths. ClueCon was designed to bring everyone interested in technology-driven communication to one place to share ideas, learn from each other and build the tools needed to succeed at any goals you have. Everyone has something to gain from a seasoned web developer playing with new ideas all the way to CEO of a technology company looking to take advantage of real-time communication. Presentations are given in a large classroom format and plenty of time is reserved for social interaction and getting to know the speakers and sponsors.

    ClueCon is geared towards:

New business startups or existing technical companies looking to get your development team up to speed on the technology they need to succeed in VoIP and Telephony.
A developer working with open source VoIP project for your company.
Someone who just loves the whole idea of connecting computers to telephones.
    Anyone dealing with high-density telephony.
Anyone interested in integrating conference calling and PSTN with HTML5 and WebRTC.

  • As companies migrate to the cloud, the channel continues to evolve with the changing times to service the companies.
Dina Moskowitz, SaaSMAX CEO, speaks with Don Witt of The Channel Daily News from Telecom Reseller about the evolution of the channel and how her company is positioned to service the changing needs of the Resellers and the companies who buy from them. The resellers themselves are not the typical resellers.

SaaSMAX has created a new online market for Security products called Security as a service Stack. The products are also available for white label and resellers can create their own web stores. One of the key elements of the evolving channel is the cross marketing with other technology products. This enables the stack to provide additional solutions for an individual customer based on their needs.

SaaSMAX was recently described by a top industry analyst as “providing a yeoman’s service to SaaS suppliers and SaaS resellers.”   At least 85 percent of all software in recent years has and is being developed for cloud-based delivery, and tens of thousands of new web-based applications are still yet to launch.   SaaS applications are becoming more specialized, whether horizontally or vertically, and the innovation and competition is nothing less than amazing.  SaaSMAX was formed to create an organized marketplace to serve three primary purposes:

    1) To help the SaaS sector (a) recruit reseller partners from the $400B+ IT Channel and thereby reach more customers,  (b) develop and grow their channel partner programs, (c) improve their channel management/partner processes, and (d) successfully distribute their products.
    2) To help Channel Partners (resellers of all types) to efficiently identify, meet and do business with top-rated, partner-friendly SaaS applications .
    3) To bridge the business processes gaps that exist between SaaS Vendors and Reseller Partners.  As such, those who participate in an organized sales value chain and leverage Resellers stand to achieve greater momentum and traction.
